totally feel ya! i was thinking the same thing re: sabrina carpenter. i just don’t think taylor’s cheeky lyrics are as well done as sabrina’s? taylor’s sound a bit clumsy imo. still love a lot of the major themes in the album, but i agree. not for me. and that’s okay!

ofc that's perfectly okay ! as long as you enjoy it and have fun with it, that's the whole point of music 💕✨️✨️

tongue in cheek lyrics are not my cup of tea personally so that's why i couldn't get into this album, like i really value feelings in music so i lean more towards serious lyrics lol if that makes sense hence why the album didn't hit for me ! i still love taylor though and i wish her the best <3 i do find myself disagreeing with a lot of things she's done on this album, themes she explored and the way she went about it, but those are my personal qualms and other people are free to like the album and interpret it as they wish 🤷‍♀️

as a hard-core taylor fan i can't say the life of a showgirl is my favorite release of hers

it's not a bad album, it's just that it feels inauthentic. it really feels like she's trying to pull a sabrina carpenter with the cheeky lyrics but im personally not the biggest fan of that so this album doesn't really hit

as a huge fan of midnights the sound should hit but it doesn't really ??? i like opalite and the fate of ophelia sonically but that's about it

anyways that's just my unsolicited personal opinion feel free 2 ignore i just have no swiftie friends irl to talk to abt this 😩
