🌬️— ALYSSUM VERONICA SERLING : && Kol Sinclair @ofxlilac
moonlight // chase atlantic
we're running in the moonlight, we're dancing in the open waves
you're hanging for a good time, something that'll make you stay
and girl, you fall down again, you tell me you're all out again
could you show me the way again?
you're talking in and out of the subject
just call me when you're finished, are you done yet, girl?
she just wants to talk through the daytime
and i just want it all when the time's right
yeah, she's about to fall for the third time
the nature of it all--
caught up in your own small world
well, i might wanna see it then
pretty venom (interlude) // all time low
i think i'm going through denial
it's been a while, but it's clear when it hits me
i think i might have gone insane
i rot my brain, getting high on our history
always know i'll be the one you'd sink your teeth into
never thought i'd taste as good to anyone but you
how you gonna say that? take it all back
fuckin' with my head will make my heart attack
runnin' 'round in circles down a one way track
'cause you know what you do, pretty venom in my veins
how many ways, can i say this over
we never dated // sombr
you were clever, knew when to deliver your lines
and make it seem like you weren't that bright
you were better in every way by design
you were too good for a man's confine
how come we never even dated,
but i still find myself thinkin' of you daily?
why do you always leave me achin'
when you were never mine for the takin'?
you are a pretty one, nice to romanticize
but you don't make yourself easy to like
you like to have your fun, you dance around the line
of what is wrong and what is right

Character: Kol Sinclair
Location: xcaliber dome
Kol didn’t pull the skateboard out often anymore. It was more of a relic from a younger version of himself—before suits, before expectations, before everything had a weight to it. He’d taken the board out partly to clear his head, partly because the path led past one of his brother’s favorite spots. And if he was honest with himself, there was still something addictive about the rush Xcaliber gave him—the wind cutting past, the brief illusion of freedom that came with speed.
As he carved down the path, a figure drifted into his line of sight.Kol didn’t slow.“Watch out,” he called, the warning edged with a crooked smirk as he swerved smoothly around them, gliding past with the easy precision of someone who’d done this far too many times.
He glanced back over his shoulder, dark amusement flickering in his expression “You should be careful.”
Nina had been killing time waiting on someone—friend, acquaintance, whatever label fit today. Either way, she’d picked this place on purpose. Somewhere the staff didn’t pretend to be polite and weren’t afraid to throw a little attitude around. That kind of energy kept things interesting. People had to be a little bold to catch her attention anyway.
When the waiter came by with their usual edge, Nina just grinned and ordered her standard without hesitation. “Cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake.”
While she waited, her gaze drifted around the room until it landed on the person beside her. They looked like they were either struggling to keep up with the place’s vibe or trying very hard not to react to it.
Nina leaned back slightly, amusement flickering in her eyes. "This place never ceases to surprise me. The service, pretty fun, right?"
Avery has always had a soft spot for sweet things, especially the kind you can savor slowly. Chocolate was her weakness, the kind that made the world feel lighter for a moment, like stepping into a candy shop as a kid and realizing you could pick anything you wanted. That small, simple kind of joy never really left her.
With a quiet smile, she slid into her seat just as a soda was set down in front of her. She glanced at it, noticing it wasn’t the flavor she usually ordered. For a second she wondered if the server had simply mixed things up, but then she looked around the table, considering that it might belong to someone else.
Turning slightly toward the person beside her, Avery gave a polite, apologetic smile. “Excuse me,” she said gently, lifting the glass just a little. “Is this yours by any chance?”

BACKGROUND
Xander Montgomery was born second — by minutes, not by expectation.
As one half of the Montgomery twins, heirs to a long-standing lineage of high-ranking Virtues, Xander grew up in a household where reputation was sacred and emotion was measured. Their parents were disciplined, composed, and unwavering in their standards. Love was present, but structured. Support was abundant — so long as rules were followed.
From childhood, Xander and Xavier were inseparable. They challenged teachers, friends, even family to tell them apart, switching roles with unsettling ease. What began as a harmless game slowly became something more philosophical to Xander. How well did anyone truly know another person? How easily could perception be shaped?
Where Xavier sought victory and validation, Xander preferred observation. He watched reactions. Studied patterns. Learned the mechanics of attention, admiration, desire. He discovered early that people were far more predictable than they believed themselves to be — especially when emotion was involved.
Gifted academically and relentlessly competitive, Xander gravitated toward medicine, eventually specializing in Neurology. The human brain fascinated him; it was the closest thing to honest architecture he could find. Unlike people, neural pathways did not pretend to be anything other than what they were.
When Xavier’s wife was arrested in the middle of their anniversary dinner — publicly exposed for embezzling from the Montgomery family business — it did more than stain their name. It reshaped Xander’s worldview. Watching his brother humiliated, watching years of devotion dismantled in seconds, solidified a belief he had long held:
Love is a liability. Marriage is exposure. Devotion is exploitable.
Xander had never liked her. He had observed her too carefully, and he’d tell others her precision unsettled him. But even he had not predicted that betrayal.
That failure to foresee it has never sat comfortably with him.
Now, Xander moves through Virtue with effortless grace — boyish charm hiding surgical perception. He engages respectfully, laughs easily, and makes others feel uniquely seen. But cross him, or worse, threaten his family, and the warmth evaporates. He does not raise his voice. He does not posture.

Angelie is sitting in the hospital staff break room, a perhaps frowned upon habit that no one has ever stopped her for since she was little. It's hard to turn down an innocent face with an endless supply of baked goods and a growing list of family friends in the staff directory. Several people were quite befuddled when Angelie hadn't gone on to even work in something like hospital reception after graduation. Sometimes, so is she. Now, she's far too preoccupied with staring at one of her best friend's nose as she eats lunch. Wait! She's clearly supposed to be responding to something. "I-I'm so sorry, what... that's... I think I missed the last part of... what you said."
Avery had been discussing how she had wanted to change her hours. Three shifts, twelve hours each, seemed like a lot. She wanted something more comfortable, possibly four days, just ten hours each. That was reasonable enough, but as she was speaking, she could tell that Angelie was lost in thought. Chuckling at her friend, she paused, "I said that long days are driving me crazy. But what seems to be going on in that pretty head of yours?" she asked, truly curious and a bit worried for her friend.

Alyssum dangles upside down off the side of Kol's couch, entirely unaware of whatever they'd just been discussing as she starts a new subject. "Jaren won't stop bragging about how he has a date to a Virtue wedding tonight, but I heard it's just Matty. He's so insecure sometimes," she teases. "Why do you think he even wants to go to a wedding if he doesn't believe in love? And how dry is a reception without a single tonic?"
Shaking his head, he was sure his brother had his reasons, whatever they may be. Kol couldn't remember the last wedding he had attended. Perhaps it won't be entirely boring for Jaren. Looking over at the possum. "My, you're just filled with curiosity," or simply bored. "Maybe since single people attend, he may just get lucky. If Matty is his wingman, I don't know if that is a disaster or actual fun," he chuckled. "You have a point, I suppose that is virtue," he stated with a smirk.

BIO -
Avery Reeves is the kind of person people trust before they even realize why. She carries herself with natural grace — a warm smile, a steady voice, and the ability to calm a room within seconds. Patients cling to her reassurance, nurses rely on her direction, and doctors know that when she speaks, it’s worth listening. She doesn’t demand authority; she earns it.
But her strength wasn’t inherited. Avery didn’t grow up wanting leadership. She grew up learning how fragile life really was.
As a teenager, she lived carefree — the girl next door everyone liked, the one people gravitated toward without effort. Some envied how perfect her life seemed. She always had friends around her, especially one — her childhood best friend. Most people assumed they would eventually end up together. They never did. They were simply inseparable.
Until senior year.
TW: mentions of fire and death
What was meant to be a harmless prank at a bonfire party turned into a nightmare when a fire broke out. In the chaos, she lost him — and the version of herself that believed tragedy only happened to other people. That night rewrote her future.
She chose the medical field and dedicated her life to making sure no one else felt that same helplessness again. If she could save even one life — be there when it mattered — then it meant something. To Avery, healing isn’t just medicine. It’s presence.
Yet one wound remains untouched: her father.
Christian Reeves chose Vice. Her mother rarely spoke about him — and when she did, it was with resentment. Maybe they were too young, maybe life pulled them in different directions, maybe family was never what he wanted. Avery never allowed herself to hate him. She only wants to understand why he left… and why he stayed away.
Living in Virtue, she poured herself into Mercy Hospital, rising through dedication and relentless effort. She watched it grow, watched patient care improve, built a team she was proud to stand beside. Avery wants more than routine treatment — she wants progress, innovation, something that pushes medicine forward. If she can save a life, it means one less loss, and that has to mean something.
Avery’s nature perfectly: gentle but resilient. She didn’t choose medicine for prestige, she chose it because she knows what it feels like when no one can fix the hurt in time. A peony blooms soft, but its petals are layered just like her strength. Beneath the calm leadership is grief she turned into purpose, and every life she helps is her quiet promise that loss won’t be meaningless
First Love: She would probably have said it was her best friend who had passed away. While people may have thought them to be a high school couple. Avery knew it couldn't be anything more than that. So she loved quietly, and from a distance. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and she loves fiercely. It may not worked out, but she fully believes that love heals and changes everything.
"Soft as silk, yet impossible to resist; she commands attention without trying."
Camellia fits someone who doesn’t fall apart in public. Vivian keeps her pride intact, masks vulnerability behind confidence, and chooses carefully who gets to see the real softness beneath. Affection from her isn’t loud — it’s deliberate. If she lets someone close, it means they mattered enough to pass every wall she built.
First love: -----
Vivian feels in the silence and keeps her emotions deeply rooted. Her first love had broken her heart. Instead of allowing heartache to consume her, she pushed it aside. A part of her believes that if she shows any kind of affection and means it, it is a weakness. She has used love as deception, something unachievable and undeserving of it. Her father raised her to be like her brother, but there was no affection. So she searches, craves it, even if that means masking her real emotions. Wearing a mask, so no one sees that she yearns for it too.
"In her elegance lies warning: not all that shines is safe to touch."
Foxglove connects to a person who loves deeply but protects themselves carefully. They don’t open up easily, but once trust is earned, their loyalty is fierce. It reflects a heart that wants to help others while quietly guarding its own wounds.
First love: Dante
She had grown to love a friend in her childhood growing up. It was foreign and yet something she couldn't shake. It is not something easily displayed, while others may wear their heart on their sleeve. Nina tends to keep her guard. While love can heal, it can also harm. She has been betrayed by it once. The love for her friends is fierce, but it does not hold gentleness as it had before; it carries a sharpness in protection.
Flower: Jonquil (Type of daffodil)
HIRAETHTASK: 007
"Even the coldest seasons cannot dim the courage of a bloom reaching for the sun."
Daffodils emotionally represent hope after hardship — the quiet kind that comes once the worst has already passed. They bloom at the edge of winter, symbolizing healing, resilience, and choosing warmth even after loss. Rather than naïve happiness, they carry earned optimism: the feeling of surviving something heavy and still deciding to keep living, gently and openly
First Love : ----
Kol isn't even sure if he knows what love actually means. He knows the love of his siblings and cares deeply for them. A bond like theirs can never be broken. His mother and father did not have love, and so he longs for it. Gravitates toward affection. Even if he himself cannot explain it, he has love in him. It's in his actions. He is full of warmth that tends to gravitate people towards him and overcomes any obstacle his way. He also would help overcome any challenges or trouble for the person he loves.
The silence that follows is nearly as long as the first. God, will Nina really make her spell it out? With a groan, Marlana pulls out the anonymous text, showing the screen to one of the only people who might understand. "My secret? It has to be someone from --" Her inhale is sharp. Reliving the memory isn't an option. "-- the reason we're here."
She hadn't thought about that. Secrets are being revealed. The risk of exposure, and now this random text? She took a deep breath in. "You are sure?" for all she knew it could be someone random, but who else would know?
Standing at the closed gate, Pippa huffed and put her hands on her hips, great.... her plan was going to have to be put on hold wasn't it? She spotted some knights lingering nearby and shot them a smile to show that she wasn't up to anything then sighed, turning away but she wasn't going to be defeated by this, no, her plan would have to be adjusted. To distract the Knights from her, she waved her arm, seeing Vivi walking nearby. "Hey girl hey!" Then she went over with a big smile on her face. "Act like you know me."
She had caught up on the people that owed her. At least for today. Smiling as she texted Jaren a spray emoji. she found herself walking back to vice when she heard someone speak. Hey girl hey! well, that got her attention. She wasn't sure she recognized the other. Raising a brow, Vivian put on her best smile. "Babes, I know you didn't go out wearing the wrong color lipstick. We have to go back to the store."
