Happy 10th anniversary!
Unbelievable that it's been 10 years since I founded this blog! Hard to think of what to write for a commemorative post.
I'll start off by saying that most of the things that I've posted here I've changed my stances on partially or completely. If I were to make an exhaustive list of those positions, this blog would end up longer than I wanted to be. Plus, it will end up on the chopping block (as if it wasn't there yet), and I do not want to be kicked off of this semi-functioning site in such an unceremonious way. But, back on topic, I've changed more than the last time I posted a ramble of this scale and nature, thinking that this place was going to shut down the last time I wrote something internal like this. The first post that I put up when I started this blogsite, though, I still agree with.
Regarding that post, the stumbling block to progress, though, can be expanded to include moderates and liberals of every identity. Political circumstances and situations have changed since I started this blog, and to counter them, one must change tactics, and to an extent, one's character, as I've already done for the most part.
To further elaborate on that post, there are opportunists in every corner, and there will be times where manipulation is inevitable. That's because there are different situations and different contexts where one is unprepared to deal with, no matter how one says they've learned from being manipulated. The most dismal failure, however, when it comes to this subject is that everyone fails to realize is that they are being manipulated on a massive scale, by powers beyond their control, and it happens more than one would admit. If one has the knowledge of this, shutting oneself off from the world is a short-term solution, and can be feasible with some iron will. But it isn't an eternal cure-all, and one might end up in a worser state than before. Friendly advice I've learned years back is that in order see if one is a manipulator, look at how much they talk about themselves. When they talk plenty, be extra cautious. However, if one lets a manipulator into one's circle purposefully, plan ahead on the payoff before moving ahead. There is a reason why one keeps acquaintances and friends close, but manipulators and opportunists closer.
Dark thoughts and dark advice to start off with, huh? With no warning, right? Well, as I've said before, my character went on a myriad of journeys since the last time I posted here. History is now changing, rapidly, for the better for some. For others, the opposite. But more events are going to come soon, until a threshold has passed, and the greatest of moments will come, grievously needed.
Realism, borderline pessimism, is where my mindset stands currently, which is the reason why I cling more so, to real optimists. Real optimism is hard to find, and one must be able to discern the real from the playacting. Discerning's a hard task to do too, but it must be done. One tip to know who a real optimist from a fake is one that knows the road forward is difficult, but takes responsibility, and doesn't hide away from what needs to be done.
For my current situation personally, I'm straddled between a sense of comfort (or complacency) and unease. Doubtful and a bit worried of where to go to next, but taking it easy, and having the feeling of not having to hurry. Ironically, that mentality makes my situation worse.
Additionally, I feel like my true "face" is starting to slip out more often, since the stress of switching between "faces" so much for different forums/blogs I jump into gets to be exhausting.
I don't want, or like, to write ramblings like this, let alone something as long form as this. Even I hesitate on posting this right now, and probably will not read again once it's out there. However, since this blog is turning 10, a milestone in itself, I'm obligated to write something commemorative or celebratory, regardless if the content's good in mood, or not. Let alone if the content's trite, execrable, and incoherent for consumption.
One trivium I like to point out is that I favor, or have a tendency, to start up accounts/blogs on important dates in history, as a way to remember their birthdays easily.
As for the direction that this blog will go into next, I'll check up on here from time-to-time, and like some pleasurable, beautiful, guilty, mayhaps borderline degenerate, posts on here, waiting for the main servers of this site to shutdown.
Only then, will this blog be truly deleted.
And that, as said, is that!
