The Runalongs are rare in worlds without fast transportation. It seems they are brought into being when someone, bored by a journey, looks out to watch the countryside go by. They daydream of a creature that follows their path (guarding? Or hunting?) and suddenly, without fanfare, it appears.

Runalongs have little in the way of ecology, but they are known to eat other dreams. Sometimes if the one who called them is particularly lonely or afraid they will get closer and even speak in humming voices without opening their mouths. But the second you stop moving, the creatures turn and vanish behind themselves, disappearing to wherever fantasies come from.

A Runalong can also have other forms; a humanoid figure (without distinct features) is common, and these may also ride things that are supposed to be horses. If only we were better at imagining, then they might not look so terrifying.

I was unaware of Markiplier telling his fans that they better behave in the theaters which is hilarious to me because I've been joking with my staff that if the people for Iron Lung acted up in our theater I was going to email Markiplier like a disappointed teacher

I work at a theater and despite full showings we have barely had to clean them because people don't leave trash. no complaints from anyone about other customers being loud/obnoxious. every customer who has bought a ticket for iron lung has been polite. i'm so incredibly proud not only of Markiplier but also the fanbase. thanks guys, as both a Mark fan and movie employee

Also I really think it’s awesome that in the opening and end credits it’s not “a film by Mark Fischbach,” it’s a “A film by MARKIPLIER”

It feels like so many Internet personalities that make the jump to other mediums are almost ashamed of coming from YouTube. I doubt this is even the actual intention, but any time an internet creator makes a non-internet creation and they use their full name in the credits rather than their internet username, it unavoidably feels like they’re trying to distance themselves from their role as an online creator in order to be taken seriously.

But this is a movie based on a small indie game that got a good chunk of its popularity from lets plays and online word of mouth. Its a movie that was funded with money from being the funny YouTube gamer man. A lot of that cast and crew are YouTubers and people who worked for/with YouTubers.

Mark Fischbach produced, wrote, acted, and edited this movie, but it’s a movie by MARKIPLIER. This movie only exists because of the YouTube channel and internet presence of Markiplier and it doesn’t let you forget that. And I think that’s cool.

The best part about Iron Lung is that it's not a movie about Markiplier, it's a movie about a guy who just happens to be played by Markiplier. Like it starts and you're like "Omg it's Markiplier!" and then a few minutes later you stop seeing Markiplier, and instead you just see Simon, a guy trapped in a submarine in an ocean of blood. If, say, Mr Beast tried to make a similar film it would be like "Hey guys, I'm Mr Beast, and today, I'm going on a wacky adventure in this blood ocean with my zany cast of friends!"
