Something about the one who survives.
(Second digital painting. Everything still takes forever.)
I feel like this needs to be printed as a poster in many, many copies, and distributed to many, many people right now. There would need to be options with different character pictures available, maybe one with all of them squeezed in.
Please, do not go to war over fictional people. They don’t care.

This man deserves more flowers. He’s so good.
I love Magnus. Love the deranged and broken nut job.
Love how Gabriella acts like a petty middle schooler and goes ”Do you think you're the only one in the company he drinks from?” (=”You’re not special, he doesn’t even like you!”),
and Armand one-ups her middle schooler game with ”Do you think I am the only one with disdain for his fledgling?” (=”Well, you are very special because nobody likes you!)
Isn’t it at least a little bit funny that Armand referred to Lestat as tasting of vermouth and annihilation, when those were the exact things he himself served Daniel in Dubai?
Working bitch face
This is peak Armand face.
This is how I’ve always imagined him.

I can't believe there are people watching the Vampire Chronicles shows and going, "Louis is the sane one."
My brother in Christ, Louis is not the normal one. Lestat isn't normal. Armand isn't normal. Everyone in this series is absolutely out of their minds.
I think it’s kind of funny to think about them as normal. So many of them are so chaotic that their average — normal — mental state is totally batshit.
Autumn Brown had my Devil’s Minion piece on the wall for her after-show interview with Eric Bogosian, and it made me happy! Love her interview style and her enthusiasm.
If you don’t already know about her, you need to go watch her! This specific interview contains the world’s longest bleep-out of Mr. Bogosian spoiling absolutely everything, comme d’habitude.
I think when there’s a convention about Armand’s silly things it’s always circles back to blenders and kitchens items but mostly blenders, which to me gets tired, I want to talk about instead why does he have eight phones. Because he does and I never see anyone talk about it, or when they mention it we move on from it.
You know because I understand owning the other stuff, because they’re convenient, so I would think that’s the same reason as having so many phones, but if I think about it having eight of them is not even that convenient, so like, I guess he just has some of them for funsis. We know he likes things for fun too like movies, they don’t serve him anything other than entertainment instead of convenience so he HAS to have some of them to entertain himself, and we go back to my original thought of what does he do on them. Let’s say he has some for convenience okay, what are the others for, what does he do on them.
Also I don’t think he only had so many phones in the devil’s minion era, I wholeheartedly believe that he continued having them, we just don’t hear about it like we only hear about these eight only once.
I’m going to add this to the very important discussion about Armand’s phones. Old mention of Daniel talking about them (and Armand’s snake score) at vampire kindergarten show-and-tell:
@daytimesleeper Oh, that could go four ways I think. At least four. 1) ”This is a painting of my maker when he was a mortal. In the 16th cen
Started on a Magnus sketch (so it’s a wip I guess), because he never gets enough attention. I have no idea what to do with it though. I can’t decide how repulsive to make him. He looks a little sad right now. Maybe he should be allowed to be a little sad, just like everyone else. Can’t imagine vampirism turned out the way he thought it would.
(I find Damien Atkins very beautiful, btw. There are so many skilled actors on this show who have been blessed with becoming more attractive as they age.)
Reading them all back to back is quite funny.
A ranking of Lestat’s book intros from least to most ridiculous.
I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT "The floor slants slightly to the North" FROM EPISODE 5 MEANS
NEARLY ONE-AND-A-HALF YEARS LATER
IT'S BEEN ON MY MIND NEARLY EVERY DAY
AND FINALLY CAME TO ME REWATCHING IT TODAY
Armand is commenting on the disturbed foundation of the room, exposed by the trail of Daniel's blood
In Gothic Horror, the setting is ALWAYS a reflection of the character's interior lives.
So Armand commenting on the slanted foundation is actually just hyperfocising on the fact that HIS AND LOUIS' RELATIONSHIP'S STABILITY IS UNEVEN AND UNBALANCED. So Armand repeating it, and that they must fix it before they sell it, is him saying that THEY HAVE TO REVIEW THEIR FOUNDATION before they can "sell" it to someone else.
And the disturbance reappears when Daniel enters one of Armand’s and Louis’ homes for the second time, in Dubai.
”The building sways a bit, but that is according to its design.”
And there Daniel is, making his hosts aware of the groan they’ve become deaf to.
This is one of the things I think this show does so well — it keeps the gothic horror very present even at times when the visuals are far from what one would associate with the genre.
One of my sixteen WIPs of this man.
I think this one will be a watercolour/pastel style, but getting a hang of all the different brushes and how different saturations, blends, and flows work with each one is hell. And yeah, it’s new (to me) software, regrettably.
Wow! I love drawing! Drawing is so much fun! I- hey wait. Wait thats Armand. I drew Armand again.
I have…*counting*… eight WIPs of him — eight digital ones. I also have eight plus on paper/canvas.
That is sixteen WIPs for the same character. At least.
Send help. This is not normal.
I personally think that Lestat should focus on being very grateful to Armand for not presenting him to the world as Pantalone. He could have, but he didn’t.
(There is a lot to say about Lestat being written as a fantastic clown character — with a lot of Lelio characteristics baked in — but I really think Armand’s kindness should be the key takeaway from this situation.)
