“You look hella tense,” Mia observed aloud tilting her head slightly. “Have you ever thought about yoga?” 

“Why would I think about yoga?” JJ scoffed as she rolled her eyes. “The only thing I need is a decent night sleep and for others to keep their nose out of my business.”

Sam pushed the door open deciding to ignore his friend’s request. “Come on Wren, I’ve left you long enough. I gave you two days, I’m not leaving you in here by yourself any longer.” He knew it was difficult for the female but he doubted keeping herself holed up in her room alone all day would help either.

“Go away Sam, I don’t want to see anyone.” She knew her best friend was worried about her but for once she couldn’t bring herself to be around even him. All she felt was an overwhelming sense of guilt over what had happened, that she had let herself be crippled so much to be unable to do anything, once again. “There’s nothing you can do anyway. This was my fault.”

“Go away!” Wren hollered at the door as she stayed buried under her duvet trying her best to block out the world and their feelings. She’d spent the last two days angrily scribbling in her sketch pads trying to get out the images that were inside her head.

The sentence itself was ominous enough to freak Sam out. “Crap. Is there enough time to call the police?” He asked pulling his phone out quickly, his thumbs hitting the nine button three times. “What’s all happening at once?” Sam didn’t normally press her for details instead he preferred to try and calm her down but given what she had said he figured it was important to get all the details they could so they could try and help somehow. 

“It’s too late. There’s nothing we can do.” Wren shook her head as a tear slid down her face as she thought about everything that played out in her head. “I can’t do this again, Sam. I don’t want to see. Please don’t make me. Make them stop.” The blonde normally had a decent amount of control over own feelings but being so overwhelmed, the lid she held on it all slipped. “It’s not just here Sam. There’s things happening all over town.” Wren longed for the chance to hug her friend but just the thought of potentially risking another vision and seeing what could happen to Sam, was something that she couldn’t do.

Sam could always tell when Wren was having a vision, he’d been friends with her long enough and seen enough of them that he noticed the signs. The male hadn’t really caught on to anything that was going on around them, he was too caught up with worrying about Wren. “Hey, hey, what’s up? What did you see?” He asked oblivious to the panic beginning to break out around them. “What’s going on?”

“They’re coming.” Her voice remained that eerie detached version she hated as the images slowly began to disappear. “We’re about to be in the middle of a robbery Sam.” She whispered as she looked up at him, fear taking over her features. “It’s all happening at once. All of it. Death. So much death.” She was struggling to make out the different events taking place that she’d witnessed in her mind. Too many emotions. Too many outcomes and interference.

Alec probably should have been shocked by the blonde’s statement, but truthfully, it was something that he was used to at this point. As well as noting the armed men, it would have been more shocking if that didn’t happen. “Which someone?” He asked, not even stopping to think that she might have been simply guessing. Alec looked over his shoulder towards where the fire exit was, almost instinctively he began thinking about the formation and structure of a gun, but then began looking around the room at all the unsuspecting people. He stopped. This would be a lot easier if there weren’t any potential civilian casualties to deal with. “Fuck.” He muttered under his breath. “Okay,” he nodded, “we’ll deal with it when we can ensure no one is in the firing range.” His eyes moved over to the individuals he knew to be in possession of the weapons. They were beginning to reach for them, and he could see the way they were tensing up. It was likely that these two were the cannon fodder in case security got any bright ideas. Alec pulled out his phone for a moment, sending a quick text as he began to move towards the back of the room. “What happens after that?” He asked, feeling no reason not to trust that she knew. After a few steps towards the back of the room, he heard the booming voice of what he assumed was one of the young men.

Wren was a little surprised she wasn’t being told that she was being stupid or paranoid or even that he wasn’t running in the opposite direction. “I can’t make them out. There’s too much happening at once. I can’t keep track of it all. It changes.” Her brows furrowed as she tried to keep the images at bay instead of letting them overwhelm her and suck her back into another vision. “There’s more to this. We’re....” She tried to think of how to explain what she saw and felt. “I don’t know. It’s not just here.” The blonde’s face scrunched up in frustration and pain as her head began to get fuzzy. “For specifics-- I’d need physical contact with people. Both hostages and them.” She scowled in the direction of the masked men. “It’s just a mess without it. A general-- it’s hard to explain.” She looked up at him. “You believe me though? Why?”

Alec saw the tears welling up in the other’s eyes with just a glance and he moved closer to her, enough that she would be able to hear him despite his hushed tone. “You’re going to need to calm down or you will get their attention.” He said, having noted only a few moments before at least two young men carrying firearms on their person. How she noticed it, he didn’t know, though. He only wondered how many more there were. Of course, soon enough it appeared his comment was rather pointless given how quickly everything happened next.

“Someone’s going to die tonight.” The words had slipped out of her mouth before she even had chance to stop them. It always happened this way after a vision, it was if her usual filter disappeared briefly as almost another entity over took her. Wren could almost hear the words herself, it didn’t matter how often she heard it, it still sounded eerie even to her. Blinking a few times, the haze cleared and she returned to herself as the new comer registered finally. She listened to his advice and tried to compose herself, almost wanting to blend into the background and be ignored. “There’s more to come. Five more are going to come through the fire exit door in the back and take out the guard who was stood there.” She whispered, not sure if he would believe her. “The bank teller in the corner is about to pull the alarm and they’re going to get real angry and shoot the Manager in the leg as a warning. We need to move to the back of the bank. Now.”

Wren wasn’t sure how long the vision lasted or how long it had looked like she was staring into space, she never knew. She only ever knew when she came out of it feeling dazed and unsure of her surroundings. It took a minute or so for her vision to clear and hear breathing to get a little easier without the overwhelming rush of emotions. All she wanted was a nice quiet day, was that too much to ask? The vision came too late before she could do anything, there was nothing she could do to stop the events that were to follow shortly. Wren looked around in panic, taking in all the faces around her and wondering how many would make it out of this. Her eyes welled up with tears at the thought and that same old hopeless feeling returned to her.

The brunette’s smile returned at the female’s words, pleased she wasn’t cross at her. “It’s fine.” She assured her shrugging it off. “I had a friend before that was a bit like that. He hated germs.” 

“Just because I struggle with something does not mean that I should take it out on others.” She stated as she berated herself. “It’s a little more than disliking germs but it’s complicated.” Wren paused briefly as she considered the other’s words. “How does he deal with it? The germs that is? How does he manage to avoid touching things?”

Faye couldn’t say she entirely blamed Wren for being so cautious, but the risk factor was what made it more thrilling. Granted, that risk was diminished significantly for Faye. “You know I’ll catch you.” She offered her friend a sigh, reaching a hand out and sending a gust of air towards her, allowing it to swirl around Wren’s body before dying down again.

“Faye, you know how much I love you and trust you but I really hate when you do that.” The blonde grimaced as she felt her friend’s power brush against her skin. It wasn’t that she feared the power, it was more so that she feared falling and her brain splattering against the pavement.

Elsie pulled her hand back as if she’d just been burnt. Biting on her lower lip as she gave the blonde a sheepish look. “Oh… I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you. I was just trying to get your attention, you erm, you dropped this.” She told her holding out the scarf.

Seeing the girl’s face caused her to feel slightly guilty for being so abrupt and harsh but she’d rather experience her reaction from observing her rather than actually feeling how she felt. “No, I’m sorry. That was rude of me, I just don’t like being touched.” Carefully she reached out to grab her scarf, making sure not to touch her skin as she did so.

Faye stood at the top of the waterfall, her feet almost half-way over the edge as she looked down to the water at the bottom. “It’s only a little jump.” It most certainly wasn’t. “Come on,” she said, turning around and looking at the other with a mischievous gleam in her eye, “I’ll go first.” And with those words, she tilted herself backwards and began to fall.

“Uh, I’m good thanks. I like my view from here, Faye, I’ve got no intention of getting closer.” Wren inched a little further back putting distance between herself and the edge.

“If you plan on keeping your hand, I’d think twice about touching me.” She ground out between clenched teeth, not having to look at the other person. Wren had gotten used to listening to her surroundings and having to sense the people around her to avoid physical contact.
