I'm just going to dump all my thoughts about Valko and his situation here:

I liked him, wasn't sure if he was gonna swap into a main spot for me as I wanted to see more. But he seemed like a cool character and I loved seeing all the fan theories and through lines that were being connected in retrospect. It's what makes the game fun for me.

However, I understand why CN, and other nationality, fans were upset. I've seen posts explaining the why behind some of the things that were said and themed with Valko were issues- connecting to China's historied past with Japan and the human experiments as well as notorious domestic abuse cases they have had that Infold directly hineted at with some of the phrases they used.

As an American my initial reaction to see the backlash he got was from a place of not understanding. Much of hia content did not seem problematic to me so I missed the nuance they were upset about. That being said it is still also a total loss for them to scrap him competely. All of the hard work the artists, writers, and cosplayers put into his debut is just gone.

As always, Infold missed an opportunity to correct a messed up situation by listening to their fan base. Among the other issues with the drop rate of cards, missing content, severely delayed content in main story updates, bad daily farming of dias, lighting, and other well spoken issues.

In the end should we have expected a homophpbic, greedy, and racist company to act differently? Probably not. But still, I'm a bit saddened by this. And if it is just a publicity stunt to promote the game I'll be ever more irritated.

Anyways, R.I.P. Valko, you would have loved to see the world cup and chase that ball. 🌈

It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!
