Coccyx, tailbone: What outdated beliefs do they still carry, if any? / Kafka and Lin-Ling!
kafka is still very much a ' let's talk on the phone ' person rather than conversing over text. i think the more kaiju he becomes, the more human he wants to be? if that makes sense. he craves the physical, not the digital. and finds peace in doing things the ' old way '. I think his belief is, of he keeps human moments in his life, that grounds him enough not to allow eight to resurface.
example: AI? helllll no.
like kafka, lin ling is made of a different cloth. the commoner. & very much like his new persona, he enjoys common every day things. a cup of coffee from a small coffee shop - not the franchise with fancy flavors. falling back into old habits: editing, reviewing, creating in the supe space. even if its just for his own benefit. being nice was... overwhelming. parts of nice still linger, like habits. lin ling is still navigating how to be himself again.
Did Mina have a Bakugou phase… (Monoma would ask but he also doesn’t want to Know)
she looks perplexed at the question. damn. some days she wasn't sure what planet she was even on anymore. do people not have eyes? it wasn't exactly like she ever hid her feelings, well, unless it was for good reason.
lips part, dumbfounded. mina was briefly at a loss for words. " of course i did!! have you seen his abs, his eyes, and that stupid hot smirk? i wanna know who DIDN'T have a bakugou phase!! "
a hesitant laugh as mina rubs the back of her neck. " ah, pretty sure i've had an everyone phase at one point or another, but, shh. spill that tea and feel my alien wrath! "
So Jiro… what’s going on with you, Yaomomo, and Kaminari?
" .. not that it's any of your business. but, we all liked one another and now they both hold my hands. now, .. s h o o. and if i catch you prying at them for any more info, i'll be sure to plug my amp in right next to your eardrum. "
kaminari really just wanted two hot girls and he bagged them both.
Tarsals: What past mistakes stick with them with every step they take? / For Frieren and Hawks!
keigo has.. a lot of regrets. & has made more than his fair share of mistakes. he is probably more of a vigilante than he was a hero. he regrets not speaking up about the commission sooner. he hates how he handled everything with twice. there are days he wished their roles has been reversed. but, he was doing the job he ultimately believed, at the time, was the best. he just wishes it didn't have to have the result it did.
he knows he is a shitty mentor. & he feels bad that he was never more present with the young heroes that looked up to him. he also made the biggest mistake he probably ever could have by not confiding in others sooner. having that bond with someone, having.. friends. it's something keigo's never really had. hawks only made it seem like he did. he wished he would have opened up to endeavor sooner. maybe, this would have changed if that were the case.
dabi is an enigma. someone that no matter what the verse or scenario keigo is attached to him by the string of fate. & there are several mistakes and regrets there too - but if I continued, then this ask would be all about them now, wouldn't it?
she's been told time and time again not to dwell on the past, but lately it's all she can do. perhaps it's one of the faults of an elf's longevity in age? wistful remembrance and reminders of what once was as a lesson for the future? oh, himmel.
human emotions have always been a troublesome thing for frieren to understand as an elf. in her travels with fern and stark, it's become more clear to frieren now more than ever, that: she should have opened herself up more to her party members. been a more open student to flamme. maybe have gotten on serie's good side.. and met more of her elven relatives.
as a mage frieren should have read more elven texts. studied more of flamme's books. given fern more praise. showed more kindness to her companions. for a majority of her lifetime frieren has spent it.. alone. humans, frieren has found, have changed her, near every century. one, moreso than others.
frieren's biggest mistake will always be: never voicing her feelings for himmel.
maybe one day she will finally come across a spell that allows her to traverse time? wishful thinking. frieren is realistic enough to know that no such spell exists. & so, frieren carries this regret with her, every day. vowing to make up for it in her care of fern and companionship of stark by sharing all the kindness snd wisdom that himmel passed onto her. for him. but, for herself, too.
Carpals: What small habits do they have? // For Shoko and Lumine!
lumine is a veey thoughtful person. she goes out of her way to ensure that those closest to her are taken care of. most notably in canon: her cooking. she will happily ensure that paimon and her companions eat hearty and well. aside from that, and perhaps this is a descender trait: she's a bit of a bookworm.
in looking for aether for so long, she's had to find every scrape of information she can. in her time in teyvat she's learned a lot about the different lands, their cultures, their histories, and their people. tumaini especially enjoyed natlan's histories! it's also not uncanny for lumine to try and find time to spar and reflect. she often finds peace nestled in a secluded place or camp with nothing but a soft blanket and a book. the stars or scenery are an added bonus.
shoko is vastly different. she's a sucker for fun and chaos. practically a badge of honor calling geto and gojo her best friends. .. specifically, the chaos element, gojo. despite her medical degree (that she cheated her way to get), she actually hates any form of studying, reading, etc. she's much rather put her feet up on a stack of books than read them.
since she was in her younger years she's always been fascinated with photography. a small passion she knew with parents for doctors she would never get to see come to fruition. memories are important to her, perhaps because she doesn't have many fond ones of her own childhood. you'll often catch her pulling you in for a selfie.
s l e e p. please make her sleep and rest, please. she needs more of it and never gets enough due to her work as a doctor.
she.. indulges: drinking. smoking. - coping methods. .. do you blame her? though.. at her happiest and healthiest, she's quit in the past - time will tell.
when not working, she just wants to enjoy life and spend time with those closest to her. date night, dinner and drinks - she's probably the most easy going partner / friend you'll ever have. just, don't get on her bad side.
slow .. ish? day at work. so, imma dive into some things here. i think I can safely say for the foreseeable future that my activity will be back to normal. 🥹 missed you all so very much! happy munday! all of you are beautiful humans I love see in my phone, and I am sending you all sunshine, good vibes, and easy starts to your week. get yourself a treat, you deserve it. ✨️ ❤️
Nanami waking up after Shoko miraculously managed to save him after the events of Shibuya, and the first thing he does when he sees her is bolt upright and kiss her.
"I almost lost my chance."
— @eclipsecentral
when she took on the position as jujutsu high's on call doctor all those years ago, shoko did not think for a second that she'd ever encounter an event quite like this.
she could scarcely wrap her head around all of the events as they unfolded around her. she was still grieving geto's death - was he even truly dead? shoko shut her eyes painfully at the thought.
everyone she knew, everyone she cared about was out in shibuya right now, risking their lives. while she was stuck here at a medicat tent, waiting for their wounded bodies to return. it was maddening. having to wait around doing nothing while everyone you ever loved did all the fighting for you. shoko was starting to understand what women in war times felt like waiting for their loved ones to return. the only difference being, as a combat doctor, shoko gets to see them on death's door, too. lucky girl.
she'd quit smoking, until news of geto reached her. it was the only thing to keep her hands from shaking. & in waiting for the wounded sorcerer's returns, shoko had smoked nearly a pack of cigarettes already in between setting up her medical tent and preparing for the worst. much to masamichi's disdainful looks.
when the first slew of sorcerer's came, shoko rolled up her sleeves and got to work. few were in critical condition, luckily. in the second wave she'd lost two patients, but continued to work. the third wave came and exhaustion began to settle in. but with practiced fingers, shoko continued to work through the fatigue and saved even more unfortunate souls that had to endure this hell.
each time the door to her tent opened, shoko cursed under her breath. this was war, she understood that - but, she was one person. lucky for her, those that were able chipped in where they could. at some point, she switched off her emotional side and dr. ieiri took over. if her emotions got in the way, she'd be of no use to anyone.
as the night slipped into morning shoko recognized more and more faces. even first year and second years. she hadn't taken one break all evening. barely holding herself together, shoko continued to work through. but, in the midst of the flurry, her heart left her chest when two sorcerers carried in kento. " no.. b-bring him here! to me! clear a space! "
steeling herself as best as she could, shoko reached for his wrist to find a pulse. faint, but he wasn't gone yet. with half the tent watching, she didn't care when she looked upon his face and tears streamed from her eyes. " bastard.. " she muttered, wiping at her eyes with the back of her hand. " get him on the table, quickly. "
her hands were stained red from the events of the evening. no matter how many times she washed them, she couldn't clean them properly with the quickness she needed to act with. ripping what remained of kento's shirt off, shoko pulled a curtain and went to work. " i imagined ripping your shirt off in so many other ways.. " as if he could hear her. the faint green light from her reversed cursed technique emitted from her hands and shoko used what energy she had left, giving it all to kento.
maybe it was adrenaline. maybe it was her sheer will.or the fact that she turned her emotions back on. but somehow, she'd done the impossible: healing nanami and nearly everyone else in her medical tent. including poor nobara, though, she's need more time to heal than the others.
shoko was just finishing stitching up nanami when he stirred. the bags beneath her eyes were larger than usual, she was covered in everyone else's blood but her own, and still as he opened his eyes, shoko managed a smile. " morning, hands- !! "
shoko doesn't expect kento to sit up so quickly and before she can protest, his lips find her own. too tired and relieved to care who saw, shoko melted into the kiss and returned it.
her lips tingle where his met her own only moments ago. they part when he pulled away and shoko finds herself stuck in place, trying to process it all. one kiss and she finally understood just how exhausted she was. his raspy words hit her, and shoko feels tears welling in the corners of her eyes again. wrapping an arm around his shoulders, careful of his wounds, shoko rests her head in the crook of kento's neck. she takes her thumb and flicks him on his chest for good measure (she didn't want to have to stitch up another wound, her hands hurt..)
" do something like that again, and i'll kill you myself, idiot. " she held him tightly in her arms, like at any moment she could lose him all over again. that was something, she'd vow never to do again: lose him. " after I sleep for a week, and you heal some more, I want that coffee you promised me from the bakery. " / @eclipsecentral ❤️
Nanami hardly resisted the urge to roll his eyes at Shoko's words, but for once he was in a forgiving mood - the small get together had managed to lift his spirits some.
"Trust that Gojo overbought sweets for this, I'll have enough sweets to last long past when they'll be edible. Enjoy some cake, Ieri." He told her, pushing his hands into the pockets of his slacks, trying to ignore that he could still feel where her hand had touched his, the cool of her skin against his warmth.
He stepped in to stand beside her at the side of the room, watching how the others interacted around them, everyone enjoying the light atmosphere and laughter amongst themselves.
"I'm glad you made it. I'd started to worry you'd decided not to come after all." He remarked after a moment, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. Of course, if she hadn't made it he would've understood entirely, she works hard and he knows all about being exhausted from work, but admittedly he'd have been disappointed.
" gojo overbuys everything.. doesn't surprise me. " a smirk as she reaches for the fork on her plate. there's a soft nod of thanks in kento's direction before she cuts a small piece and takes a bite. it'd been a while since she had sweets. and this cake? was good.
shutting her eyes at the decadent taste, shoko's smile only grew. " wow, this is good. " her eyes opened to meet his. " take me to the bakery some time? they might gain a new customer if they serve coffee too. " a teasing smirk, as shoko indulges in another bite.
kento's words give shoko pause as she takes the last bite. chewing the cake thoughtfully, shoko tries to formulate a sentence that made sense. for some strange reason, she was suddenly speechless. it was a good thing the room was dimly lit, perhaps kento had missed the faint pink that had risen upon the apples of her cheeks.
brown eyes lift, and shoko's gaze softens. " even if i am the last one here i wouldn't dream of missing your special day. " setting down the empty plate on a nearby table, shoko turns her body in kento's direction.
giving him her full attention, shoko raises her hands and adjusts his tie that had gone askew and moved off to the side. now, standing in front of kento, shoko looks up at kento beneath long lashes and her smile widens. " besides, i haven't even given you your gift yet. "
after fixing his tie, she reaches into her labcoat pocket. " here. happy birthday. " holding out an old string of silly mall photobooth photos featuring the both of them making ridiculous faces and bunny ears, shoko smiles fondly. on the white photo backing there is a heart, signed with her name. they were young kids once too, shoko hadn't forgotten and knew that with all the recent events, kento could use a reminder. they all could.
" i found it when i cleaned up my apartment in town and moved back to the campus when i took the job in the infirmary. it's been sitting in a box for years, but, it's time it saw the light of day again. " she missed the light of day too.
" since we're on the subject of photos, let's make gojo jealous, hm? " a grin, as shoko turns. her back presses lightly against kento's chest as she fishes for her cell phone. grabbing it from the opposite pocket of her labcoat, shoko flips the camera for a selfie, sets a timer, and looks up at kento with a sparkle of trouble in her eyes. " oh, there's one more gift.. " tilting her head upwards, she left a mauve lipstick kiss on kento's cheek, right as the timer on the camera went off. " that one was for the cake. "
“Frieren, besides demons, have witches or mages ever eaten people?” (Stark’s asking a trusted source)
her brows raise at stark's question. " what a strange thing to ask. " for a moment, frieren ponders. fern was saying something about a run in at the center of town.. could these events be of relation somehow?
" this wouldn't have anything to do with an encounter with witches in town, would it? i heard there was a small impressionable young girl there ― you should take heed of your surroundings before you say such things, stark. " still, frieren smiles. she pushes herself up on the tips of her toes to ruffle stark's hair. if he'd come to her instead of fern, then he really must want to get to the bottom of it all.
pulling her hand back to her side, frieren reconsiders the question at hand. " demons certainly have, you've witnessed their destruction firsthand. as you well know, nothing in this world is certain. from the little i can gather about these strangers you encountered, they're from a different continent entirely. as we know little of them and their culture, we cannot make any kind of determination that would make fact or fiction of such a thing as cannibal witches and mages. "
" i can safely say, that in my years and travels, i have never witnessed or heard tale of it. but, an old friend once told me, that fairy tales all start somewhere. ― we cannot prove or disprove your question. " her eyes slide back in stark's direction. " though, these strange witches from what fern explained to me seem safe enough. perhaps a thank you is in order? " a rare soft smile and a tilt of her head in stark's direction.
" thank you, stark. it seems you may have found witches that i've only heard whispers of. like the elves, these witches are incredibly hard to find. last i met one i was a mage's apprentice. i'd like to meet them, and see who this scary witch eater is for myself. "
a finger is placed to frieren's chin. " hmm.. maybe a peace offering of sweets to dissipate the lingering tension? or, a gift perhaps? ― do you think they could use a spell to remove people's clothes? "
