The Heart Arcana:

Finn and Huntress, as the Hanged Man Reversed and the High Priestess combined. This is my tribute to F&C S2. I poured a lot of my love into this drawing.

I barely have looked at what everyone said about the finale, it... it really affected me so much, there were a lot of hard moments, even though I knew it was gonna turn out okay, it still... hurt really bad to see Finn like that. Hurt REALLY bad. Finn was very much in the hanged man position - he was literally at Huntress' mercy. She held his life literally in her very hands. I feel like making Finn wait for her for over a decade, and for him having to literally die before she relaxed her guard around him is... a little cruel to Finn. I understand she had her trauma too, but so did Finn. I... I get mad at her for this because I see myself reflected in her so much. I did something similar to my partner, and, just like Finn - he waited. Stuck beside me when I pushed him away. Kept trying. So loyal, so good, just like Finn. ...and the person I adore and treasure with gratitude. My heart.

Finn is a fucking treasure.

That line hurts so much after the "true love's kiss" sub-plot. He literally had a small army of people lining up and storming the castle because they all love him so much they thought they'd be the one to do it.

This season watered so many crops.

perfectly highlights the how the insidious lies depression tells you are so very wrong but they don't feel wrong when you're in the thick of it.

A little holiday illustration I whipped up for some crew thank you cards for the handful of people still left in the office right after I wrapped up boarding on episode 9. Looking at it with fresh eyes a year later, it's giving a little "We have Kris Mukai at home." Hmm. The Karmic Worm's design hadn't been finalized yet, but it's not too far off! We also put together some goodbye/last day cards for our coworkers during the course of production. We'll usually write a little note for the person expressing our thanks and admiration and appreciation and maybe throw in a drawing too. Here are the doodles I did for the aforementioned Kris, and our writers Kate Tsang and @jackpendarvis. Jack's cat Big Boy, formerly (or perhaps contemporaneously) known as Sad Face, has since passed away, but it's clear he was an adored icon.

Have a nice holiday, everyone. Oh yeah, and enjoy the finale of Fionna and Cake S2 on Thursday too! If you're working though (like me), I wish you double pay and no oversight.
