PROGRESS IS BEING MADE PEOPLE and as someone who isn’t a jeanco (is that their ship name?) ship, im actually really pumped for this one heheh

Marco hums. “There’s was… a Titan,” he says shallowly. “I remember my gear didn’t work. It’s… kinda fuzzy after that? I dunno I might’ve passed out,” Marco says, uncharacteristically dismissive. “I woke up in these village ruins… Ragako I think? I dunno, there was a huge blond Titan though… I don’t think it could move, it was lying in this collapsed house. I managed to find my way here and…” he laughs, looking at Historia. “I found out the Krista is— is the Queen? I mean— no offense,” he adds hastily.

“None taken,” Historia says curtly.

“And I heard something in the halls,” Marco adds, scratching his neck. “Something about… ‘Eren’s grave’? Like— Jeager? The “I’m gonna kill every Titan’ Jeager? When the fuck did he die?”

Jeans throat goes dry. “Marco…” he starts cautiously, unsure of how to start. He can’t. Not when the freckled boy is looking at him so eagerly. No. Man. The freckled man in front of him, because this isn’t the same Marco Bott he knew once upon a time. This is an older Marco, one with eyes that have lost the vibrant shimmer. One with shallower dimples and deep set scars visible on his face, neck, and trailing down to his collar. This is a Marco with a milky eye, like Levi’s. But damn if those weren’t the same freckles, the same smile.
