Its a little after 5am and I just woke up from probably the most vivid dream I've had in a decade.

So I was catsitting for famous comedian Gianmarco Soresi except he was a senator of a non-cyberpunk themed Night City. I do not know if Gianmarco Soresi has a cat or is well known for having a cat as I do not watch his stuff very often. She was a very cute all gray cat.

Anyways, not-Senator Soresi had a big event where he was doing a presentation about making the Night City Police Department better at emergency response but also the presentation was kind of like a kahoot except it was just him playing in front of a big crowd in a conference hall. The questions were different emergencies and he was supposed to answer with the correct way to respond to them, but he kept getting them wrong because all the options were bad and then he just would look sadly at the audience.

For some reason, I was supposed to be there with his cat just kind of holding her and walking around with her (she was very important to his campaign and public image so obviously she had to be there). Then at the end of the presentation, she was put with a bunch of other cats in something I can only describe as like a daycare like you'd have for kids at a big event where the parents can drop off the kids and then leave to be in the same building but just not watching the kids. I can't think of what this kind of daycare is called or a better way to describe it since i just woke up and can't brain yet.

This cat hated it when I wore a hat. I learned this by trying to talk to her after I wore a hat and she got violent. I then took off the hat and this cat looked so confused and hurt by my actions.

Not-Senator Gianmarco Soresi then picked up his cat and took her to I think go bar-hopping while I went back to my hotel room to sleep before I had to hop on a flight back to my house. I remember the hotel being incredibly detailed too but it was a weird almost disney hotel so thats odd.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed whatever the fuck my brain cooked up to entertain me while I was sleeping.

I think the archivist is a manifestation of how people perceived jon after the eyepocalypse , a lot of the externals in tmagp relate to perception in some way ( Ink5oul's whole influencer thing, Needles calling 999 so someone else knows what they've done, etc ) and since the first time we saw the archivist was in the protocol universe I wouldn't be shocked if they were the same. We can tell that people in the archives universe don't exactly have positive opinions of jon, even viewing him as a monster, so the archivist is everything they thought jon was. Could also explain why the archivist seems disgusted (?) By jon if they're connected to him in some way

In all seriousness though, I don't think it's him. I don't really think it will turn out to be anyone from tma. This might just be denial, but I don't think we'll ever actually know what happened to jmart after towerfall. It makes this quote from Jon mean so much more

Literally will never recover from the character Jon Sims. Cursed by spiders from age 8. Acted skeptical of horrific entities while fighting said entities. Tried to cut off his own finger repeatedly. Partook in an enemies-to-lovers romance in which only he believed them to be enemies. Short. Kidnapped at least 3 times. Surrounded by queer women who are constantly threatening to kick his ass. No understanding of pop culture. Possessed by a purveyor of apocalyptic beat poetry. Said the first “I love you” in the show, directed at a cat that was biting him. Called a merry-go-round “thrilling.” Metaphysically disassembled anyone who was mean to his boyfriend. Said “good lord” unironically. Asked a murderous Russian clown why she didn’t sound Russian. He was even bi

And he was neglected as a child, and he found the idea that his grandmother thought he might like to read picture books when he was eight years old insulting, and he was bullied, and he could never read more than one book from the same author, and he eats rum raisin ice cream, and he knows what a meme is, and he start going grey before he hit 40, and and and…

He’s such a plethora of things. We spent 200 episodes with him so we know a great deal about him, but we’ll never know it all. He’s one of the most fleshed-out, well-developed characters I’ve ever encountered in any piece of media or literature. Most novels I’ve read don’t contain quite so many personal details about the protagonist.

The culminating effect of all the minutiae we learn about Jon, and all the experiences we as the audience endure alongside him, is that TMA evokes in its audience an unmatched feeling of verisimilitude. Jon seems more authentically human, more real, to the audience (or to me at least) than most characters I’ve encountered in literature, television, or even other audio dramas. Because our focus character is Jon, and Jon is such a convincing facsimile of a real person, the whole fictional world he occupies is more easy to immerse oneself in than it would be otherwise.

Of course, that phenomenon can’t be solely attributed to the authenticity of Jon’s character, both in terms of writing and performance. But I would argue that it’s a major factor.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. All this to say I too will literally never recover from the character Jon Sims
