 shestumbled:
she blinked rapidly at that, not sure why he was being so nice. focus, she thought to herself, not everyone is as mean as you were taught. a small, timid and tentative smile came forward as she spoke with the man, âi-iâm naturally v-very jumpy, i-its nothing yo-youâve done, s-sir.â she stuttered her response, pico coming up beside her to judge whether or not it was safe for her to talk to him. becoming pleased with the result, pico nodded her vote of competency.
âi-iâm ste-stephanie o-oblige. n-nice to meet you. t-this is pico, my e-emotional sup-support pokemon. i-iâm a trainer, i g-guess, though i donât l-like the thought of my pokemonâmy pokemon getting hurt in combat. n-nice to meet you.â
Oak grinned. âWell, thatâs alright then, Stephanie! PokĂ©mon arenât just used for battling. For some people, PokĂ©mon are pets. Others use them for battling. Your Pico here is here to help you and support you through tough times, and thatâs great!â
He moved forward towards Pico the Kirlia, and when the support PokĂ©mon entered a defensive stance, Oakâs mind quickly caught back up to him and he paused. This girl had her support PokĂ©mon for a reason, and here he was shouting and making large gestures and moving in. He backed up, stood up straight, and turned back to Stephanie.
âStephanie, I am so sorry for anything I mightâve done to upset you. I get overexcited about my research, and I hope I havenât overstepped any boundaries. Now, if itâs alright with you, could I please ask you a few questions about you and your PokĂ©mon?
