if i post a fic and get no kudos or comments in the first fifteen minutes iām a failure and should never write again. but the moment i get 1 comment iām the next stephen king
Okay, but this is painfully accurate.
Logically, I know comments/kudos are just an added bonus and that my fics should be for me first and foremost--HOWEVER--please pat me on the head or I will cease to function.
had a visceral need to draw them

And, despite his disappointment, heād be lying if he said heād been deceived. Thomas knew what he was doing, and how to do it. It would have been easy to slip into the fantasy Corvo had been trying to itch for nearly two years now.

if i have to see one more pedantic fan analysis of the last of us that revolves entirely around the conviction that joel was 100% objectively right for saving ellie bc "the cure wasnt real" or "the fireflies didnt have the medical expertise to create a cure and would have killed ellie for nothing" or "there arent cures for fungal infections in the real world" im going to scream. why are all of you so allergic to genuinely morally complex stories. why do you have to compulsively strip away all conflict in a narrative so that your faves are always right and correct and good. your takes are boring. they make the story boring. its so much more vastly interesting if the cure is real and joel saves ellie anyway, dooming the world. its so much more interesting if we as the audience want joel to save ellie anyway, regardless of if it dooms the world. its so much more interesting to grapple with the moral and emotional conflict in the story and in ourselves instead of cowardly shying away from it.
also people scrambling to justify joel's actions with "well a cure probably wouldn't have worked anyway" or "the distribution necessary is not feasible" etc. are missing the point. because joel's justification is love and he never tries to pretend otherwise. love can be incredibly dangerous and incredibly selfish and people can and will do terrible things for it. but it is also incredibly human and that's the whole damn point.
ASHLEY JOHNSON & BELLA RAMSEY as ANNA & ELLIE WILLIAMS THE LAST OF US | Season One
People trying to apply modern day āmoralsā and talking about agency and consent in The Last of Us crack me up - as if those kind of thoughts arenāt luxuries in that universe.
The real question is: how did it make you feel? Where you cheering for Joel during the massacre at the end? Could you feel the ice cold fucking chill when he killed Marlene?
Did the lengths heād go to shock you? Or where you right there with him?
Are you going to be thinking and feeling that ending for the next ten years?
Why did they change why Ellie is immune? What was wrong with a random cordyceps mutation?
Now itās a chemical messenger that makes cordyceps think that sheās cordyceps - is this a joke? How do chemical messengers pass through the fucking body? How did it manage to pass from mother to baby, if not through blood, lmao?
How were they even able to detect this if itās not in the blood or tissue?
If these messengers have been inside Ellie since birth saying āIām cordeyceps!ā - how was it never picked up on any scanners?
Why do you need to remove it, to grow it again, to produce the chemical messengers if itās already successfully producing them inside Ellie?
Why donāt normal infected produce them?
I am so mad! The final episode! Itās been fantastic so far and to fall at this final fucking hurdle is so frustrating!!
Winter Temporary Fandom Battle is over and now I can finally upload everything I drew! YES!!!Ā
