Got one of those """support""" "you have to verify your blog within 72 hours" scams. Fortunately this one was blatantly obvious, but.
Reminder that these are not real, and also as a general rule that even if a link looks legit to be careful as it's very easy to just type out www.tumblr.com/verification and overlay it with something completely different (in this case, definitely-Rick-Astley).
There's also "I declined so many times that eventually you took away the option to shut down without updating".
Do you enjoy playing fantasy video games?
I love them
I like them
They're okay I guess
I dislike them
I hate them
I've never played a fantasy video game
Im kinda serious when I say there needs to be an investigation into how loud society is about breast cancer whilst having 0 information surrounding why it is becoming increasingly common. There are so many brands that raise money for research and paint their entire company pink.... yet I see no astonishing advancement in deciphering why wonen are more prone to cancer and why that risk is increasing. Does anyone know? Is the money being used for bullshit like "how does breast cancer effect men and fertility" instead of actual problem solving? I do feel as if womens health focuses on patching women up for use rather than solving the root of the issue. What is going on?!
Birth control. The whole thing is literally just a coverup for hormonal birth control

You know what, I'm just going to say it. The Save Act is a lousy bill. It won't do a damn thing to solve the problem and it'll create a whole bunch of new ones. Even if they do manage to pass it, half the shit in it won't hold up in court. You're wasting your energy if you're getting worked up about it.
The problem with this bill is that it is based on an entirely flawed premise: that noncitizens are voting as part of a widespread voter fraud effort.
That's just not true. Yes, you get the occasional invalid registration and sometimes that person even ends up voting but a) that's already very illegal and b) relatively speaking, it's incredibly rare. It's not something you can do at scale to tip an election. It would be a logistical nightmare to try.
And they don't need to. There are thousands of perfectly legitimate registrations floating around waiting to be exploited - which is easy to do at scale. The voter rolls are full of people who moved out of state or died and were never taken off the lists. This dopey bill makes some noises in the direction of cleaning the voter rolls but again, it's focused on removing noncitizens, not old registrations where the problem lies. And it's entirely unenforceable. There are already requirements in lots of places that the voter rolls be kept clean and they're just don't do it. Or do it intentionally badly, which is probably more likely with this bill. It'll fall apart as soon as it hits resistance.
And along the way, it's going piss off a bunch of perfectly valid citizens trying to register to vote. The increased document requirement is one thing, but requiring registration be done in person with an election official is just unnecessarily stupid. And probably not going to hold up in court.
Happy birthday, America! (x)
The future is going to think of rap the same way we presently think of yodeling.

As a lifelong Dem:
I'm not Jewish but watching people on the left not only unironically but casually repeat the kind of shit that the OG Nazis were saying in the 30s and then disregard me when I tell them that (with receipts) is scary AF. Somewhere down the line, the ideas and language of social justice got swerved in a very bad way so that antisemitism would still be "ok."
This was actually completely obvious when you realize modern social justice isn't about lifting up the needy, bit tearing down "The Oppressor" and encouraging cruelty manipulation and ostracization against those deemed as part of "the oppressor", along with the absolute insane and blatantly untrue rhetoric that Free Speech and Gun Ownership were things used only by "The Oppressor" as tools to "Oppress."
All of which i cannot possibly overstate should've been massive red flags for anyone who paid attention to how the Nazis came to power.
Ah Marxism.
So many movements but different flavors.
"we need to tear down the billionaires (commies), patriarchy (feminist), systemic white racism (blm) only then will we the oppressed be free!"
I think it would be funny to write a murder mystery where not only did every single character involved have an obvious motive to kill this mf, they were actually all attempting to murder him first, but the murder attempts all cancelled each other out all except for one. Two people tried to poison him but the poisons just happen to work as antidotes for each other, and instead of killing him only gave him the shits, and due to having the shits he couldn't go hunting that day like he had planned, foiling the plans of the one who had conditioned his favourite hunting horse to panic and bolt at the cue of a whistle, and the other murder attempt of tampering with his gun so that it would have exploded his whole face off.
The whole mystery isn't about who could have done it or how, but who was the one who got lucky and actually succeeded.
Sherlock Holmes and The Case of Perhaps We'd Best Leave This One Alone, Watson. There Appears To Be An Excess Of Armed Maniacs In The Vicinity.
When I was in high school a friend of mine would host murder mystery dinners once or twice a year. They were the kind you could buy as a kit -- I don't even know if they exist anymore -- and everyone was assigned (or chose) a character, then received a booklet of clues to share. The idea was to spend an evening in a one-shot LARP designed like an Agatha Christie novel.
I was a year above most of them at school so they threw a "goodbye" murder mystery for me just before graduation, and about 2/3 of the way through the game we all realized that everyone had at least attempted to kill the victim. The game then shifted from "whodunnit" to "who succeeded in dunninit" which we all felt was not only super fun but above the usual level of narrative complexity for those games.
After we solved it, we discovered that the game wasn't from a kit -- the host had written it herself and meticulously printed out the booklets in replica style of the kits. It was the best going-away party I think I could possibly have had.
This was part of the plot of Clue the movie
i just tried to use 2030 as an example of some distant far off year of the future.
>4 years
ive always wanted to plot sci-fi novels based on the distance between their settings and publishing years
How do you mean?
I have a theory that as the sci-fi genre got older there were more cases of reality catching up to well know novels and so the future became much further away to avoid the embarrassment of being the sort of idiot who thought we'd have flying cars in 2015
Oh you mean 'plot' as in charting out how it's changed over time, not the narrative of a book you're writing, gotcha.
(sends horse slurs at you)
Am I doing this right?
Well if your goal was to hurt my feelings then yes.
Horse slurs like “nag”? Or more imaginative shit like “dog meat” or “glue base”?
You’re in hate crime territory there watch out
