to be clear, I believe younger artists and minors can write good fics (not to say “fanfic must always be good” either because it is a hobby and I still believe that as long as it’s done with love and the artist’s joy, it is good) and I believe it’s good when younger artists and minors start making art at young ages.

that said, a lot of fanfics out there that you read and love are done by adults with kids, jobs and responsibilities. adults who have years, decades of practice under their belts. adults who don’t let life and responsibilities take away their joy in creating.

someone’s love and passion don’t suddenly go away the second they reach a certain age. so if anything, I feel sorry for people who say “adults shouldn’t write fanfics or make fan art” because what these people really say is that they expect themselves to stop having fun and finding comfort in things that bring them joy and comfort the second they reach a certain age. it’s sad that they put an expiration date on their own fun and source of comfort.

I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesn’t work. it’s never worked. it’s notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it people’s works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.

I see so many posts claiming that trans men talking about their reproductive organs is them misgendering themselves but have yet to see a single post saying the same thing to trans women talking about their penis or prostate if they have them.

It's a double standard that needs to die. Many, many trans men, mascs, enbies, and intersex folks have a uterus and ovaries and are extremely impacted by things like reproductive laws and the need for gynecological care, and they have every fucking right to talk about it without being told they're misgendering themselves.

If it's not misgendering for someone to talk about their penis and the need for prostate checks, why the fuck is it misgendering to talk about their uterus and ovaries?

I have never seen someone get up in arms about a trans woman going to a proctologist "invading men's spaces" but I sure have seen hundreds of posts about trans men going to the gyno "invading women's spaces."

Nobody is invading ANY space because anyone can have any configuration of reproductive organs. No one gender has ownership over that. Everyone deserves access to the medical care they need for their body, whatever that care might look like. It is not misgendering oneself to talk about the organs and body parts you have.

Theory about SOTR

!!!!!! SPOILERS about the new THG prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping !!!!!

Okay so guys, hear me out. I’ve been thinking about this one theory and the more I think about it, the more it fits for me :

So, you see, in Sunrise on the Reaping, Leonore Dove is introduced as Burdock Everdeen’s cousin. Like, the first scene we see Leonore Dove, Burdock calls her cuz. But she’s not a cousin on the Everdeen side of Burdock’s family but on another, unmentioned side. Burdock and Leonore Dove are related in some way, that’s the first part.

A little after this, we learn through Haymitch that Clerk Carmine and Tam Amber (Leonore Dove’s uncles) share no real blood with Leonore Dove but they took her in because Coveys stick together. But guess what’s her last name ? Baird. And who’s another Covey girl we know whose last name is also Baird ? Lucy Gray. So, Leonore Dove’s full name is Leonore Dove Baird, that’s the second part.

So we now know that Burdock Everdeen and Leonore Dove Baird are cousins, they’re blood related. But how ? Assuming they’re first cousins, they share a grandparent. I’m assuming this because the timeline of THG is pretty short (less than a century). But we know that Leonore Dove is not Burdock’s cousin through the Everdeen lineage and we know that Leonore Dove’s last name is Baird. So, what if, the lineage they share blood through is the Bairds ? If that’s the case then, the grandparent they share has to be a Baird. And who’s the other Baird we know damn well in the saga ? Lucy Gray Baird.

So that means, Lucy Gray is Burdock Everdeen’s grandmother. AND that Katniss, who’s Burdock’s daughter, is Lucy Gray great granddaughter.

There’s some little things that go in my theory’s way like for example, it’s mentioned in the book that Burdock has a very good singing voice. Which, COULD BE because of the heritage left by Lucy Gray.

I’m saying this because the timeline in which all The Hunger Games lore happens is short. There’s been 74th Hunger Games by the time we meet Katniss. So, my theory is perhaps not too crazy.
