I will try my best to compile as many tumblr posts of interesting bug creatures as i can within my lifetime, i will reblog the bug (most often isopod, with some myriapods that could be included, because theyre awesome) try to narrow down it's phylogenetic tree as much as i can and present it to any isopod/myriapod lover! I will also post my amateur bug pictures on here, not restricted to isopods or myriapods, which will be tagged with #my photo

I will tag my posts with isopods by #isopod and any milipede or centipede posts with #myriapod (with milipedes and centipedes having their own tags).

tma/tme do in fact include nonbinary people! the reason there are only two terms is because they describe how an axis of oppression is applied to people, and it is applied based on the (incorrect) binary view of gender.

transmisogyny is the oppression and discrimination towards people who have "failed" to meet the standards imposed by traditional patriarchical society to be considered masculine, and instead pursue femininity (this is an oversimplication, but will suffice). you are either Affected by this, i.e. it is a pervasive and disruptive force in your life, or you are Exempted from it, i.e. you are not the *intended recipient* of transmisogyny.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION: tma/tme are not identity labels! you do not choose to be tma/tme! they are the descriptors invented to describe an external force and its effects.

it makes no distinction for actual gender identity because transmisogyny doesn't give a shit what your gender actually is beyond what was laid on you at your birth, and your "failure" to meet the standards of that assignment. but Specifically when it is in pursuit of femininity/away from traditional masculinity.

to be entirely honest i've stopped caring about isopods like 90% as much as i did before estrogen started working and i stopped being miserable, unsure how and why. they're still great and top of all things out there but really aren't a priority within me

Cymothoa exigua

A species of parasitic marine isopod belonging to the family Cymothoidae. It is infamous for attaching itself to the tongues of fish, where it survives by feeding on blood and mucus before functioning as a replacement tongue.

Native to warm marine waters, it is one of the most unusual known parasitic crustaceans and is widely studied for its bizarre host relationship.

Scientific classification: Family Cymothoidae, order Isopoda.

Habitat: Coastal marine environments, living inside the mouths of fish hosts.

Typical size: Up to 3 cm (1.2 in) in length.

Distribution: Eastern Pacific Ocean, especially around the Gulf of California and coastal regions of Latin America.

Oh I will talk about my day a couple of days ago. Was taking care of this big large plant, by big, she is big, I can venture into the plant, so thats what I did...and found a giant piece of dead wood...and guess what. I flipped it over. SO many isopods!! Was very happy oh I was in there smiling. And there was a millipede living there too. And a slug. It was very nice. That day I found so many bugs and it just makes me very hopeful and happy, I also saw a queen bee that day and that means spring is COMING
