1. this blog is 18+ only. don't expect to see smut necessarily, but i don't want to talk to minors here or expose them to heavy content. please be an adult!

i'm okay with personal blogs following me! if you have a roleplay sideblog, please let me know!! i will only be following other rp blogs through my primary to keep my dashboard topical to rp, but! if you want to send anons or DMs, don't feel discouraged! i love any & all interactions!

2. this blog is iconless! anya is a low-poly videogame woman and i don't want to find a faceclaim for her, even with the source of inspiration behind her appearance being an actual actress. i'm here to write, not to do fancy aesthetics!

3. mouthwashing is really content warning-heavy. the game contains themes of abuse, sexual assault, unwanted pregnancy, gore, suicide / suicidal ideation, death, cannibalism, and various other things. trigger warnings will be tagged. i expect you to do the same with common triggering topics.

i will not be directly writing any sexual violence or suicide on here, but it is a significant part of anya's story. terrible things have happened to her, and it may very well be mentioned. let me know if any of the triggers mentioned are absolutely avoidable for you and i will accommodate and keep the topics to a minimum!

4. keeping the above in mind, i don't do proship type stuff. i am here to respectfully portray and explore the horrors, not get off to it or glorify it. i am also cautious about writing with portrayals of jimmy, given what he did to anya. any interactions with jimmy writers will be done selectively at my discretion and must absolutely be plotted ahead of time. if you write jimmy, please ask before you send him this way!

5. plotting & OOC discussion is encouraged to write with me here. we need to at least establish a baseline between our characters before i can do improvised stuff, given the nature of mouthwashing's story. i will, of course, be defaulting to some kind of scenario where anya is alive because... well, that's kind of required for roleplay, most of the time. :-) please DM me to plot. don't be scared to approach me - if you want to write with me, i want to talk to you!

6. no AI generated images/writing. not sure why i even have to say that, but i know some people in the rpc have taken to using AI to replace their writing. don't do that with me

7. crossover, multi-verse, multi-ship, duplicate-friendly, and OC friendly. i will write with duplicates of the same character, including other anya writers.

shipping isn't my focus here, but i'm open to shipping if there's tons of plotting/interaction beforehand! i don't ship anya with anyone from mouthwashing, though i'm very open to other non-romantic dynamics! i write my own portrayal of anya as a lesbian, so don't expect romance to happen between her and men.

" comes a quiet yet firm voice of concern, matched only by their worrisome gaze which finds her upon couch close by. carefully, a tray topped with nutrition is set down before her ; a glass of orange juice, a few slices of healthy bread, & a bowl of steaming borscht soup. " this is the first time i've made this kind of soup, " it wasn't particularly difficult, but ... as they take a seat nearby, eyes flit down briefly to fingers stained pink with beetroot juice. " it tastes quite nice ... i hope it makes you feel more well. being sick is never fun. if there's anything else you need, i'm here for you. "

anya feebly smiles at her friend — she can't always tell who it is that's fronting, but it doesn't matter much to her, as they're all her friend, collectively — when they set down a tray before her. the meal looks incredible and well-thought-out, an act of kindness that touches her. she sniffles, wiping her nose with the back of her hand. ❛ ah, this is so kind of you, my friend. i didn't expect... ❜ she trails off as a shiver runs through her body. ❛ didn't expect this at all. and you made borscht, just for me? ❜

she can't help but let out a slight chuckle at the sight of the pink straining their fingers. ❛ and your fingers match your hair now...! ❜

she makes a gesture for them to sit beside her, sniffling again, but this time it's more than just the cold that sneaked up on her. ❛ you're very kind to me... please, sit closer if you'd like. i'd enjoy the company. but– but not too close. i'd hate to get you sick, too. ❜

It was enough to tamper with the health of the crew members, and leaving it at such would prove consequences in the haul for the company. "I believe it has to do with the vent in the medbay. Are there too many objects near the opening?" The android asked, staring back at the nurse.

daisuke makes anya smile, in spite of the odds being so against her throughout this trip. there are things she cannot say, cannot tell another soul for fear of losing her job (or worse repercussions) but, by god, daisuke's vibrant energy is a near-universal constant in cheering anya up. it's one of those things that just makes her smile, to hear his little ideas and humorous hijinks.

❛ yes, i think that'd be a good idea! we could use more of your artwork to light up this ship... so long as nobody knows they're being parodied, of course. ❜ she grins conspiratorially, loving the idea of an in-joke between the intern and herself. she'd never had many friends back on earth, not close ones. fostering a friendship with daisuke is the next best thing - or maybe even better, considering they'll be spending more than a year on this ship together...

this poor woman.  her laughter is sweet but wavers, and caesar senses the hesitation underneath.  it’s a state of being he’s not personally familiar with (he’s the overly decisive, imposing type, you see), however he’s witnessed it often enough to understand the list of whys. her words, decisive in their intent, reflect upon this the same —-  a better man than most.  she, too, had witnessed the cruelty of men, hadn’t she? 

what a sorrowful, heartbreaking story;  to hear woman after woman speak of her mistreatment at the hands of the opposite sex, some stuck in the belief of ‘this is simply how it is’.  hopefully, this woman believed in a better future.  she simply deserved as much.

“  it would be stupid of me to be hostile to you.  mistakes happen.  ”   if someone felt regret, if someone didn’t intend to, if someone cowered post - mistake  …   well, this old man (hellbent on the idea of ‘toughness’; an indestructible force in his own mind, simply to bring himself peace) could perhaps forgive.  

“  and don’t worry about me.  despite my age, i’m still pretty capable. in fact —-  do you need help with anything else? i can help you move some more boxes if need be.  a wonderful lady like you shouldn’t have to worry about exhausting herself lifting things.  ”

but before he even moved, before his self-sacrificial nature surfaced in full —-  he had one more question.

this man has a distinct accent that's different from her own, but different from the numerous americans in the vicinity all the same; is he from europe, as well? it always marvels anya how learning english had opened the door to not simply meeting native english-speakers, but those from other countries who'd taken similar linguistic journeys as herself, to learn what was commonly spoken by so many. especially when moving into a place like new york, that type of knowledge truly comes in handy.

❛ my name? o- oh! it's anya. ❜ she tries to tamper down her accent when she speaks, just for the sake of ease of understanding. not that she can truly take the distinctly slavic tinge away from each and every pronunciation, but she hopes it'll be easier to understand to a fellow ESL person. ❛ it's very kind of you to offer help. i- i wouldn't pressure you to or force you, if you have better going on... but if you'd like to help, the help is always appreciated. ❜

her smile is genuine, appreciative. she's never known many older men to be this kind to her, and that's saying a lot, considering they've only just met one another. lifting one of her boxes up into her arms, she nods to a nearby building. ❛ my apartment isn't far at all. well, it's, um, the one that's above the sandwich shop over there. ❜

cheaper rent. the aroma of deli meat and toasted bread sometimes wafts up through the apartment floor. it's not the worst smell, though it makes her hungrier than she feels she should be on any given day.

anya smiles at the question, her usually gloomy attitude brightening whenever anyone asks a kind question.

❛ i really like winter, too! i think spring might be my favorite season, personally, since i'm a real plant-lover... especially early spring when the weather is still very cool and breezy! my favorite thing about spring would probably be when the flowers start to bloom.

i think hyacinths are up there among my favorite flowers to see every spring. they have such vibrant and varied coloration! i'd grow some of my own, but i don't think the apartment i live at would be the best environment for them... e- even so, though, i think they're so lovely to see. ❜

it's clear from the enthusiasm in her words that anya really does like plants; if one were to step into her bedroom on earth, they'd find various calendars, planners, and posters themed around flowers - and, of course, several potted plants. even on the tulpar, she liked to decorate with some plants here and there to liven up the place.

❛ winter is good, though. i actually kind of like how long the nights are... it feels much more peaceful and quiet at times, when the whole world goes dark so soon. ❜

Anya, The doctors finally gave the okay for me to try out writing with the new prosthetics, still working on it. Hope my writing isn't too indecipherable, but I hear doctors and nurses . First thing I wanted to do was write to you all, but you first specifically. You have a good heart, Anya. you always have. There's strength in remaining kind and goodhearted and I'm sorry for the will and thought you've had to expend just to survive circumstances out of your control. I'm sorry the world isn't kinder, I'm sorry for the things I can't give back, for the things I can't fix, for the things I did and the things I didn't do.

I'm sorry I didn't do more, I didn't realize how tangled up I was in everything he was telling me. I was walking on eggshells, trying not to rock the boat, trying not to give him a reason so he didn't lash out, so things didn't escalate. And it didn't make a bit of difference. He found a reason anyway, and you all paid the price.

Not being able to talk gave me a lot of time to think, and seeing him the way you did -- Seeing him for what he was -- gave me a lot to think about. You deserve more than an apology, you deserved more and far better than what I gave. But an apology is all I can give. I'm sorry, Anya. I'm so sorry you were living like that for so long, terrified of him. I'm sorry I didn't do more to make you feel protected, supported, I'm sorry you all paid for my inaction, I'm sorry I put you in a situation where you had to do what you did to be safe, that should've never been on your shoulders.

I don't expect this apology to be accepted, but you, all of you, deserve one anyways. I'd love to have the chance to be there for you, really be there for you this time, if you'd have me. But, if not, I understand.

anya's taken several days to write back; there's a clenching in her chest that starts whenever she looks over the words. on one hand, she's glad that curly could receive the medical attention that anya could never fully provide to him with the limited resources aboard the tulpar. on the other hand, hearing these reminders of a time past really, really hurts in ways that are too numerous to put into words.

she finally does write out something, keeping her words in measured print in the wake of being told by some that her cursive is a bit ... indecipherable.

curly, it's so wonderful to hear from you and know that you're receiving the treatment and medical care that you've needed for far too long. i hope the medical staff is treating you kindly and making all of the accommodations that you need. your handwriting is fine. probably better than my own. ha-ha<- (me laughing as i write this) i appreciate your apologies. what happened on that ship is the greatest burden my memory caries. i'm not sure i'll ever be able to truly move on, but knowing that you regret not doing enough is... helpful. thank you. i'll never undersand your inaction, but i won't fault you after the crash. it was never your choice to end up disabled. i did the best that i could to care for you, and i wouldn't change that if i could go back and choose not to. you never could tell me back then if you wanted to live or die, and i wasn't going to kill you. i could never truly hate you. forgiveness itself is... complicated. i think the best thing we could do from this point on is keep in contact, if you want to show me you mean what you're saying. i'd like that, actually, as i do miss you. i care about you. i care so much it hurts. i'd love to stay in touch. your friend, anya

BEST EXPERIENCE: the general reception anya has had on this blog has led to some of the most refreshing, fun times i've had on an rp blog in a good while! to me, also, the best part of roleplay is the friends i make out of character. ^_^ in-character interactions are so much more fun when i know who i'm writing with!

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS: i think the biggest one would be a refusal to communicate / cutting me off with no explanation. that, and people who refuse to interact with those without a real-life faceclaim because that's just silly and superficial to me

MUSE PREFERENCES: womennnn. canons from series i really love. well-rounded ocs. also, canon characters that i'm not super familiar with but have a lot of love poured into them!

PLOTS OR MEMES: plotting is the queen but memes are her noble knights. or something. i like both, but plotting is my lifeblood!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: i prefer at least one or two paragraphs to really round things out, but it's not a requirement. i think 3-4 paras is where i tend to shine the most. a nice mix of dialogue and prose is also lovely!

BEST TIME TO WRITE: anytime the motivation strikes!!!

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): a little bit yes, and a little bit no? i'm way more outgoing than (post-crash) anya, but a lot of anya's personality traits and anxious mannerisms do speak to me. the trauma she goes through is a bit close to home and that's one of the reasons i took to her so quickly.

anya can't help but laugh a little at swansea's words. ❛ were you, really? ❜ she looks at her co-worker, amused, trying to imagine the man before her as a mere baby. she can kind of imagine what he looks like bald, but the baby part is less easily done ... though, it does make her curious. she knows that swansea has a picture of his dog in utility. a nurse can't help but wonder...
