Send me a ◈ and I will respond with 3-5 scenarios I’ve thought about or could see our characters in.
retrouvailles ; cheren + touya
starter for @nuveman·
Cheren’s day began like anyother.
He had what people called aschedule, he was sure to follow it to a point every morning. He woke up, didstretches, showered, ate breakfast, wrote in his journal, and then left forwork. All of this would be done before eight in the morning – something thatmost would find unappealing or tedious. But to Cheren, it brought stability. The nineteen-year-old was not fond of change, even though he understood it wasnecessary. The more that things remained the same, the better.
But no, there had been nothinghinting to an old friend’s arrival that morning.

It was only morning but so far it was already shaping up to be the best day that Touya had had in ages. He woke up at the break of dawn so as to time his arrival in Aspertia Cty to perfectly coincide with Cheren’s class schedule, wanting to make his first meeting with his best friend as inconvenient as possible. It was of no interest to him to meet up when he was free—After two years without as much as a ‘what’s up?’ he should be happy to see him even if it were on a hospital bed.
At precisely 7:59 he was already inside the school’s office, screaming bloody murder over needing to see Cheren, making a huge deal about how essential it was that he inform him of ‘something personal’ that very instant, and reacting with exaggerated disgust when one of the secretaries suggested simply leaving him a note. Once everyone in the office had grown too exasperated to continue trying to deny him entry, they sent an assistant to deal with his case and take him to Cheren personally.
Phase one complete.
He and the assistant stood in front of the classroom for a while, bickering back and forth because Touya wanted, no scratch that—Touya needed Cheren to come out. Simply asking him to would not be enough. He’d have to be talked into it, and that meant that Touya needed someone that could make him think that it was urgent he did so. Such was his insistence that the assistant caved as quickly as he started resisting, so he went in and convinced Cheren into stepping outside.
Phase two complete.
Now Touya found himself at a crossroads. The simplest thing to do next was apologize for not keeping contact and asking him if he’d like to catch up over coffee after class was over, but that was as considerate as it was boring. Touya wanted the fun option, the option that would make a funny story years from then when Cheren would finally be getting over it. He slid past him into the classroom, thanking his lucky stars that his friend was as blind as he was intelligent.
Phase three complete.
Blending in with the surrounding chaos was a piece of cake. Between the paper planes and inconsolable tantrums Touya’s half-assed writing on an empty seat in the back seemed quaint in comparison. The only thing that made him stand out from the rest of the schoolchildren was just that, his height. That in itself could be easily hidden by slouching though, so he did just that. Congratulations were in order, now there was only one last thing to do: wait.
I Just Wanted to Thank You || N & Touya
@nuveman
Being back in Unova hadn’t gone nearly as bad as N had feared it might. Most people ignored him; he was just another traveler on the road. Those who looked at him usually didn’t recognize him. He kept to himself and made no trouble.
But having faced Ghetsis before Kyurem, he’d decided there was someone else he needed to face, too.
So it was about time he did, wasn’t it?
Knocking on Touya’s door didn’t seem difficult in theory. All he had to do was tap his knuckles on wood and wait for a response. In practice, however, it didn’t feel near as simple. His mind spun with all the negative possibilities. What if Touya wanted nothing to do with him? N couldn’t blame the other, should that be the case. He had not been on the right side of the fight, plus, Reshiram had–
Maybe it was better not to dwell on it. It wasn’t him who suffered the consequences…
What finally prompted him to knock, standing before the boy’s door in Nuvema Town, was the need to say something. The two needed to talk about what had happened, if only for N to have a chance to express his gratitude. Gratitude for someone showing him that maybe, just maybe, everything wasn’t quite as black and white as he’d once thought.
He let his knuckles hit the wood, and waited for a response.
As luck would have it, it just so happened that Touya was home alone that day while his mom went out for groceries. He wasn’t expecting her back for about a half hour longer, so when he heard someone knocking on the door downstairs he immediately started to feel suspicious.
There was only a handful of people who knew he was there, most only allowed to know because they truly didn’t care that there was a person of importance in their midst.
His mind flooded with possibilities. Bianca? Impossible, she was too busy with her fieldwork to visit even if she would have wanted to. Hilda? Unlikely, she would never show up unannounced. Cheren was off in Aspertia and anyone else was too far away to be a real possibility. He momentarily pondered if maybe his dad had free time and wanted to swing by but then he eliminated that thought as well for being too optimistic.
So who could it be? His heart pounded like a drum within his chest as he walked down the stairs. He went through a mental list of all the people who knew where he lived, checking them off one by one until finally he figured that the only way he could be sure was by opening the door. So he did, and promptly his eyes widened in shock.
It was N, the boy who’d single-handedly changed his life forever, and in Touya’s opinion, for the worst.
His instinct told him to shut the door, but his heart prevented him from doing so. Meanwhile, his brain couldn’t make sense of the situation fast enough to construct a verbal response so all he could do is nod. Nod and nod and nod. It was far too cruel of an irony for him to have lost two years of his life searching for N only for him to show up at his door, far too cruel for him to not comment on.
“It was about damn time, you know.”

“ Interesting, how interesting … “
TheDreamyard, while having the makings of a typical squalor, was lively. Betweenhis gloved hands was a tablet, whose screen seem to flicker every few seconds. The readings from the tablet grow more intense as he nears towards a set ofstairs which lead further down into the earth. Carefully does he descend downonto them. He avoids the cracks in the asphalt, in fear that they might somehowcollapse on him if he steps upon them.

Touya was so startled by the scientist’s sudden fall that he ended up dropping some of the trash he had in his hands. As soon as he realized what had happened he dropped the rest so he could check up on the stranger, who seemed to have recovered so quickly that Touya found it slightly unnerving.
He eyed the stranger up and down as the other talked, first trying to make sure that everything was fine and then because he couldn’t figure out how his hairstyle worked. Still, he knew staring was rude so he faked the biggest smile that he could and waited until the other finished introducing himself.

7. How does your character perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral?
Very negatively but definitely much better than he used to years ago. The combination of a healthy amount of time alone and therapy has helped him grow into a much more self-loving person than he was before, but he still has an inferiority complex and problems seeing himself as a being worthy of affection. He has a tendency to run away from his problems and try to solve other people’s to detract from his own shortcomings. Appearance-wise he can barely look himself in the mirror some days and as a trainer he tends to kick himself over all the tough situations he feels he’s put his team through.
9. Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time.
Ever since the entire fiasco with Team Plasma, Touya’s become a heavy sleeper and his dreams have become so few and far in-between that they’re barely even worth noting. On the rare occasions he does dream though, it’s pretty much always something related to his childhood memories and friends.
17. Is your character an introvert or an extrovert? How do they handle big crowds of people?
While he’d never admit it, Touya is definitely more on the shyer end of the spectrum than he lets on. He revels in his time alone and prefers one-on-one interactions with others because huge crowds (especially in enclosed spaces) tend to trigger sensory overload.

2. Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc.
Yes, various burn marks along the right side of his body leftover from his fight against Reshiram and a few smaller scars around the kneecaps from the occasional skateboarding accident while younger. Also, he has a single freckle on his left buttcheek that he’s not aware of.
8. Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?
Having ADD means Touya is a bit of a mixed bag in this regard. Thoughts come to him rapidly but also chaotically so that means that while he can have a fully-constructed sentence ready to say, sometimes he has to take a second to properly order it otherwise it sounds like complete gibberish. In high-pressure situations though this has proven to be an advantage. In a split second he can come up with five different solutions to a single problem and start working on it in the time that it takes for the average person to come up with just one. This same characteristic also makes him an excellent strategist in battle.
12. Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has.
Already answered!
21. Your character has been granted 3 wishes; what would they wish for and why?
Firstly he’d wish for peace of mind. Secondly, he’d probably do the nice thing and wish for world peace. Once all that’s finished with though? It’s all infinite wishes all the time.
hp!au
Touya is a Hufflepuff through and through. He’s got a particular talent for arithmancy but other than that his abilities remain noticeably weaker than his counterparts. He doesn’t care much though, feeling much more identified with his non-magical side of the family.
12. Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has.
Touya can burp on command, but hasn’t quite mastered the art of burping the entire alphabet. He’s spent more than five years stuck on L and has made it his resolution to make it at least to Q by the end of the year.
He naturally smiles and speaks with only one side of his mouth, giving him a smug smirk that tends to give people the wrong idea.
He breathes through his nose to the beat of songs or his own footsteps, ends up getting lightheaded more often than not.
Touya is capable of putting his leg behind his ear and doing a perfect split. Not at the same time of course.
Touya doesn’t eat his cereal with milk. He eats it with orange juice.
zombie au..?
Touya in a zombie apocalypse situation would probably take a page from Zombieland’s book and spend the entire time looking for enough Casteliacones to last him until the end of the world. This is his one and only goal. Survival and uncovering the hows and whys of the infection don’t matter to him. He’ll fight anything who gets in his way, whether it’s human, Pokemon or undead.
Medieval!AU
Had Touya been around during the Medieval era, he’d probably would have been a bard. Not a particularly good one though, mind you. Still, he probably had a bit of a cult following across the neighboring kingdoms for being spectacularly bad. His singing was so jaw-droppingly terrible that dozens would brave the elements and dangers to travel all the way to him and marvel at how okay they are at music in comparison.
High school au
In your average high school AU, Touya would be the awkward dorkface who’d wear a tux to a business casual school event. He’s the type to never have pencils on him even though he never gives back the ones that people have already lent him. Even though he has a recognition medal in Gym in all things, he’s actually a math wiz and memorized pi to a hundred places out of pure boredom. He could easily be an honor student if he put his mind to it, but he’s much more interested in having the time of his life rather than planning for the future.

@trxepotential
For a place called the Dreamyard, there was nothing sleepy about it. Its eerie silence was constantly interrupted by the sound of decade-old asbestos paneling swinging from the ceiling and banging against naked cement, a cruel mockery of the hustle and bustle that once flooded the now haunted halls of the once successful research facility. Long blades of patchy grass grew so tall that they almost reached what remained of the second floor, and the area’s Pokemon wasted no time in taking back the habitat that was once theirs.
Then after the wild Pokemon came roaming trainers, all eagerly jumping at the chance to hang out at an abandoned place for the sake of bragging rights. Following the trainers came the troublemakers, and following the troublemakers came the people of Striaton naming it a hazardous waste disposal site for the mere sake of discouraging the impressionable from venturing into danger. What they didn’t account for though, was just how impressionable Touya is.
It wasn’t the first time he’d visited the Dreamyward, but it had been long enough for him to forget the extremes that the city went through to stop people from going in. The main entrance was sealed with layers of wood paneling and discolored police tape, but thanks to his Excadrill’s Brick Break it was quickly done with.. As soon as he stepped in he winced at the sound of shattered glass, only to glance down at dozens of thrown-out potion bottles dotting the ground. The place was somehow even more of a disaster than the last time he came, and even the fauna reflected it.
Gone were the adorable stray Purloins and Munnas with their baby-doll eyes and friendly demeanor. From the corner of his eye he spotted the grossest looking Raticate he’d ever seen, and for a second he could have sworn that from a dimly-lit pile of rubble he saw a pair of disembodied red eyes beckoning him to come closer and be eaten. His Excadrill was already honing his claws for a battle but Touya could only shake his head. He sighed, just deep enough to express disappointment but not deep enough to take in too much of the putrid air into his lungs. It was obvious to him that someone had to do something.
In the end he concluded that if didn’t do it, no one would. Thus began the daunting task of trying to figure out how to do something.
With disgust in his mouth and regret already starting to build up in the back of his mind, he started to take whatever pieces of garbage he found intact enough to recycle and shove the broken or dirty ones into his empty backpack pockets to dispose of later. It’s a hard knock life for the modern explorer.
I really enjoy drawing Touya/Hilbert. <3 Expect to see more drawings of him! * 3 *
