Wh.

Firstly, Kerremos has dialogue about Loid raising him and Kaelli, literally picking him up on his shoulders. Euleria has dialogue about him raising her alongside Albrecht.

And the arrangement of him hiding in the labs only started when Albrecht began working on stopping the Indifference with Loid as a Willing Participant.

He was not a prisoner. Keeping the family and his work seperate was something Albrecht wanted, yes, but it was also something LOID continued to do himself.

Imo, his ‘imprisonment’ was an emotional one formed of bonds of Love and Duty to Albrecht, (which yes I can see Albrecht either unintentionally or intentionally taking advantage of) as well as no small amount of fear about how the Family post-infestation would react to him.

And even then he’s clearly very willing to criticize Albrecht- which implies he agrees with the idea of secrecy and that’s why he’s continuing it.

Loid stayed down there because he felt he HAD to, and because he was afraid to open up to the rest of the Family for support. There’s nothing implying that he can’t open the doors by himself, or that Necraloid (the closest supporter of What Albrecht Would’ve Wanted) is forcing him to stay. It’s a conspiracy Loid is actively participating in.

Additionally, Loid’s Sealing away would’ve had to have happened way later than his initial partnership with Albrecht against the Indifference, as he needed to keep up his contacts to get the Cavia (exotic animals specifically chosen to lure the Indifference) and other resources for the Labs!

The timeline in general is.. annoying to pin down, but presumably the Sealing off would’ve also happened prior to the family becoming Infested, but long after Petros/Father worked on the Necramechs, due to the Labs using a LOT of them as defense systems.

^ which in and of itself implies that the Family once DID know about the Labs, but may NOT have known that they extended that deep, or more importantly were still in use.

(An assumption aided by Necraloid and the Vitruvian Walls both giving the impression that Loid and Albrecht were dead)
