The amount of disdain and contempt Alec held for the state of Alaska was rather uncanny. It was nothing more than a mountainous wasteland, blanketed in snow, sustaining a poor population of some of the worst blood he’d tasted in well over a century. However much he disliked the current arena and dreamt of his home in Italy, he was going to be here for the foreseeable future and wanted to familiarize himself with the area. Much as he had expected, there was nothing of note in Denali or the surrounding wilderness. The remoteness, however, did have its benefits. The boy was running full speed across empty stretches of snow and patches of enormous trees until he came closer to the outskirts of the city. He slowed down there, keeping his pace a slow as the average human as he took in the, what some would call, sites. Much to his surprise, he caught a whiff of a familiar scent and smirked gently to himself. It wasn’t like Jane to stray out in the daytime, or ever really, without some kind of malicious intention. He followed her trail until he came upon the park. Watched from a distance, the sight of the children one he recognized far too well. He stifled a laugh, watching his sister throw the ball across the park with a flick of her wrist. Assuring no eyes were on him, Alec moved across the street and park to stop the ball with his foot. “ Is this yours? “ He asked the boy, a devious smirk striping his features. The boy nodded to him and Alec shot a quick glance to his sister before crushing the ball under his foot with a satisfying pop on his way to greet her. “ Play nice. “ He offered the child the tip as he passed and made his way to sit next to the blonde. “ Remember the days when we brought down Dacian empires? Now look at us. “ He teased with a laugh, his hands finding the pockets of his jacket. “ I didn’t expect to find you out here. “
at his scent she grinned, eyes immediately going to him. any interest she had in the girl and her bullies immediately gone as her brother appeared. --- alec made everything better, even when it wasn’t going bad, he made it better. her laugh ( like sweet bells ) left her lips at her brother’s actions. the laugh continued on in joy as the little boy cried and ran from the ‘scary teen’. her eyes went to the sky for a moment, the sun was still securely hidden by a thick layer of grey clouds. her smile became playful as he spoke. “ i remember; watching the citizens scramble like ants as we took to the streets. i think some of them may have already believed they were dead when they saw us. i think a little girl called us angels before being crushed by that house, ” her voice was light, as if her mind were in some far off place. at his next words she tilted her head, her eyes meeting his. “ i was bored. you weren’t there and heidi was droning on about the lack of attractive men. she did enjoy her italian food. i thought it might be good to get a look at the....awful, ugly town we’re now in. alaska is truly hideous. ” she missed the sand colored buildings of volterra. missed sticking her hand out the window of her chambers and letting her mind wander as she lost her mind in the diamond like appearance of her skin.
