So this is why people think Duke is the best behaved one.
if a fic says tim lives at wayne manor and it's NOT set during a specific part of robin '93 it takes me out of the narrative immediately. if this is a rr09-onwards tim please acknowledge that something is deeply wrong with him and that he bought the theater where bruce's parents died and converted it into an apartment and base of vigilante operations. know your herstory or whatever. why did he do that
Bruce goes to parent/teacher conference day and hears all the things he’s expecting to hear. Damian is interacting more with other students , having less violent outbursts. Duke is a natural leader. Tim doesn’t go here - wait.
“Tim Drake,” Bruce repeats. “Timothy Drake, doesn’t go to this school?”
“I believe he dropped out last year, actually.”
“…Okay,” Bruce says, and then realizes that it looks bad if he didn’t already know that. “Yes, of course. So many kids, I lose track of them.”
Tim gets a text five minutes later telling him when he’s out of ‘class’ to come to the manor immediately. Because he has been tailing a possible new rogue that teaches at the community college, Tim does not see that text for the threat it is and replies, ‘K.’
Tim: From what I learned stalking you-
Bruce: you have to understand that's not a normal way to start a sentence.
Dick:...let him finish.
everyone in young justice separately sending this tweet to tim
Jason comes back from the dead and, as he's still a bit out of it, heads to the manor.
Crawling straight up through six feet of compacted earth is hard, especially after waking up suddenly in a coffin, so after he makes it inside, he sits down to rest on the couch.
And immediately falls asleep.
Hours later, Bruce returns home to find Jason's body, covered in dirt, dug up from the grave and left on his couch.
this embroidery shit is easy
joker killed batman instead of jason

For those wondering - Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 #338 (Hobgoblin sprays Spider-man with poison) and #339 (Doc Ock reveals the poison only becomes lethal when combined with cocaine).
Something that’s very disturbing to think about with Jason & Steph is the fact that those two fundamentally lacked support systems which I think is what really led to their deaths.
I’ve talked before about how I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the only two Robin’s to die in the preboot were the two Robin’s that never had teams but Steph & Jason didn’t just lack a support system in their vigilante lives but their personal lives as well.
A huge piece of understanding Robin Jason is understanding how much he lacked proper support systems back then. School was his only connection to his kids his age, and he didn’t benefit much from that connection, his life was essentially: manor, school, Robin, repeat.
Even as Robin Jason didn’t really have any friends, or even much of a life outside of Bruce. Jason loved school, but his school life was pretty depressing. Jason kept to himself, he didn’t have the time to participate in extracurriculars even when he wanted to and his peers didn’t view him very positively. Jason was also really isolated from the rest of the hero community, there was his stint with the Titans, but it was pretty brief. He was also penpals with Kid Devil, but for the most part, he just had Batman.
However Steph’s situation was even worse than Jason’s, Jason at the very least had Bruce & Alfred and a stable home with the manor. Steph didn’t have any stable home life whatsoever, she wasn’t even going to school having dropped out a little bit after her pregnancy & had just started working towards her G.E.D when she became Robin, the only people Steph had her own age to rely on were Tim & Cass and Steph had no adult to offer her support as her mother didn’t fully recover from her drug addiction until after Steph’s ‘death’ and both her mother & father would allow criminals to stay in their house.
I really think the lack of support is one of the main reasons for Jason and Steph dying in universe since they were the two Robins without support systems. When Bruce was a jerk Dick and Tim could be like ‘fine I’m going to go hang out with the Teen Titans or Young Justice’ but Jason and Steph could only be like ‘oh no’ plus Bruce would deliberately try to take away Steph’s support systems that she did have multiple times like when he ordered Cass to stop training with Steph. Dick and Tim also had support systems outside their lives as vigilantes Tim had multiple friend groups as a civilian both with Ives & with the boys at Brentwood and Dick was shown to have his own civilian life as well (though it was often shown in the form of girls he dated in college) but Jason & Steph had no support in their civilian lives, for the most part their vigilante lives were their lives.
Jason didn’t have much of a life outside of Robin & Bruce except for a penpal and Steph’s life outside of Spoiler was basically working at part time jobs or studying for her G.E.D her most important relationships came from being Spoiler.
When you think about the lack of support or stability Jason & Steph had both inside and outside their costumes they really didn’t stand a chance.
