Please please help Uncle Tigger find a home! We don't have a lot of time.

Urgent help needed, diabetic kitty, I can drive several hours from Tulsa. I will try to find a way to get him to you. We have until the end of September.

Look at this man! Skrunkly, well-loved, full of so so so much love and devotion. Please help me find him a home. I can't keep him more than a month, and after that, he will need to be put to sleep.

I will drive him out to you. I can go as far as 5 hours if you want to come meet me, and maybe try to get a caravan going if you're further.

Tigger's people's living situation changed for the worse and they are now in a really unsafe unsanitary house, and also cannot afford to keep up with his diabetes meds. They were going to have to euthanize because of it but I agreed to take him and try to find him a home. To give him a chance. This cat raised their youngest from an infant, was in the crib with him. He has given this world and his humans everything he has. They are absolutely devastated to part with him, but they have to.

He is super sweet and friendly, okay with dogs, okay with other cats, VERY VERY okay with kids. He gives love bites, but they are a bit too hard if you let him keep going, so he will need to be taught not to do that. More than that I cannot say. I don't know him super well but he is sweet. He mostly just wants human contact and love.

He is about 12, diabetic, and untreated for it. I have put him on diabetic food and am going to see about Senvelgo for a medication. He is neutered. He is a big ol' fatty, a real chungus. I think he has a respiratory infection, which I did not notice until after he saw the vet yesterday. I don't know that he might have other issues. I can't give any guarantees. He will need medical care to stabilize him and a clean safe home where he can live out his senior years.

Please, please help! He's in my back room right now and can't be allowed out because he needs to be quarantined. It's bare bones in there as we were clearing it out to repair the wall from some storm damage, and so he's alone a lot. He is lonely. He is used to TONS of love.

I can't keep him. I don't have the money to keep up with his meds or the ability to get him to the vet appointments he will need, or the ability to care for a fhronically ill cat right now. And he looks so damn much like a cat I had to have put down very suddenly and tragically last year that it is very painful for me to spend as much time with him as he needs. I keep crying. He is breaking my heart in every way.

Local shelters are stuffed and can't take a chronically ill older cat, so I'm stuck doing this on my own.

I know I keep saying please, but PLEASE. Tigger has given humans so much. He could have a lot of good time left!

Tarot: Understanding Your Deck

Connect With Your Deck The best way to connect with your deck is to sleep with it either beside you, or under your pillow. This will allow your energies to get used to each other. If possible, you should take your tarot deck around with you.

Visual Bonding This may be difficult for some, as it can be time consuming, but it can be beneficial to sit with each card, take note of what the symbols within the card represent. This can further promote a bond between you and your deck.

Interview Spreads A great way to really understand the personality of your deck is to ask your deck questions. Questions can include; What is your favourite card? What card do you feel represents you/me best?. I personally feel like one of the best questions to ask is 'Do you want me to count fallen cards into the reading?' As many tarot readers do feel like if a card falls out the deck, it counts to the reading where as others don't, I believe it depends on the personality of the specific deck you're working with.

Meditation Sitting with the deck and allowing yourself to meditate with it can be a really important part of tarot reading as it allows you to feel more secure in your relationship with the deck. It can open up your intuition with the deck and improve your relationship.

Readings Tip - Watch out for patterns within your readings! Reoccurring cards, numbers and symbols may be trying to reach out to you!

The Star is the trickiest card in tarot.

In some situations, I would rather get Death, The Tower or The Devil.

Originally, The Star foretells one’s greatest wish coming true.

But according to my elders, and my own experience reading for myself and others, it mostly manifests either as a kind reminder to hold on, or as a scolding for wishful thinking.

The first is positive, though not as gleaming as its historical meaning. It shows up for querents who are going through a tough time. It is a promise from the Universe that the rain will stop and the sun will shine.

What is disturbing is that the second meaning manifests just as often. It shows up for querents who are longing for reconciliation with a former lover or with an abusive family member. It is a declaration from the Universe that they should stop their harmful, senseless yearning.

Make sure to note the cards that surround it. Beside the undeniably positive ones, such as The Sun, the Ten of Cups, the Ten of Pentacles and The World, it might just embody what it means originally.

But when it is next to cards of gloom and confusion, such as the Ten of Wands, The Moon, the Two of Swords and the Five of Pentacles... careful not to be consumed by your delusions.

Reasons why your tarot cards are not making sense :

You are not asking a specific question but are mixing up things.

You don't see what you "want" to see.

The energy is very scattered.

Your guides, higher self or god etc. don't want you to know.

You have not cleansed your deck, if you usually do.

Troubleshooting Your Tarot Deck

I read a bunch of people for unnecessarily cleansing their decks but didn’t actually provide any alternatives! So I wanted to describe some of the ways I troubleshoot my tarot decks. Please, please, please feel free to add on.

Sleep on it. Literally. My favorite way of working through some wonky readings is to sleep with my deck under my pillow. I like to do it for 3 nights but you can really go as long as you want. You may have some pretty crazy dreams, but I like to think that means it’s working.

Change things up. If you’re dealing with repetitive answers, change how you approach it. Whether that means changing your spread, your question, your shuffling technique or a secret fourth thing.

Put the bitch down. I have found that doing readings too often can muddle them together (well, I’ve had trouble with reading for myself too frequently. Multiple people in a day is fine, but draining). Taking a break of even just a couple days can make all the difference.

Make an offering. Your tarot deck has a spirit too! Appreciate what it does for you and give it a gift. It could be a symbolic offering, like food, alcohol or some incense, or a new case to live in.

Give it a recharge. It might be acting funky because it’s tapped out. Use whichever is your preferred charging method. I like moonlight and sunlight (ironically, they are also cleansing methods, but it’s all about intention at that point).

Ask it what’s up. If you ask your deck why it’s acting out, it may just tell you what’s going on. Maybe it wants one of the other solutions, maybe it wants something else.

If none of those things work, then I’ll cleanse my deck. Sometimes it’s as simple as a smoke cleansing, sometimes it is reorder the deck and let it sit in salt for a week, it just depends on the situation.

Explain the basic: The Tools

and here we are again with some basics!

Disclaimer: All the information I have is from books and reviews I did on each topic that I'm going to talk about in this series of "Explain the Basics." I invite you to have multiple sources of knowledge when it comes to learning witchcraft and non-witchcraft. At the end, you will find the books from which I gained information.

Today we are going to talk about the many tools that a witch can use and the variety of functions that they have. (You are not forced to have any of this tool in a specific way; anything you have in handy can become THAT tool; don't waste your money, honey!)

The clothes and accessories: there is no specific dress code what so ever when you practice witchcraft, but it can come to your own advantage when you use your own closet as a tool, even just for fun. I specifically use colors and accessories to present myself in a certain way, or simply because I give those clothes an important role. (ex: I wear yellow when I want to feel adventurous; I have a perfume that I use when I want to make new friends; and I use a choker to feel powerful and confident.)

The book of shadows and/or the grimoire: The book of shadow and the grimoire are often seen as the same thing because they have something in common. The book of shadow is more wiccan, and the grimoire is more for everyone outside of the religion itself. They are both used to write personal practices, rituals, information that can be used, etc., but the grimoire is more of a book already written. You can write your own grimoire, just as you can write your own book of shadows, and they both are good.

Altar bowl: It is not a fundamental object for your altar, but it can be used to make mixtures or squash some ingredients that you may need in a certain way. This is an object that is easily replaceable by a container big and deep enough to contain the ingredients (like crystals, erbs, salt, water, ashes, etc.).

Candles: When it comes to spells and rituals, the color of the candles matters just as much as the candle's durability. Some spells will require a short-term candle, and others will require an hour-long candle. MAKE SURE THE LIGHTED CANDLE IS AS FAR AWAY FROM ANY INFLAMABLE MATERIAL, LIQUID, OR GAS AS POSSIBLE.

Crystals: They hold power and energy that are crucial for witchcraft. Every crystal has a different meaning and effect. For a crystal to start functioning, you have to give it a purpose. Do this by meditating with the crystal, setting your purpose, and connecting it with it. Every crystal has different care and ways of clensing, but this is a discussion for another "explain the basics".

Incense: It is often used as a way to purify objects or environments that may be polluded by bad energy or feelings, even to purify our mind and body. There are two types of incense: fuel and non-fuel. We all know the fuel type of incense, which is the one in a cone or a stick. and the non-fuel type of incense must be lit only by a carbon disc placed on a heat-proof plate; generally,  we can find it in dust, a smudge stick, or a bundle of dried herbs.

Witches broom: is used to clean up the sacred space and wander off evil or residual energy from any spell or ritual.

wands and athame: an instrument used to channel and direct the energy. I know it sounds like Harry Potter shit, but it is used this way. The athame and the planchette are used in the same ways. The athame is a witch's knife and was used to cut herbs, etc.; the planchette is the little thing we found on the Ouija board that lets us see which letter is used. (Do not use the Ouija board as a game; it is no game.) be careful.

A big misconception I see come up a lot is that tarot can predict the future. In a sense, it might, but it's a lot more nuanced than that.

There is no 'THE future'. There are lots of different futures and lots of different paths you could be led down, but not all fates come to fruition based on the choices we make.

Tarot should be used to gain insight and reflect on your current and alternative paths. You can't necessarily predict how something is going to go, but you can use them to look within yourself and see what might need to change to get on the path you want to be on.

This is one of the earliest things I learnt when beginning tarot, and learning this can open you up to different paths and possibilities, as well as allowing you to ask the right questions to get where you want to be.
