My process for repainting my Josephine portrait! I really do like her in color, and I hated having to match the monochrome of the original, so I’m posting this also. It was such a great time to readdress Josie, I did her pretty wrong.

Halla grew up believing in big gods, deities of nature, and magic of course, tho there weren’t many magicians or people linked directly to magic in their town/village. The people in their village due to their desertic climate depended a lot on rivers and water in general for mostly everything, tho there really wasn’t a lack of it. Usually when Halla’s dad went with all the other fishermen to bring back food in the “roughest” seasons they lasted a couple days, so Mama Sun taught Halla a little offering to the gods and deities to keep fishermen save and full of luck.

Many rituals were done in water, also to the death, who were never meant to be sad but mostly peaceful goodbyes and connecting it to the water made it more of a path to other lifes and a connecting to gods.
