Sumw is like the vibe of living in the apocalypse not surviving only but living, the act of dancing in the rain because you can, the act of naming the spider in your pantry, the act of sleeping at each other’s side
Wilbur and Tommy having the tradition of dancing in the rain as both a way to celebrate a way of getting water to survive and a way to just have fun. Tommy naming the spider in the pantry, techno putting it in a cup when cleaning out that same pantry for their last cans of food, both phil and wilbur suffering through the ordeal of putting the spider back into that empty space left behind. The four of them all falling asleep together at night, finding comfort in knowing they can reach each other in a second if there’s any threat but also the comfort of being near enough to each other that they can rest their heads on each other shoulders, steal each other’s blankets, kick the other’s legs.
They’re still surviving, even with the quiet joy they keep. There’s still a presence of wondering if they’ll run out of food, there’s still the zombies stumbling around on the street, there’s still the scars on their skin and the nightmares in their dreams. But they’re still alive, too. They’re living
The horrors may be outside but in here we have Found Family
