-ย ava is the daughter of two hardworking, working class parents. she grew up in brompton, ontario, the middle child, sandwiched between the golden child older brother, who got a full athletic scholarship to uni, and the youngest, sheltered child who, although the leung family didnโt have much spare money hanging around, tended to get most everything she wanted.
-ย sheโs had the value of a dollar instilled in her from a young age and got her first job at fourteen, as a bus girl at the small bistro owned by her uncle. from then on, she always held a series of odd jobs -- babysitter, dog walker, whatever it is, she would do it. that still holds true to this day. she holds a part time job at a coffee shop thatโs popular with the somers student body. before she enrolled at somers, she was a barista as well for a few years (as well as doing other odd jobs along the way too), not even sure that uni was the right fit for her.ย
- truth be told, she hasnโt led much of an exciting life. ava is one who tends to sit on the sidelines rather than jump into the action. she lives vicariously through the books she reads and the stories she writes.ย
- during that time before uni, when she was working at a coffee shop in her hometown, she not only started living through the lives sheโd read about in books, but started delving into vivid fantasiesย of those she observed throughout the day, inventing entire detailed histories for them, storied dynamics, and epic tales of where their lives might lead.
- it wasnโt before long that ava started writingย these stories down. at first, it was simply a journal, but this turned into a much greater project.
- she submitted her first short story to a local magazine anonymously and didnโt think anything would come of it, too scared to attach her name to her first significant piece of work. to her shock, next month, it was printed on itโs pages.ย
- it was then that ava started thinking that maybe she wanted something moreย --- which led her to somers. the creative writing program was sensationalย and she could see herself thriving in the environement. and upon her arrival to somers, she did just that. at least, academically speaking.
- socially, still, sheโs still quite reserved, however. during her first year she still managed to keep quite to herself, although she did make friends in classes and through some extracurriculars. sheโs more of a watcherย than a participator.ย
- sheโs kind of an idealist, though, the type of girl with her head always in the clouds. honestly, she has the potential to have someone bring her crashing back down to earth so hehe we could make that happen.
- absolutely anyone and everyone she meets ( or even just seesย ) has the possibility of ending up in one of her stories. sometimes she does a good job covering up the true identity of her subjects, but other times --- well, it can be kind of obvious.
- sheโs a cozy queen tbh, sheโs v fond of sweaters, jeans, nothing too flashy really. she doesnโt like to stand out.ย
- sheโs very much an insomniac. sheโs always been tbh. now, she stays up all hours working on her writing, or school work, or whatever else there is to do.ย
- sheโs got a huge book collection, and most of her drawers are full of booksย and not clothesย ( what ? she ran out of room on her shelves !ย )
- she prefers to write on her laptop, but always keeps a small notebook and pen with her at all times in case inspiration strikes.ย
