         Their descent into the deeproads had been a blur, each event passing more quickly than the last. He had heard of the horrors that awaited them but no story could prepare them for what they had faced. There had scarcely been time to think, to breathe. There was a threat lurking around every corner, latched to Ellis’ back & whispering threats of everything that could happen to them if they were to take a single misstep. The archdemon had reared it’s ugly head, making itself known to them in a brutal reminder of what was to come. Just the sight of it made all of the fear he had boxed up all the more real, causing his lungs to drop into his stomach. He had nearly been sick at the fearsome might of the damned god. It commanded the endless swarm of creatures that the three remaining grey wardens had sworn to defeat. It was the most helpless he thinks he had ever felt before. 

That is, until they were faced with Branka’s mad ramblings. She was a wretched, evil woman. It was something Ellis was not afriad to admit… But they all had to do terrible things to survive in this blight. He could see some of her twisted logic  behind a thick armor of cruelty that she almost seemed to wear proudly. Regardless of her actions, she was close to holding the greatest power Ellis had ever seen, ever experienced, in the palm of her hand. He remembered wielding the power they held in the fade, how he could take on tenfold of what he could in his own body. Golems were a product of blood magic, a testament of the power they would have to wield to survive this blight. It pained him to be against his sister, but he felt there was scarcely another choice. 

      “ Lily, don’t be a fool. “ His words are heavy with a desperate sort of fear, one that blinds him to the logic she spoke. Ellis stops in his tracks, meeting his sister’s gaze in a stubborn challenge. He couldn’t let go of the idea, it seemed to be at the heel of every one of his thoughts. He could no longer hold his tongue, else he feels like he may scream, “ We may not have another opportunity like this. “ 

There were a million things that could kill them, threats in every shadow. Ellis was sure his mind was eating itsself alive trying to be ready for each of them. He was sure that the Golems would serve them in their plight against the darkspawn, of this he was sure of. If there was one thing he had learned in their travels was that power was power, the price could be paid later. There’s a bit of an edge that creeps it’s way into his voice. He wouldn’t ignore the thoughts buzzing in his skull any longer,  “ The Anvil of the Void could be our salvation. “

           it was getting worse. the argument, the tension, the heat. everyone was starting to notice and decided to remain quiet and not get in the middle of it --- thankfully. it would just make it worse if they did.  ❝ ellis, are you--- ❞ she bit down on her tongue. breathe. keep going. it was stupid to stop just to have this argument because it would mean they’d spend even more time in the deep roads and the deep roads were, very possibly, the worst place lily had ever set foot into. 

          including the mage tower at lake calenhad filled with demons and abominations.

          ❝ of course we won’t have another opportunity like this. hopefully we don’t run into anymore crazy, muderous, treacherous lunatics like branka that would do something like this. ❞ how could he not see just how despicable his suggestion really was?

          but, of course, he insisted. their salvation, really? finally, lily stopped walking and turned around abruptly, making the entire group stop. her voice came out much higher and more forceful than what she had intended, but she was no longer able to control her temper.  ❝ do you have any idea just how DISGUSTING you are being right now? i cannot BELIEVE you would side with a woman who betrayed her family, her PEOPLE like this. because you can rationalize this was much as you want --- you ARE siding with her. can’t you see what that makes you?! ❞

          she didn’t want to say it. it was too horrible and she still had her wits about her to pull back, but the heat around her --- or was it the cold? she couldn’t tell anymore. but the air was heavier and difficult to breathe --- was slowly clouding her remaining judgement. morrigan, alistair and oghren stepped back discreetly, watching the fight unfold.  ❝ you’re the one being incredibly STUPID. ❞

after taking my mandatory 45 days off from tumblr after being active, i’m coming back. none of my threads have been dropped. <3 i’ll reply once i get organized though. i already drafted and followed people.

        branka had run off again --- of course --- and the deep roads felt endless. maybe they were. and if it wasn’t enough that they had to fight hoards upon hoards of darkspawn, giant spiders, golems, a broodmother and had actually seen the archdemon itself, they couldn’t stop arguing. about branka and her proposal. about the anvil of the void.

        ❝ ellis, we are NOT doing it. i am NOT budging on this. ❞

        branka was going to die and her plan was going to die with her. it didn’t matter how impressive the golems were. it didn’t matter how useful they would be --- none of those arguments would convince her. branka was a traitor: she betrayed her lover. her people. her FAMILY. lily could never forgive that. 

        ❝ this isn’t up for discussion and you need to STOP bringing it up. ❞ they had never fought this much before. maybe it was the weight of everything they had been through until now, finally straining their relationship. she wasn’t used to being this angry at him, but he just wouldn’t give up on the STUPID idea of going along with branka’s plan.

yup, you heard it here first second (because emi is fast af): lily is now affiliated with ellis ( @higheverlost ). it doesn’t mean they’re exclusive, it just means that ellis is now part of lily’s canon. after a lot of talking and plotting and writing and thinking, it just makes sense. just feels right. <3 will be updating lily’s bio in a few.
