Sending my gummy worm to cheer up that sweet rag dolly.🫡 After watching the finale it made me sad that Ragatha had to pick herself up alone. Pomni has Kinger, Gangle and Zooble have each other, and she had to put on a brave face while being the odd one out. I don’t think she gets enough credit for retaining her kindness and good heart after being the unsupported third wheel for so many years. Anyways, thank you for the show Gooseworx and team! I enjoyed it. RIP Jax.

look, here’s the thing: alice in wonderland’s enduring fucking charm is that it perfectly captures the vibe of being a very tired and annoyed child who is nonetheless required to play along with adult nonsense.

alice is dragged from place to place without warning, forced to play stupid games with no good prizes, grilled over her schooling and manners and recitation and dress, scolded, judged, insulted to her face, sent away, given gifts she didn’t ask for and doesn’t like, corrected incorrectly, been subject to shifting and arbitrary rules, and then when she gets snappish with all this bullshit everyone acts like a little girl’s temper is the end of the fucking world.

alice in wonderland isn’t a drug trip or a nightmare or a metaphor, that’s just what being ten years old is LIKE. that’s why kids love it so much. even if they can’t quite articulate how, they recognize themselves in it.

btw just because ai has much lower water usage than animal agriculture and similar or less than other day-to-day activities that does not mean ai is Just Fine Actually. ai is by far one of the Easiest things to cut out that has an impact on the environment, so you probably should. there are so many short-term effects on the environment from ai that are ignored when we only discuss water usage - think the amount of land that is being used exclusively for data centres that native flora and fauna will no longer be able to make use of and that will be generally negatively affected by human activity in the area. and also if you have made the argument in the first sentence as a gotcha (which i've seen soooo much on here) and you're not vegan you're a hypocrite and a moron!

This illustration inspired by the 19th century ballet 'The Fairy Doll', which has beautiful music composed by Josef Bayer. In the ballet, a boy who works in a toy shop sees the shop's most beautiful doll, the titular Fairy Doll, come to life at night. She magically brings all of the other dolls in the shop to life, and they all dance together. :) I'm going to be selling this illustration as an A4 print at Hyper Japan 2024 (19th-21st July). I hope you like it!

Cat in a hat automaton, made by Roullet-Decamps, France, late 19th century

This automaton was produced in Paris by the company Roullet-Decamps, most likely in the late 19th or early 20th century. It has a clockwork mechanism that, when wound with the key and released by pulling the pin at the back, starts a music box and causes the cat to turn to the front and peer out of the top hat, sticking its tongue in and out while doing so, before popping back into the hat.
