nxtawitch:
She hadn’t yet begun to decorate the burh her husband had built, the house small and cramped compared to what she’d grown used to. “It is no inconvenience, though I warn you, the weather here is always stormy.” Gisela grinned, and motioned to a seat near the hearth for him. “Come, warm yourself while I get some food.”
He did as was told, nodding to her once more in gratitude before wandering over towards the hearth, quick to warm his hands against the soothing kiss of warmth from raging flame. ❝ -- I shall have to keep that in mind. ❞ was Teutates’ response, allowing but a small chuckle to escape passed his lips as attention turned back to the flames. ❝ I mean not to pry, but do you live alone, my lady? ❞ Due to the houses undecorated state he had not seen any ornaments that would suggest a male’s presence, though surely one so beautiful as she would not be absent a husband.
revamping my old Beowulf account ( @bexwulf ) - its still under construction but head on over and click that follow button if you & your muse(s) would be interest in hanging out with him.
also, the entire soundtrack from the 2011 Red Riding Hood is Teutates’ aesthetic.

Her hair was unbound, his arrival had meant she’d scrambled to become presentable once again, and the woman had forgone plaiting her hair for more clothes than a shift. A candle in hand, she found a traveler on her doorstep. “Come inside, we’ve got some stew and ale to spare.” She gestured for him to cross the threshold, smiling. Hospitality had been engrained in her from childhood.
He was grateful to her, or at least feigned being so. Crossing over into the threshold, darkened hues took a moment to observe his newfound lodgings. While they could certainly never compare to the grandeur of what Teuates’ already called his home, it was quaint and well received. ❝ -- forgive my intrusion. Had I know the storm was coming I may have thought better than taking to road. I am in your debt for your kindness. ❞

I love battle couples ok.
Fighting side by side. Trusting each other completely. Trying to protect each other. Casual banter in the middle of a fight. Their teamwork. Sparring each other to keep their skills sharp. Getting uncontrollably angry if the other gets hurt. Kissing each other when they’re victorious.
I seriously have a thing for battle couples.

❛ normally, my children – ares and athena – would be handling this meeting, but they’re otherwise occupied so… you get me. ❜ zeus held out a hand to shake, flashing his winning smile for effect. ❛ shall we discuss alliances, then? ❜
@ofgallia
❝ I would have it no other way. ❞ Teutates took grasp of Zeus’ hand, shaking it and offered his fellow deity a courteous nod. The smile however, was yet to be returned. ❝ -- but a shame nonetheless. It would have been good to see Ares once more. But yes, let us discuss. From what my brothers have told me, you hold keen interest for Gaul’s fighting men? ❞
Note: Because the term “motherland” is an English invention that was coined somewhere during the 17th century, and the term “fatherland” was used to describe the roman empire back in the day, Teutates will refer to Gaul as the fatherland, also.
❝ I ask nothing but food & water ... ❞ a weary traveler, rugged and without means to house himself for the night. A woman, alone in his presence. Some might argue it was cruel for the gods to test the true hearts of men .. but even they grew bored in heaven.

HOW TO LOVE A GOD: i. be prepared to burn. there is no way this will not spell tragedy, and you know this singsong melody of warning bells: your father’s gentle words, the restless-reckless humming beneath your skin. if you want to love a god, learn to ignore it. ii. throw yourself off cliffs to teach yourself how to fly. throw yourself off cliffs to teach yourself how to fall. iii. hollow out your body, divest yourself of these useless mortal organs. fill yourself with longing instead. iv. know that there are only a handful of gods but a world of mortals. you will not be the first glint of metal to catch the light of the sun, and no matter what you weave into your heart at night, you will not be the last. v. never forget that you will burn.

❝ & here I had hoped to of at least spent the next millennia of my long life never having to see your face. ❞ words fell from his lips casually, but the meaning behind them bore some semblance of truth. ❝ -- what a disappointing day this has turned out to be. ❞

❝ you play well, for one so young. ❞ praise from a deity whose patron was the arts, now that was a rare thing -- but then again, had this meeting truly been within the nature of coincidence? likely not. ❝ who is it that taught you? ❞

DEMIGODS ; the all too familiar outcome of when a divine fell prey to temptations of mortal flesh. It was never difficult for Teutates to distinguish one of his own under most circumstances, even if they did stand as but only half. ❝ -- Whose runt are you suppose to be? ❞

REBLOG IF YOU ARE OKAY WITH JUMPING AROUND IN THREADS/PLOTS. sometimes it can take ages to get from point a to point b and half the fun is the journey. but sometimes it fun to explore different aspects of a plot. flashfowards, flashbacks, parts of the plot you have discussed but haven’t reached yet. It’s so fun to explore every part of a plot and have multiple threads in different places in a plot. Or sometimes different memes you sent/receive may not fit the point in the plot you are at right now, but fit a flashback or flashfoward. So reblog if you are okay with having different threads in different points in the plot.
STARTER CALL: alright, so give this post a like if you’d be interested in a small thing with Teutates. // verse & length may vary. ♥♥
—- oh the battle may be bloody, but that kind of works for me.
