Silver Slippers ♥ Muffy and Violet
Sleep escaped the feline woman after a night of travelling and herding a lost little lamb of a nurse to the local Inn. She tossed and turned for a few hours, unfamiliar in the creaky bed, before finally giving up and busying herself. Muffy sat on the chilly floor and unpacked her many clothes, hanging them up in the small closet. “Oh, this won’t do.” She frowned at the cramped cubby, full to capacity already and not even half of her clothes were even up. “I’ll have to get some organizers or something…” she mumbled, rifling through her suitcase. Suddenly she took pause, uncovering a pair of silver booties. She’d never really worn them before, you’d think out of her entire wardrobe she’d have something to go with them. She held them in her hands, attempting to gauge their size in relation to the dirty old clogs that belonged to the nurse, Violet. They seemed roughly the same, if not slightly bigger.
She smiled, setting them aside as she fell backwards off her haunches and splayed out her legs, finally feeling sleepy. But now the sun was up! She couldn’t go to sleep yet, it’d ruin her entire sleeping pattern. She must’ve looked a sight, probably horrid rings under her eyes, but she decided to give the shoes to Violet before she left town. Maybe they’d get some use then.
Muffy threw together a cozy ensemble before grabbing her clutch and the shoes, really feeling the holiday spirit. She stumbled out into the bright morning, the sun reflecting off the snow, and headed toward the Inn to meet Violet with hot chai teas and a little Christmas present from moi.
Violet rubbed sleep out of her eyes with a yawn. She almost always woke up around 6 in the morning, but after last night’s escapade with the fashionable Muffy, she found herself awfully tired and craving more sleep. She decided to fight this feeling and she rolled out of bed, feeling about the bed for her socks which had been discarded in her sleep.
After being unsuccessful in this, she shrugged. “At least I have my shoes,” she mumbled, smiling at the memory of the previous night. Muffy really had been to kind to her. Although she missed Fenith Island dearly, this quaint little town would occupy a special place in her heart. Violet hugged a pillow to her chest.
A knock could be heard from her door, a soft, feminine knock at that. Violet’s heart began beating quickly—she wasn’t even dressed yet! She attempted to mat down her bedhead and splashed some cold water on her face, attempting to brighten it up a bit.
Forgetting she was still in pajamas, a striped, cream and white laced tanktop and only her underwear, Violet raced to answer whoever was at the door.
Muffy balanced two freshly brewed chai teas from Ruby in their tray, and the silver booties were haphazardly stuffed in her purse as she made her way up the staircase of the Inn. The thought that Violet might still be sleeping only occurred to her as she reached the room Ruby had informed her that she stayed in. She knocked quietly, she could come back later if she was still asleep. But she heard the patter of someone moving about in the room, and smiled, tucking her purse behind her waist.
Violet, her hair sticking out in all directions, stuck her little head out of the door, looking sleepy and adorable. “Hey,” Muffy greeted, “Sorry if I woke you. I couldn’t sleep very well so I thought I’d have breakfast with you, if that’s okay?” She smiled warmly, her cheeks rosy from the chilly walk over, and held up the teas in offering.
"Here," Muffy pulled the shoes out of her bag, "put these on and we can go eat downstairs, Ruby makes the best homemade donuts… and french toast… and bacon and eggs!"

"!!!!!!"
The brunette couldn't contain her shock at who had greeted her. Muffy, whom she admired so much, seeing her like this? Violet doubted she would ever live down the embarrassment. "U-um, please excuse me for a moment!" Violet dashed towards her bathroom and combed her hair out at lightning speed, then returned to the door, ready to answer properly. Little did she know, her less-than-modest pajamas were still on, rather than her regular nurse's outfit.
Stepping out towards the blonde woman, she smiled and reached toward one of the drinks. "Th-thank you, Muffy. This smells delicious. Tea is really good for you..." she smiled, eyes dancing towards her feet in shyness. Upon doing this, she noticed her bare legs, and finally sank in that she was indeed outside her room in pajamas. A crimson blush, almost neon in nature, crept across Violet's cheeks. "I-I-I'm so sorry, but please excuse me one more time!"
When she returned, her blush had been tamed, slightly. She was now wearing the same thing she'd wore the previous night. "B-breakfast sounds lovely, Muffy...I am so sorry for my behavior."
