tumblr is great bc its like a diary where I can take other peoples diary entries and glue them into my own diary
i love declining birth rates 🥰 "what a horrible problem! society will collapse!" oopsie it looks like you're gonna have to make having children worth it 😊 teehee you're gonna have to improve society in order to fix this problem, or it will all collapse. oh noooooo. how horrible. :3c
This phrase has already entered my vocabulary re: media criticism where like. The viewer has a concrete view of what they expect a story to be based on the tropes and cliches they're used to seeing together, and when that doesn't happen, they judge it as a failed depiction of what they assumed it was going to be instead of judging it as what it actually is.
"This show is problematic because the hero didn't kill the villain at the end": When does he steal the bread?
"These two characters who were close friends throughout the series don't kiss at the end! What the fuck?": When does he steal the bread?
"This feels like it's missing a conclusion! Like, the protagonist does bad stuff and because of a critical decision he makes as a result of his major character flaws, meets tragedy in the end! Where's the part where he learns better and brings is love back from the dead and becomes a good guy and gets a happy ending?": When does he steal the fucking bread??
I heard this out as "When criticizing something, you must judge it for what it is, not what it isn't"
#this is why so many of us urge people to get a wider diet of stories
Suckfuckers United: new game, $80, unplayable on release, cash shop has $20 skins
Plumboy 21XX: “retro” indie game. creator just posted something really dire on Twitter & you’re not sure if you want to keep your preorder even though they promise it’s gonna help find episodes 1 and 5 of the animated series
Gug: game released in 1999. You remember it being good. It’s not.
Dark Cave growing beneath your house’s foundations without you knowing and for years the semi-sentient ungrowth has learned to hunger for you, specifically, and it’s almost time: self explanatory

The entire point of, OK, my phone really wants to call it Anastasia so I guess we’re doing that? The entire point of Anastasia (as administered by a board-certified Anastasiologist) during sugary. Sugary? Haven’t I suffered enough? The entire point of Anastasia during augury. Jesus Christ. Hold up. You know what, augury is preferable to sugary. Augury is obviously performed by an auger (makes sense if you give it a think) whereas sugary is performed by…? A sugardaddy? NO THANK YOU. Anyway. The entire point of Anastasia is so that you don’t know what music your sturgeon. Fuck right off. Was playing. While you were under. You’re not supposed to wake up from Anastasia and immediately realize you managed to get earwormed by Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” during your sugary.
genuinely so obsessed with this twitter post
there was another update
couldn't find a thread with both the followups together
Not on purpose!
"like a boss" by lonely island was released ten thousand years ago when mammoths still roamed the big wide world. feel old yet?
Illuminate the Mundane: Werner Reiterer’s Street Chandelier (2006-12)

Thanks for the info prev!! Still a little funny to think about tbh lol
"Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo?"
Girls Scouts encounter Bigfoot the most frequently. Part of their oath is to keep him a secret because he’s very kind and makes up 30% of their revenue due to his fervent love for thin mints.
As a Girl Scout leader, I am telling you that this is NOT true, and any former girl scout that says it is, should think about what they are saying and what oaths they may have sworn in the past
I like that she looks anxious and on edge
she looks like she'd say "jeepers!"
