People love to act like the concept of porn is in and of itself inherently evil, and that therefore the very existence of it is what creates the harm surrounding it. Like they think sex is icky and gross, and that sexual art isn’t really art, and they think THATS why the industry is so harmful. But like. Sex is normal. And erotic art is often awesome and cool and sexy and hot. The problem is the widespread exploitation of vulnerable people.

And it’s like, they think that sex being bad is what makes the industry exploitative, and because they refuse to let go of that, they are unable to see that the industry is allowed to be exploitative because of the fact that people view sex as bad. The industry didn’t get like that because sex is bad! It’s like that because people THINK sex is bad! If people were not so afraid of sex, sex work would be allowed to exist and sex workers would have proper protections!!

And then Trans Women (frequently labeled as inherently sexual and fetishistic as a way to demonize us), are pushed into the exploitative sex industry (which only exists as it does because of societies perception that sex is evil), because we are incredibly vulnerable as a demographic. And nobody CARES because we live in a puritanical and transmisogynistic society!!!
