being in the rain wasn’t something that bothered him, he hardly gave the raindrops a second thought the moment that they started. while he wore a gas mask the majority of the time ( a cause of his constant use of toxic chemicals ), it didn’t cover his hair, leaving it subjected to getting soaked. sitting outside of the building, he crouched against the exterior -- despite the rain that fell, he still was not going to let his guard down. on top of the sudden storm, everything around them was frozen; making the rain even colder.
the other member of his team was inside, he wasn’t sure just what she was doing, but he didn’t pay much mind to it in the first place. caustic enjoyed the freshness of teams being split up into twos, but if it was up to him, he would prefer to work on his own -- therefore, he treated almost every situation as if he were a solo. keeping his eyes trained ahead of him, he could feel his hands starting to go numb from the cold. the only time that he dragged his eyes away from the landscape was when he heard the door to the house they were bunkering down in open up, and a pair of soft footsteps exit the threshold. lowering the barrel of his gun, he cocked an eyebrow to pose a question -- if she came out here, then certainly something must have been wrong. maybe she’d seen an enemy from the window? though instead of an answer, the blonde tugged on his arm, clearly trying to get him to move in the direction of shelter. standing up to his full height, it was not his intent, but the fact that he was just very tall that caused him to loom over her slightly. ❝ what is this about? ❞ he asked, irritated that she would come out to interrupt him without good reason.
