❝ I can’t forgive you for what you did. I never want to see your face again. But make sure you don’t forget…in this world, every person and place has a right to exist. It’s true for you, too. Nature itself allowed you to come back. The entire world as a whole is your home. ❞
(Ace aro Ginko from the anime and Manga Mushishi. All these gifs are from the show itself, made by Artland and aired first in Fuji Television, directed by Hiroshi Nagahama. The middle icon is made by me. I credited the creators of the gifs in the captions!)
(I absolutely love this anime. It’s unnervingly beautiful, wondrously strange, and both visually stunning but not a strain for those like me who are often overwhelmed by complex animation. The plot is very difficult to explain but very easy to get into. It follows Ginko in Japan, hundreds of years ago as he investigates strange, primordial beings known as Mushi. Almost like an abstract, meditative monster of the week type thing. )
(I will probably make another Mushishi board soon)
「この世にいてはならない場所だと 誰にもない。(あなた)もだ。」 There isn’t a place in this world where you don’t belong.
Mushishi (蟲師), Season2 Episode11, ~21min 30sec mark. (via jetmalek)
This town in Mushishi season 2 episode 16 is full of canals and arranged like a formal garden. And many of the interstitial shots show it off beautifully, invoking the classic painting styles closely linked to garden design. Unlike most gardens, this village incorporates rice paddies seamlessly into its artful wetland aesthetic.
