“don’t get me wrong i have gone about and socialized and done the duties of a proper man but nothing too interesting,” vincent stated with a grin. “why is your heart not in it? are you simply feeling off today?” he questioned softly with concern in his gaze, “has anyone made you feel uncomfortable?” he loved his sisters more than anything in the world and he would not stand for any kind of ill treatment towards them.

“Everything is swell, brother -- I can assure you of that.” She smiled, hoping this would reassure him. She was, hesitant of social events following her previous relationship, but she was growing fonder of such things. “I am taking it one step at a time.” She smiled, tilting her head. “I am glad you have -- but for now, care to join me for a walk? I fancy seeking out somewhere a bit quieter, perhaps you can tell me more of your day?”

the mused words that the woman spoke had hamish chuckling lightly, a thick brow raising as he peered toward her. “you speak as though you know my mind better than i.” he teased, a smirk then settling on his face. “i see my reputation precedes me.” hamish chuckles again. “now that would be telling.” he smirks, shooting a quick wink in her direction.

Eyes follow him closely, knowing all too well that she was correct in her assumption. “I am good at distinguishing things -- besides, Lady Whistledown is a credible source.” She teased, amusement in her tone.

vincent couldn’t help but chuckle as his sister’s voice reached his ears, glancing up he gave her a small grin and shrugged his shoulders. “honestly no reason, there just hasn’t been anyone who crossed my path that has been interesting to woo yet.” he shot back with a grin, “but the real question here is why are you here and not letting some proper gentleman woo you?”

She knew she was acting hypocritical, by judging his attempts to remain out of prying eyes, when she did herself. “You got me there, perhaps my heart is not truly in such things today.” She responded, weakly smiling. “No gentleman have taken my eye , and you know my previous decisions in men have been far from wise.” She laughed, shaking her head.

"Dearest brother, why are you here and not wooing the ladies of the ton?" She inquired, a hint of tease in her tone, a grin moving its way onto her lips. She enjoyed teasing her brother, but despite this, she was genuinely curious.

The Viscount closed the journal he was sketching in with a huff, his eyes narrowing as he rubbed black charcoal from his fingers with a hankerchief he had, at some point, bought for his wife. It was a beautiful day but he had been out here ao long that his stomach had bugun to growl and he laughed softly at himself.

"Would you care to join me for a drink? I'm in dire need of a whiskey."

The fete was in full swing, evidence of joy and laughter in the air. Much to her dismay, she had lost her sister and brother, and thus had taken to sitting and observing couples in the making.

Upon hearing a voice, Margo smiled widely. "I'd love to, I think anyone will need a drink after observing the ton all day, especially those clearly making their move for suiter."

HE TURNED to her and bowed in courtesy. “Sir Phillip Crane, miss,” He introduced himself. “Seems that a bit of fresh air will always liven up our spirits.”

His company was appreciated. Noting his bow, she curtseyed upon hearing his title. “Pleasure is mine, I’m Margo.” She smiled weakly, sighing deeply. “I think so -- it provides clarity, especially at an event where feelings are often high, and can cloud our judgements.”

He seems kind , an aurora of which she appreciates, and embraces. “It is easy to forget what a beautiful city we live in, the gardens are always spectacular.” She beamed with a smile.

She was feeling apprehensive, and was doing her best to disguise this feeling. She had not long left her fiancée, following incidences of control and abuse, and she was beginning to worry that fate was doomed to repeat itself. She was doing her best to put on a positive outlook, not wishing for people to witness her wavering. She knew Lady Whistledown was on the look out, and she did not wish to give her any negative reasons to speak of her past. She placed her basket delicately on the ground, placing the blanket alongside it. Inside the basket posed sandwiches, fresh lemonade, and some brownies she had asked the staff to prepare. She hoped whoever had won liked her choices.
