About Trudeau's "affordable" housing, where are people getting the $2000 rent figure? I can't find it in any articles.
The CMHCâs definition of âaffordableâ housing is typically far more expensive than working-class renters can afford. According to CMHC, the median household income in Brampton is just over $87,000, based on 2016 census data â 30% of that median figure amounts to over $2,000 per month.
From here:
Justin Trudeau Announced 302 âAffordableâ Rental Units Will Be Built in Brampton. The Developer is Only Building 72.
What the fuck is the point of saying it is affordable if it will only be affordable to half of the population or less?? Median is a real shit way to determine affordability especially with income inequality being so grossly out of whack.
Iâll say it again but if you canât afford it on minimum wage, it is not affordable.

And EHS is super, super fucked right now. Like I cannot tell you how fucked the ambulance service is in this province. Iâm talking the other night there were 2-3 hour waits for calls marked as code 3 (thatâs highest level emergency). If youâre not a code 3, they might have one for you next week sometime.
So, if youâre in BC and in need of medical care, I implore you: If you can get yourself to the hospital rather than calling EHS, DO IT. If you can wait another day and go to the clinic in the morning instead, DO IT. Please do not call for an ambulance or go to the emergency room right now unless you really and truly need it.
