common advice for social anxiety is to tell yourself "people aren't going to think less of you just because you said something a bit daft" but the thing is. sometimes they will. and you just have to learn to be cool with that and to treat it as a dnd random encounter rather than letting it ruin your whole day
alright. okay. i mean this gently and in good faith that some of you really don't realise how your words are coming across, but. every time you jump into a conversation about (e.g.,) rap or leg shaving with "This is MY reason for [not listening to rap/shaving my legs], and my reason is nothing to do with [racism/upholding misogynistic beauty standards/etc]", you are making a conversation that has nothing to do with you, about you. Your preferences (and, by extension, you) are not under attack. In fact, mainstream society socially rewards your preferences – and this is the problem. A group of people who don't listen to rap because they buy into racist rhetoric that it's lowbrow/violent/misogynistic/insert other crap here will not care that you don't listen to rap because it's overstimulating or because it's just not your cup of tea; if anything, they're going to see your reasoning as further "proof" that their reasoning is justified. A group of people who think all women should shave their hair off because body hair on women is gross/ugly/masculine/insert other crap here will not care that you shave your legs because of sensory issues or because it's easier to apply moisturizer; they will only care that you are providing further justification for their expectations. So, if you actually care about the wider social issues around these kinds of conversations (which, you know, you should), the best thing you can do is be quiet and listen. Reblog the post without commentary or don't reblog it at all.
a few doors down from me my neighbors have a squirrel bar nailed to the tree in front of the sidewalk, not exactly this but something like this:
it's been there for years and they never "stock" it so it's just sitting there. anyway, i thought it would be cute to make a little squirrel out of sculpey and leave it on one of the stools in the middle of the night. i also made a little sculpey beer bottle with its own label.
it lasted exactly one day and now it is gone. it didn't fall off, i stuck it on with tape. what do you think happened to it? your most fantastical and wrong answers only, please

i wanted to provide another update because there has been more activity at the nut bar
a few weeks ago i sculpted a new patron:
and put him in the bar. the next day he was gone. a couple weeks later he reappeared painted... but with ANOTHER new guest: a 3D printed squirrel based on the first one i sculpted (with a bottle!)

hey not to advertise these twats (so don't look them up) but some absolute fucks in paris allegedly created a service where you can "rent air conditioning" (taking advantage of a climate apocalypse) and they make you pay 700€ a month for AC that costs 200€ for life.

the removal of physical media is not the inevitable progression of improving tech, its like the removal of the 3.5mm jack: purely a result of profit physical games still account for about 1/5th of all sales of video games
