My Activism Blog

I'm Oakley / @squirrelyoak. I'm a squirrel, dog and lemur therian, and I use it/its pronouns (no they please). I'm also Entrapta fictionhearted among other things.

I didn't want to spam @@alterhuman-activism nor my own personal blog, so I decided to make this side blog. I'll be sharing all my updates, plans and thought processes for my activism plans before I post the final version on @@alterhuman-activism.

Expanding Alterhuman Activism

I want more beings to have the opportunity to participate in advocating for our social acceptance, so I've decided to expand to other platforms. I've already expanded to bluesky and I'm working on Reddit at the moment.

I don't plan to be very active on other platforms like I am here. I'm really only going to post mostly big updates and submission inboxes on other platforms.

So if anyone is active on Reddit, I created r/AlterhumanActivism if you want to check it out.

It's completely anonymous and you don't need to have a google account.

Alterhuman short stories / poems submissions

I'm already struggling to keep track of all the stories because they're being submitted to me from everywhere. I really don't want to loose any of your work, so I'm trying google forms.

You don't need to have an account to submit a form, and it's completely anonymous.

Zine Project: Alterhuman Short Stories

I want to put zines in little free libraries around my city that share true stories about alterhumanity. I want to put in your stories, so here are the guidelines:

Writing Length: Very short.

Writing Style: Anecdote, vignette, poem, etc. (basically anything).

Who: This can be about you, an alterhuman family member / friend, an interaction / experience with an alterhuman, etc.

Topic / What: Can be about anything relating to alterhumanity. Some examples are... discrimination, awakening, your 'types, pride, expression, fear, loving yourself / alterhumanity, interactions, gear, quads, compliments you've received, wants from society / parents / friends, intersectionality, etc. [Please keep these stories true].

Tittle: Make sure to add a title.

How to Submit: Under this post, in my dms, make a post and tag me, or email me (let me know if you email me because I don't usually check my email). You can also invite me to a google doc via my email. [[email protected]].

Other notes: You don't have to be an alterhuman to submit a story (you can write about how you view us or what you want for us). This isn't a competition (I will make multiple unique zines so all the stories can be included). Any and all alterhuman identities are allowed.

All stories in the zine will be completely anonymous.

If you are confused on anything, please ask (I am ok with being flooded with questions; don't hold back).

If I've missed anything, let me know!

Edit: if you want, you can add your fake name and / or city (or country, etc) to make it more personal to the reader (this is fully optional)

I'm back!!!!

I don't know if I ever said that I was leaving for a bit, but I'm back.

I'm going to edit my zine and poster and continue / start to place those around my city (and to all the places I visit). I'm also going to print out a bunch more stickers. I actually found one of my therian stickers torn off... so I'm going to put three in its place out of spite!

Sticker Slogan Ideas

I already have a few, but I need more ideas!

Also, I'm going to mostly make stickers from the most common symbols (otherkin, therian, alterhuman, plural, otherheart) and maybe some variants too. I just only have so much sticker paper, and I want to be the most effective with my activism :3

If I missed any common alterhuman symbols, please tell me!

I put more zines in little free libraries!!

This evening I put eight zines in eight different little free libraries. I can only show six cause two of them would have given away the neighborhood I live in.

Also, the two little free libraries that I put zines in didn't have my zines anymore. Which means that beings are seeing and possibly reading my zines!! :D

I plan to put more of these zines on busses, in library books, and in other random spots (like on a table at a cafe).

I'm going to color in the circles around the rest of the sticker for higher visibility.

What other symbols should I add?

I'm not sure about the lycanthrope symbol. It's the upside down y / greek l. I just don't know if that's a symbol beings used by lycanthropes.

I'm also not sure if the ink and quill symbol is the fictionkin or fictionfolk symbol.

I put two alterhuman zines in free little libraries!!

I only managed to get a picture of one, but I plan to swing by and take a picture of the other one on my way to a park (to put up flyers and stickers). I'm also going to leave a few zines on the busses I take to get there >:3

I plan to stand all of my zines up like that. It makes it easier to see, and catches the eye better.
