that in the version of the confrontation where Stella is backing Tabitha up, she perfectly covers Pearlanne's portrait, taking up from that space in her life but still holding that space at all, when perhaps it should just be empty

And additionally, as u/aaragax pointed out, in Toxic Yuri, Stella blocks the Pearlanne portrait. Which they suggested might show how Tabitha has abandoned her secrecy and closed-offedness (a result of Pearlanne's control) for a relationship with Stella instead. Of course, Enoch is still there though, showing that she's still furthering his goals of keeping the mine alive and Scarlet Hollow lasting forever.

Press buttons in the right sequence is ALWAYS better than mash buttons imo, both for accessibility and because literally everyone hates hand strain. This is one of the reasons Bug Fables is the best Paper Mario game btw, besides all the well-written characters and way more fleshed out side-quests that practically all have cool new content to them, they let you change all mashes into sequences in the settings.
