This is inspirational to me
This is inspirational to a lot of US citizens, I think.
the author's barely disguised longing for a kinder world
the author's barely disguised hatred for capitalism
My new favourite archery image!
This painting is located in the Church of the Nativity in Prague, and is dated to 1663. It is also the basis of at least 3 D&D character concepts that are stuck in my head now.

Briana Boston didn't threaten anyone.
When my grandmother was sent a death threat through text message, I reported it to the police. The officer told me that "it's not considered a death threat unless the message mentions a weapon and a deadline".
As a result, they didn't do anything. Not even a verbal warning to that person.
Or, there's a double standard when it comes to billionaires and big corporations. Who'd have thought.
I'm going to keep screaming from the rooftops:
They are treating these CEOs as if they're members of our government. The cops don't touch threats unless they're made against political leaders. They don't shut down cities for a manhunt unless the victim is a political leader. They don't charge people with terrorism unless the target is political. They are admitting publicly that CEOs and corporations are the ones running this country.
Briana Boston is pretty much being charged with threatening the crown. And that should scare the hell out of people.
Remember earlier this year when Boeing very clearly had a whistleblower executed? And law enforcement didn't even look for anyone or release any info about it or anything?
People keep comparing Luigi Mangione's case to the subway murderer who got off because of systemic eugenics, but I think there's something more apt about the fact that a CEO had someone executed in recent memory, with zero attempts to find a culprit, while they spared no expense at all to find (and probably frame, it's beginning to look like) someone who shot a CEO. It's always fine to slaughter if you're rich, but if you kill the rich, they will hunt you down.
maybe people will finally start seeing the class war that the rich have been relentlessly fighting this whole time. im not hopeful though.
the level of censorship around this man is ridiculous, what happened to free speech? It’s just his name.
calling her a “copy cat” when she didn’t do anything other than repeat 3 words is insane. her bail is set at 100,000.
as of now she’s facing 15 years in jail for ‘threatening’ the ceo of the insurance company that denied her claim. and isn’t that ironic? since women always get told that ‘threats don’t mean anything unless there’s action’ when it comes to reporting stalkers, ex and present partners who threaten abuse. but now a threat warrants this disproportionate action?
It's not Luigi Mangione
The Altoona officer's story doesn't match the news reporting, there's a silencer both in the monopoly money backpack and built into the gun, a man who evaded a national manhunt for 5 days supposedly walked into a McDonalds with a hand-written confession and the murder weapon on his person one state away.
I know central Pennsylvania. My brother went to college in Altoona, I drive from there through Huntington every time I visit my parents in the next county over. I know that part of Pennsylvania like the back of my fucking hand. Sparsely populated, mostly declining railroad towns and Amish/Mennonite communities. It's spooky at night because there are no lights for miles. SCI Huntington is the oldest continuously operating prison in the state, meaning it has never been closed for major updates.
High-tech Rockview would be a sensible choice for a national news case. But they chose Huntington, antiquated, in the middle of nowhere, with the most notable nearby businesses being a Pizza Hut and a for-hire security service called Tri State Enforcement. This is where you go to be off record and off camera.
Odds are Mangione will take the fall for it, though. I doubt it will involve a trial. He'll most likely either cave and give a false confession, be extradited from PA entirely, or die in custody where no one will see it.
Remember when we said suspects were "everyone who had a claim denied by UHC"
He doesn't even fit that, he had fucking AETNA

Conservatives are waking up to the grift.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine // S04E16: Bar Association
Ways you can tell that Republicans whining about Discovery or Picard have never watched Star Trek: If they’d watched Deep Space Nine their brains would have melted from sheer right wing douchebag rage
For people who haven’t seen it: In this episode of Star Trek, which a baffling number of conservatives somehow believe is not political and not left-leaning, Rom (pictured above) is struggling with the poor wages and working conditions as an employee of his brother Quark’s bar/casino. They are from a species of hyper-capitalists who literally worship greed. Unions aren’t just considered “un-Ferengi”, they’re basically a mortal sin. Merely allowing talk of a union can get them excommunicated from their planet and banned all interstellar trade. And in this episode Rom reads and quotes The Communist Manifesto, which turns him into a union leader. And yes, it’s all portrayed as good and heroic.
Beyond that, in character terms, this was the beginning of Rom evolving from a spineless wimp into what the kids today appear to call a “giga chad”. Becoming a unionist made him irresistible to women, a leader a mong men, respected by his peers.
This episode is called Bar Association, and it was released in 1996.
