Harry x OPEN

Location: Godricks Hallow
Time: 10:30PM
Pale moonlight filled the spaces between the distant street lights. It bleached everything of color and left those without black in contrast. Harry knew almost more people in this lot than he did outside of it. Â
He didnât particularly enjoy these visits, but since the place no longer threatened his life, he felt he had no excuse keeping him from visiting. Besides, since the moment he held the resurrection stone the crippling guilt only seemed to grow. He now knew that they all saw him, were watching him. It left an eery feeling, almost comparable to a dementor, that followed him about. How could he let them go knowing they were just an invisible wall away?Â
This was something he hadnât talked to anyone but Hermione about. She was the only one who hadnât lost someone incredibly close in the war. Ron, Ginny, they would likely feel the same weight from the knowledge he did and he didnât think to share it would benefit them. Besides, what was there to say?Â
His hands were shoved deep in the pockets of his jeans, wand still close-by out of a habit of paranoia that still played at the hairs of his neck. He rarely stopped at one place for long, the headstones he needed to visit all being sprawled out amongst the vast space. He stopped now though, as a twig cracked a few yards behind him. The sound seemed deafening in the silence, the sound of crickets finding his ears once more as he allowed the cloud of thought to pass.Â
Harry turned suddenly, his hand going to his wand but stopping before he could pull it out. âOh.â He breathed windily, clearly feeling a relief. âItâs you.â
â hey.â hermione replied gently as she approached the other- her hands in her pockets and she didnât move quick; for the exact reason why she did not say anything else before; because she knew harry. she knew harry better than she knew herself and she needed to not act quick- act calculated; even more so than she usually does.
then she was by him and she offered him a small smile that probably could barely be seen because it was late and it was dark, but hermione didnât care. not when she needed to check up on someone and remembers clearly the first time they went to godricâs hallow together. it was even colder than it was now- she even remembers the feeling of fear and emptiness she had. sheâs sure he might have had too.
â sorry, didnât mean to come up like that- just thought to come and say hi.â she looked around them as if she was saying hello to not just him- now knowing what the power of spirits can do.Â
