AKA "Danny gets isekai'd into the DCU, specifically the Batman comics. He unintentionally kinda-sorta makes the batfam think he's a meta with prophetic powers. " DPxDC prompt idea!
Okay, so Danny was a huge Batman fan as a kid; he used to have all the comics and watch the movies. Then, as he got older and Phantom duties become more time consuming, he sort of forgot about his old collection.
The only thing he really remembers about it is that Batman is Bruce Wayne, he's had several sidekicks including the later renamed Nightwing and Red Hood. He vaguely recalls Tucker talking to him about some insane plot lines in the future comics that Danny didn't keep up with, but all thoughts come stumbling to a halt when he sees the Batman fling himself onto the roof where Danny is. And then he's got to make some very quick decisions.
The interrogation goes something a little like this:
Who are you? A teenager. What are you doing here? What, a kid can't hang out on a rooftop anymore; you the rooftop police?? What are you doing in Gotham? Your guess is as good as mine. Etc, etc. Danny thinks he's doing a pretty good job side-stepping the guy's questions until he says, "Look, I'm not up to anything bad. Why can't you just go back to your Batcave and your stupid dinosaur, and leave me alone?"
Which - oops. Yeah, most people don't know that the literally Batman has a dinosaur and that his hideout is called the Batcave. The next several weeks is just Danny evading the batfam's attempts to kidnap question him. Except he's physically incapable of not making sarcastic banter and unintentionally digs a deeper hole for himself every time he opens his mouth. The more time he spends in Gotham, the more he remembers his old passion for the Batman comics.
It all comes to a head when Robin is trying (and failing, since Danny isn't one to hurt a kid) to fight Danny. Robin is snarling and doing something surprisingly complicated with his sword, and Danny is admittedly having a bit too much fun riling him up. (So what if he spends a couple of minutes antagonizing him - the only social interaction he gets nowadays is with the batfam, sue him for having some fun with it.)
"Desist this child's play and surrender!"
"Nah, kiddo. Also, why are you out so late? It's a school night. Shouldn't you be in bed right now? Go home and cuddle with your dog, kid." Danny should probably stop talking, but he's dodging the kid's attacks and his mouth runs faster than his brain. "How's Ace doing, by the way? I had a dog named Cujo. I bet they would've gotten along great."
Robin stutters to a stop, looking shocked. Danny takes the opportunity to run, but not before he hears the kid's voice muttering into his coms: "Robin speaking, our identities may be compromised."
AKA "Danny Fenton activates Bruce's Bat-Dad instincts after getting hurt by Gotham goons. Guess there are some plus sides to looking like 90 percent of the Wayne brood." DPxDC prompt idea! TW: Gun violence, assault, dental injury
Okay, so, Danny probably shouldn't have been walking home from campus so late at night. And probably definitely shouldn't have cut through an alleyway just because it shaved a good half block off his travel time. And... then laughed when several goons "asked" for his bookbag. (But, c'mon, you're gonna rob a ghost? Not that these guys knew that. But - seriously?)
He wants so badly to soup these guys, but Gotham doesn't belong to Phantom and he's not about to step on Gotham Knights' toes. He's getting ready to go Inviso-Bill when a hulking black shadow drops down into the alley, taking two of the goons to the ground with it. The problem is the third guy - Danny's so focused on Batman that he yelps in surprise when the goon grabs him by his hoodie collar and slams the butt of a gun directly into Danny's face. It mostly catches him in the jaw and clips his lower lip.
Batman wastes no time in apprehending the third guy, who was apparently going to use Danny as a hostage and failed miserably, but Danny's so preoccupied with the taste of blood in his mouth that he barely notices. It hurts like a bitch. (Sure, the second he goes Ghost, his human side will heal, but the pain is still really, really freakin' bad.)
"Are you hurt?"
Batman's voice is growly and deep, exactly like what Danny expected it to be, and he can't help but offer a wet laugh. At some point, he crouched down against the alley wall and clamped his hands over his mouth to staunch the blood. He thinks he hears Batman say let me see but his swollen tongue is pressing against his lower front teeth. To his increasing horror, he feels several wiggle and two actually pop (ew, ew, ew-) out, following a string of blood into his awaiting hand.
Without much thought, Danny looks up at Batman and offers his hand - bloodied spit, teeth, and all. All Danny can say is a pained and definitely horrified, "Uh."
There's a moment where neither person moves. Then, to Danny's befuddlement, Batman takes out a wet wipe from his belt and gently scoops the mess from his offered hand - taking care to clean his palm as best he can. An oral anesthetic is given, gauze for Danny to bite down on, and a stern instruction to go to Dr. Leslie Thompkins clinic ASAP. And then... a crisply folded $100? Danny takes it because, well, obviously. Money. But also what the hell?
He doesn't have time to really think before Batman is grappling away. With Danny's teeth. (Danny feels a nefarious grin overtake him as he wonders how many teeth he can lose before Batman gets suspicious. He's been wanting a new Nintendo Switch for awhile now.)
Danny finally had the courage to tell his parents that he was Phantom. Well, it didn’t go as it had hoped for. But. They didn’t take him to the lab to be vivisected, they also did not take him to the GWI.
But they did not want him . They expressed it with anger and disgust .
Jazz was not there to mediate the situation , so they took him far away from home and left him in an orphanage , not being able to keep a ghost that was no longer their , but they still have love for the boy he used to be but they couldn’t believe that he is no longer with them . It didn’t matter how much Danny said that he was still there little boy that he was still alive in his own way . They just took him and left him . The last thing that he heard from his parents was that if he ever had the thought of returning to Amity Park , to forget it as the next time they saw him, they would finish what they always wanted to .
He stayed at orphanage but still went out to patrol and help out the justice league when he could or he left a clone if he wasn’t tired. He even tried to ask if he could stay at the justice leaks headquarters, as some of the adults had a place to stay there.
He was told that he was not an official member so he could not have one as it would mean the members could not be out of uniform so that he would not know their secret identity. Danny looked pleading at Superman to try to convince Batman otherwise but Superman also agreed. Danny could not be trusted yet.
So Danny returns every time to the orphanage tired and disappointed. I mean after so long fighting for them and proving time after time that he was worthy of their trust, and in the moment that he needed it the most they would not budge.
After a short time after , a group of the orphan kids were all adopted. Him included.
They were brought to a facility that were filled mostly with younger children.
He thought that he had no chance to become phantom as his day was observed recorded and he had an uncanny feeling that it would be better not to transform.
One night after the doctors made some test he was told with some other children were chosen for a special treat.
The last thing that Danny remembers after lying on the bed was some kind of red smoke.
After he woke up. Pain.
The same kind of pain when he first emerged from the portal freshly half dead.
He looked to his hands and saw that they were screwed on and they looked like they were made for a doll.
He touched his face and felt a permanent smile. He looked around.
And he saw a mirror window and he saw his body.
He almost looked like his ghost form except, he was a doll.
The scientists were extremely pleased with him as he was an anomaly.
They were even harder on him, especially when he tried to defend the other children that were turned into toy monsters.
But during the time that the experiments went on, he started to lose his mind.
He kept asking himself where was the leak? Why weren’t they looking for him? It has been this weeks months. He didn’t know.
No one came for him. As if they forgot about him. As if he was nothing important.
He got aggressive during the tests and one time a guard hit him and broke his face now over the permanent smile went a crack from ear to ear making it look like the mouth of a beast.
He could now open and close his mouth with this new “ improvement”. He bit off more hands and fingers then he could remember.
After sometime, it finally happened.
The doors opened and the hour of joy happened. It was after the bloodshed that he met The Prototype. Danny not having anything else decided to stay and keep “ the peace” with his new friend.
He walks around the playrooms looking for things to do, the hunger never being a problem with his ghost powers.
It just happened that the justice league they were looking for person that received an anonymous letter with a tape. And I followed them information to the factory.
They were entering the factory when they felt a chill, delight starting to flicker and down the hall they saw a slide green light.
Flash was the first to recognise the glow. And he was starting to greet Danny. That is until he got near and saw Dannys new look.
He took some steps back before asking if it was really Danny.
The justice league, after who knows how long they were finally here? But they looked too surprised for that. Then Danny looked at them with rage in his eyes, he smiled before screeching with his second mouth. That was the signal for his little minions to attack the justice league.
After all, it is his duty to keep outsiders out of his home.
Tucker: That was a great Comic-Con. I got to meet so many voice actors.
Danny: I know! I underestimated big city cons. I went way over budget.
Sam: How much did you spend?
Danny: four hundred
Sam: FOUR HUNDRED!?
Danny: I'm including the hotel room.
Tucker: Oh thats not too bad.
Danny: Might be easy for you to say. Both of you guys have money to spare. My extracurricular activities make it impossible to keep a steady job. I need a sugar Daddy. Anybody on this escalator want to be my Sugar Daddy?
Jason turning around: Sure
Danny: *Gasp*
Jason: How much you need, gorgeous?
Danny:...I dont know. I was joking.
Jason: If you want, we can go back down the escalator to the con, and I can buy you whatever you want, then you join me for dinner in the nerd theme bar.
Danny dazed: Okay
Sam: What's happening?
Tucker: I think we're witnessing the beginning of a Rom-con.
Sam: While cosplaying Pride and Prejudice?
Jason: Your cosplay was why I noticed you, actually. I always wanted to romance Mr.Darcy.
Danny: And I always found Red Hood really attractive. Your costume is perfect.
Jason: Thank you, gorgeous.
Tim, slightly in front of Jason: And you said this would be a waste of time.
A Danny Phantom Soul Eater AU as in Danny and crew are in the Soul Eater universe!
Jack and Maddie are witch hunters and both attended DWMA. Jack was a weapon while Maddie was a meister. Vlad is also a weapon but when Maddie picked Jack as her partner and later husband, Vlad flew into a rage. He wanted Jack to suffer and dedicated himself to witchcraft as he was born into a family that had witch ancestors so he already had a latent talent for the craft.
Jazz and Danny both showed early on that they were a fit for DWMA. Jazz as a meister and Danny as a weapon. Jazz has some weapon characteristics but she never was able to fully transform into a weapon and it was basically surmised she never would. She still uses these skills to her advantage.
It's while they are at DWMA that Danny finds out he is a witch. I don't know how but I'm making a flimsy excuse that during a training exercise that went wrong Danny's magic awakened and protected him. I think I want this to take place during the main events of Soul Eater. I briefly debated whether starting there or during NOT events. He will start in NOT classes until he and his partner decide to transfer into the EAT classes. All students have to start as NOT students until they prove and pass the EAT test.
I don't know if I want Jazz to be in the EAT classes or the advanced NOT classes. She's a strong fighter and all but idk if she would choose to be in the frontlines or if she would rather stick to support. I'm leaning more on NOT advanced.
_________
Characters and their designations!:
• Clockwork - A Death Scythe with three different forms. Has been partnered with many Meisters. Most notably with Stein for a period before he became a Death Scythe. (Also a witch but he hides this well.)
• Danny Fenton - A weapon, who, like CW, has three different forms. I haven't decided what the forms all are yet but I do know I want one form to be a melee weapon, one ranged, and one unconventional/explosive. (Aka the three broad categories), one form I do know i want him to be is a dual chain scythe, and of course a witch who ends up discovering there are many like him hiding in Death City. I do want his weapons to all be like dual weapon forms or connected weapons!
• Dani/Ellie - A weapon with two forms and yes she is still a clone of Danny made by Vlad. Only in this universe she started as a golem. She is brass knuckles and something else I haven't decided on XD She did not get magic though and that's why Vlad deems her a failure.
• Dash Baxter - A weapon. He is a mace.
• Fright Knight - A meister.
• Frostbite - I don't know if i want him to be a witch or a teacher at the DWMA
• Jack Fenton - Weapon! He's a bazooka.
• Jazz Fenton - Meister. She already has a bonded weapon i just haven't decided who it is.
• Kwan - Meister.
• Maddie Fenton - Meister! Bonded and married to Jack.
• Mr. Lancer - Teacher at DWMA in the NOT program.
• Pandora - Meister.
• Pariah Dark - a Kishin who was also a witch. Sealed away around the same time as Asura.
• Paulina - Meister
• Sam Manson - A weapon. A Morning Star!
• Spike - A weapon. An iron flail.
• Star - Weapon! Giant shuriken
• Tucker - Meister (I think it'd be kind of funny if him and Sam were bonded Meister and Weapon)
• Valerie Gray - Meister
• Vlad - Weapon and witch. Sword.
• Wes Weston - Meister
• Other ghosts are either witches and if they're really bad then they are kishin.
_____________
Wes saw Danny use his magic to save some civilians during an attack and is trying to get proof which he thought would be easy since they found out they resonate with each other well. Though that isn't saying much because Fenton seemed to resonate with a couple other Meisters. But Wes is determing to pair with Danny so he can get his proof that the weapon is a witch!
Kim and Danny are friends and she is trying to help him control his powers.
He makes the persona Phantom, a witch who tries to be helpful during attacks/crises. He wants to pave the way and show that there a good witches out there. They're not inherently evil like many believe.
This will probably be a Wes/Danny story XD as they a fixated ship for me right now.
Some Canon character interactions that happen:
•Jazz knows Maka and the two are pretty friendly! Also with Tsubaki!
• Death the Kid is interested in Danny due to his ability to form into dual weapons. It's very rare, basically unheard of for one person to become dual weapons. (DTK/ Danny 👀 who said that!?)
• Kim, like said, is friends with Danny. But also Sam.
• Tucker sees Ox as a mentor of sorts but adores Stein and looks up to the teacher.
• Tsugumi, Meme, and Anya all kind of adopt Danny as they see how he is struggling. Especially with picking a Meister.
________
I might expand with headcanons on this idea at some point but enjoy this little bit!
• Danny Fenton/Wes Weston ( I know the official ship name is Unidentified Flying Ship but I also call it Conspiracy Ghost XD)
• Danny Fenton/Valerie Gray ( Gray Ghost)
• Danny Fenton/Sam Manson (Amethyst Ocean) [Kind of, I find it cute but at the same time I see the trio as platonic more often than not. Like I am a big fan of the two dating but being like "friends? Friends.")
DPXDC:
• Jazz Fenton/Jason Todd (Anger Management) [DPxDC]
• Danny Fenton/Tim Drake (Brain Dead/Dead Tired) [DPXDC]
• Danny Fenton/Jason Todd (Dead On Main/Mostly Ghostly) [DPXDC]
• Sometimes: Danny Fenton/Dick Grayson (Death Defying), Danny Fenton/Stephanie Brown, Dan Phantom/Cassandra Cain, Dani Phantom/Damian Wayne, Dani Phantom/Jonathan Kent, etc.
*Danny hiding in the living room with a pot over his head and the lid as a shield as he holds a large fork in one hand*
Jazz: Danny! Why are there marshmallows fighting the ecto-weenies!?
Danny: ......so...funny story....
Jazz: Daniel Edward Fenton.
Danny: Okay so maybe I showed a bunch of blob ghosts all the Ghostbuster movies. And maybe i bought a bag of marshmallows to snack on while we did that. And maybe I accidentally left the extra bag in the kitchen and didn't know that mom and dad left a new batch of ectoplasm samples there as well. And maybe a mischievous little blob-Not to name names but *cough* Blobert *cough* - purposefully tipped the bag into the samples and the marshmallows reanimated and I thought that was the end of it but the blob ghosts found out they could overshadow the ecto-mallows and they declared war on the weenie. They also found out they could shift their look to look exactly like the mini Stay Puft Marshmallow Men.....
Jazz: .......
Danny: ...so, haha, yeah. Then the weenies saw the mallows formed hands and feet and got jealous and took a swim in the new ecto sample too and they were able to grow hands and feet as well and Jazz... I have no idea what mom and dad did to that sample but I'm scared.
Ok ok ok so hear me out. I've seen a lot of stories and prompts where the Joker is scared of Danny. But honestly? Big scary ghost? Whatever, doesn't phase him. He's seen scarier. He's done scarier. Try again.
But you know what has been actually proven to scare the Joker? The IRS. So imagine this man's utter horror when one day an IRS agent just appears in his hideout and lets him know that he still owes them money. The agent gives him a deadline to pay his remaining taxes then leaves.
Joker immediately starts scrambling. He needs to come up with this money fast. No way he's making an enemy out of the IRS. But before that, Johnny? Find my accountant and give him the most painfully funny death you can think of.
For the next few days, Joker is running around, trying to collect the remaining money that he owes but he still doesn't have enough. As the IRS agent so helpfully reminds him every time he shows up.
On the day of the deadline Joker is still just short of what he owes so he pulls out his trump card. Begging.
That's how Batman finds one deranged clown killer on his hands and knees begging for a loan or at the very least some protection and he is utterly confused. It's at that moment when a young man appears out of nowhere.
"I'm sorry. It looks like you still haven't paid all of your taxes," he says in a frighteningly cheerful voice before he grabs the Joker by his collar and drags him into the shadows.
Wait no go back. That's absolutely hilarious. Joker shows up to a gala and Bruce internally sighs thinking the Clown Prince of Crime is about to hold the place hostages for the millionth time. Only for Joker to come up to him, immediately get on his hands and knees and beg for a loan. He's Bruce Wayne, he can afford to spare some money. Please, just a little bit. He'll take out all of Bruce's competitors in exchange he swears. Meanwhile Bruce just bluescreens. Because he's never seen Joker so much as ask for anything, much less beg. Yet here he is. Begging. And for money? Why would the Joker need to be begging for money.
Cue a very cheerful IRS agent spawning from the background.
Danny, benign and cheerful in the midst of the gala attendees: “A private long term loan won’t save you from your the lack of payroll ledgers, Joker. Your goons aren’t volunteers and have their own taxes to file.”
“You can’t collect on every little crime committed, that’s insane!” Joker, still cowering behind Wayne
“That’s what Capone thought,” Danny flips through his (ghost enhanced) clipboard, “You’re alright Mr. Wayne. You opt out on getting tax breaks for your charitable contributions. If you exercised them, the IRS would technically owe you.”
Another flip of the paper, he scans the crowd and lands on two of the guests, “Mr. and Mrs. Powers? Consider this a formal notice that the little social club of yours has lost its tax-exemption. I’m going to need to see some deeds, lease agreements, and an itemized list of the club’s assets.”
Joker tries to sneak away while the two older snob types became agitated. He left a “kick me” sign on Brucie. Danny still chases the clown out the door, yelling about paystubs.
(This one's a bit longer of a WIP so bear with me.)
Some fuckers in white suits and white vans have been encroaching on Red Hood's turf for weeks now. Jason hasn't said anything to the Bats for a plethora of reasons - chief among them being that his pride won't allow him to ask for Bruce or Replacement to come to Crime Alley willingly. He can handle this.
Later on, when they manage to get a cheap shot on him with a lazer of some kind that burned when his back is turned, Jason will regret being so damn prideful. As he's thrown into a cell with electrified fucking bars, he'll regret not having the wherewithal to make sure his tracker was on his person. He has back ups, but they're ones his guys made, and Jason has no idea how long it will take Babs or Replacement to locate it.
Jason tries to kick at the bars with his steel toed boots or find some kind of opening he can use to get out, but all he gets for his efforts is faint electrical burns and the taste of iron and TV static in his mouth.
"You're only going to sap your strength out faster. S'best if you save it for when you really need it." The voice is quiet and scratchy and so, so young. Jason can't see who the voice belongs to, but he can gather that it belongs to someone in the cell next to his. "The bars are reinforced with ectoplasm. S'why they put us in this specific block."
Jason has no idea what the hell ectoplasm is supposed to be, but he gets the feeling he's about to find out.
"You died, right?"
And oh, Jason really doesn't like that that's how the kid is starting this explanation. The more the kid - Danny, he says his name is - talks, the more Jason learns just how fucked this whole situation is. Jason is not happy to hear that this young-sounding kid has died too and that they’re apparently both seen as things now because of it.
Ghosts. That's what Danny calls them. The implications make bile rise in the back of Jason's throat.
The people who have them - the GIW, the Ghost Investigation Ward - apparently have ways to track high spikes of ecto-energy, and Jason is undead enough to ping their sensors.
Jason wonders if these guys can track the Lazarus Pits with that tech. He wonders if Damian and Cass are in danger too.
Over the next few days, Jason is forced into a few tests - blood and tissue samples, biopsies, physicals. They have to hit him with goddamn tranquilizers just to keep him from tackling someone who opens the cage. He has no idea where they put his clothes, his weapons, his helmet.
Danny hasn’t been taken for testing since Jason got there, and he finally has the ball to ask about it.
“...They’ve got something big planned, I think. And they want me totally healed from the last batch of tests before they do it. My food’s been better. Bigger portions. They probably figured out that my healing factor is better when I eat more.”
Then one day, they come to take Danny away. Jason sees him for the first time.
Malnourished, pale, black hair, blue eyes, dressed in a paper hospital gown. A heavy-duty metal collar around his neck.
Jason is suddenly filled with rage and worry for this kid. He tries to reach out and grab him to prevent the GIW from taking him, but the ecto-powered cell prevents him from leaving.
Danny is taken away and Jason panics. They can't take Danny away. They CAN'T.
He’s basically bouncing off the walls trying to get out get away get Danny get out get OUT GET OUT GET OUTGETOUGETOUTGETOUTGETOUT
He doesn’t know how much time passes, but suddenly the cell door powers down and there’s a figure all in red there. She's standing on a hoverboard and holding a glowing green rifle.
"If you want me to let you out, you need to chill."
"Fuck you! Let me the fuck out of here! I have to get to Danny!"
And that - that gets her moving. She shoots at the card reader attached to the mechanized lock and kicks it open with a clang.
“Did you see what direction he was taken? What did they say?”
Jason tells her about the agents who took him away and she says something into a communicator.
"We've got another team on their way for retrieval. I'm going to give you directions and I need you to follow them. There's an evacuation point cleared already and I need you to get your ass their as quickly as you can."
"You're out of your goddamn mind if you think I'm going to leave without Danny." Jason doesn't wait to hear a retort before he's off like a shot down the hallway he saw them take Danny down. He has no idea how he's going to find Danny but he'll figure it out on the way and get him out and-
He's suddenly up in the air, snagged by the back of his paper gown like he's a goddamn kitten caught by the scruff. He's brought up until he's staring into a two pinpoints of Lazarus green in a pitch black helmet. Whoever this is, they're wearing all black armor littered with purple flames and an etherial glow.
"It would seem your core has been contaminated during your captivity, little ghostling. Your injuries will be seen to in the Far Frozen. I will escort you there." The voice has a deep echo to it that vibrates through Jason's ribs, and he grits his teeth at the sensation.
"I'm not going anywhere without-"
"Fright Knight!"
Both Jason and the fucker holding him are interrupted by an absolute Titan of a woman with bright blue skin, flaming purple hair, golden armor, and blood red eyes. She's hovering above the floor like gravity has no hold over her, moving towards them.
And in her many arms-
Danny is limp in her hold, and he's dripping with green and red red so much red. Jasons is at just the right angle to see the loose flaps of skin of his chest that reveal bones and organs and viscera and so much green.
Phantom pains of the matching Y-incision scars on Jason's own chest only make the nausea he feels roil with a vengeance. He's almost positive his face is chalk white. He certainly feels like all the blood has left him. His mouth is watering but he can't stay silent. He opens his mouth to speak, but he can't form the words.
Instead, the sound that comes out of Jason comes out of his chest along with his mouth in a mess of chirping, hissing, and growling. It's no language Jason has ever heard of before, none that he could ever recall speaking in his life, and yet, he knows exactly what it means.
Danny twitches, a minute thing that makes Jason flinch at when he sees it. Fuck, no, please don't let the kid still be conscious. Surely fate wouldn't be so cruel as to make the kid be awake while he was cut up and pinned open like a frog in a classroom.
It was cruel enough to keep Jason awake through every scrape of metal on concrete, a voice whispers in the back of his mind.
Danny's eyes crack open only a sliver, and even from where Jason is, he can see the green glow of his eyes. There's a gurgle, like the kid's trying to talk through a mouthful of syrup, before that same chirping-hissing-growling comes out of his chest as well.
He can't understand it in the way he understands English. It's not spoken word. It's like feeling has been given form.
“It would seem, Fright Knight, that your successor has been chosen,” says the blue-skinned woman. She might have been amused if there wasn't a kid bleeding out in her arms. The guy holding Jason - Fright Knight? - hums before looking down at Jason.
"You shall accompany His Majesty to the Keep. It would seem that you have some training to complete upon your healing."
"What-"
Before Jason can even get out a question, there is a tear that appears before them of bright Lazarus green, swirling and groaning with an energy that sets Jason's teeth on edge. His heart stutters in his chest, but he is given no chance to fight against before he is brought through by the Fright Knight.
The first thing he notices is how easy it is to breathe here. And he suddenly feels more relaxed than he has since he was a child. Maybe ever.
They’re in the courtyard of a castle. Three huge hairy monsters appear, the one in front wearing a cape and has an arm made of ice and bone. The monster tells them to hurry and they take Danny inside. Jason is set down and he follows after Danny. No one stops him.
Jason ends up in a medical wing of sorts, and it's chaos. Monsters running around, speaking in a language Jason can't make heads or tails of, hooking Danny up to a machine while they seem to be trying to close the incision on his chest.
One of the monsters notices Jason standing there and gently guide him to a nearby cot. Jason thinks he tried to fight against it - everything is fuzzy now, and it sounds like someone placed a fishbowl over his head and left everything sounding muted and buzzing all at once.
He doesn't want to be away from Danny. He CAN'T be away from Danny. He has to keep the kid safe.
"Do not worry," one of the monsters says Jason is guided to lie down. "All is well, little revenant. Your charge is in the best hands. You may rest."
Jason is out cold before he can even begin to form an arguement.
-
When the Justice League arrive to the shell of a facility, lead by Batman, all that they find is shattered glass, warped and shredded metal, a trail of bodies dressed in white suits, and pools upon pools of blood and Lazarus water.
The midnight darkness wrapped around Gotham like a blanket, giving Tim a sheet of cover while he’s perched on the edge of a roof. He lifted his forearm, glancing down at the screen embedded into his suit.
The humidity of the nearby pier laid a thin sheen of moisture over top of him, causing his hair to cling to his forehead. He huffed, looking back towards the building in front of him.
Of course it’s a warehouse by the pier. Why can’t creepy cults ever operate in a well air-conditioned hotel, or a restaurant. Where’s the buffet cult? Why can’t he ever investigate a buffet cult?
His stomach let out a growl.
That explains that train of thought.
He glanced back down at his arm. 1:59. With another sigh, he stood up. He stretched his arm over his head, letting out a breath after a satisfying ‘pop’ echoed around the roof.
He’d caught wind of a new cult operating in Gotham, welcoming people down on their luck to join in on their weekly ‘communal feasts’. Jason had reported a week ago that some of Crime Alley’s homeless population were turning up missing; the older man had wanted to join his investigation — he’s territorial when it comes to Crime Alley — but two nights ago Black Mask had made a move on Hood’s territory, apparently trying to test the waters. So, Tim was on his own tonight.
He technically wasn’t supposed to be here tonight. Jason and the rest of the bats had told him to wait until next week, but they had honestly been grating his nerves lately. Bruce and Dick have been breathing down his neck the last few nights; ‘Tim, start coming to more family brunches’ ‘Tim, stop overworking yourself’ ‘Tim, you need to take a vacation’. As if he wasn’t integral to keeping WE in business and keeping investigations connected and organized. As if he wasn’t needed. As if he wasn’t important. And the rest of the family had just been weird around him lately. It’s like everyone knew something that he didn’t.
So, tonight was for him. It had nothing to do with ‘proving himself’ or ‘being spiteful’. And since it was for him, he took out his comm and called out for the night. If they wanted him to go on vacation, he would. Taking down human trafficking cults was his vacation.
He checked his screen again. 2:01. Show time.
He grabbed his grapple and dropped down without a sound. He shot it outwards, the end hooking onto the edge of the warehouse’s roof.
He pulled it in, a small grin pulling at his lips as the refreshing wind pushed the damp hair out of his face.
With a tucked roll, he landed softly on top of the warehouse. He pocketed his grapple and crouched down, moving quietly towards the roof access door. He had been up here last night to check the lock, it had been an easy pick but opening the door made a loud scrapping sound against the patch of raised ground. He let out a relieved sigh when he saw the brick he had placed still their, letting him quietly open the door and close it behind him.
The stairs went straight down to the floor, the only barrier between him and the cult members being wooden panels along the open side of the staircase.
He stepped down a few steps, glancing out of the gap between the wood to look at the cult’s communal dinner.
The cult had definitely fixed the place up; he’d give them that. The grime and dust on the floor and reachable walls had been scrubbed away, three long tables covered in food sat towards the front door and stretched almost wall to wall. People were chatting idlily, no food had been touched yet. Probably waiting for a leader or something to initiate the dinner. Everyone was dressed in black and green robes except for a handful who wore white and green. His eyes drifted beside the ones in white towards what looked to be a summoning circle with an alter surrounded by flowers, candy, and other items. Yup, cult shit.
He made his way down the rest of the stairs, testing each one for creaks before stepping all the way down.
Towards the last few steps, he heard a repeated ‘clink’ of a glass, signaling everyone to quiet. The chatter quickly slowed to a stop, and Tim peaked between the wood towards one of the white robed figures.
“Hello everyone!” A chipper voice greeted from atop a raised platform, “I don’t see any new faces today, but that’s alright, we’ll get ‘em next time!” The room chuckled lightly; Tim’s eyes narrowed.
“Now, I want to thank you all for coming out, as always. 2 AM dinner isn’t the most ideal, especially for those of use with children, and we always understand when some can’t make it. As always if you need any support, be sure to come to one of our leaders and we’ll find any way we can to support you; be it food, water filters, gas masks, you name it.” The cloaked figure breathed in, putting on a smile.
“Alright, I think I’ve talked long enough,” The room laughed again, “Who’s to say we get on with the summoning and eat?”
Cheers erupted from the tables, a few ‘woo’s thrown out.
Tim set his jaw, reaching behind his back to take out his collapsed staff. The figures in white moved towards the summoning circle. Go time.
“Am I late?” He called, finally moving off the stairs.
Every head in the room turned towards him.
“Ah, got any strawberries left, they’re my favorite.” He teases, making his way towards the front group. The room’s eyes follow him; they definitely outnumber him. Best to try talking first.
“Red Robin,” The figure who had been speaking before smiles warmly, “I’m glad you could make it!”
Tim blinks, pausing in front of the group. “Uh. That— Definitely isn’t the usual response.”
The man chuckles, “I imagine not. I’m not naive enough to think you came for the food, but you’re welcome to it. If you don’t beat us bloody of course,” he jokes. Jokes.
“Thank you? Though that really depends on whether you step away from that circle or not. I’m not sure what you’re trying to summon, but I’ve learned that magic usually means bad news. Especially when what you’re worshipping is called ‘The King’. You’re practically begging for world destruction.”
The man finally frowns, face still soft however, “Ah, yes. We had been wanting destruction and domination originally, but our King showed us the beauty in life and helping others. If you’ll just hear us out, I’m sure you especially would understand. You may even want to join.” Tim glanced behind the man, eyeing the others in white starting the ritual. His face hardens.
“Sorry, I’m not in the market for new hippy cults to join.” His bo extends in his hand as he enters a defensive stance. “I really don’t want to hurt you, man, but I can’t let you summon whatever you’re about to summon.”
The man sighs, looking at him sadly, “Then I apologize profusely for this. We really do look up to you, Red Robin.” He looks up, “Hold him!” The man shouts to the people seated at the table.
“Shit,” Tim hisses, rushing towards the summoning circle in hopes to reach them before the distraction. He smacks the man’s face, throwing him to the floor and giving Tim a path to the other figures in white.
Before he reaches them, his arms are grabbed. He shifts in the hold, throwing the person grabbing him over his shoulder. Just as fast, two more hands replace them. He pivots his feet, swinging his bo behind himself as he turns around.
Every time he fights off one offender, two more replace them, all attempting to hold him down. Eventually a hand pulls his bo staff out of his hands; his fists, however, are just as effective.
A flash erupts from behind him and some of the hands slow down.
Fuck him and this stupid ass plan to raid a cult’s base alone.
In his moment of distraction, the hands finally manage to get hold of him. He’s grappled chest down onto the floor, multiple people pinning him down. It is — unfortunately — very effective.
“Oh— This is, uh— Not what I was expecting to walk in on.” A new voice states, somehow sounding both reversed and normal.
Short prompt and vague stuff. If I had to motivation I'll do some continuation to it but picture this.
DanyalDanny knows he's adopted, always had known especially since he was adopted as the Fenton's were out and about looking for ghosts back when he was merely 6, they found him all battered and bloodied up and immediately took him in as their own, Jazz was very pleased with a new little brother and she became her reason to stay and purpose to protect.
The Fentons aren't the best but they loved Danny, Danny could say the same as he was shocked to see their reactions when he first called them 'Mom' and 'Dad'. They burst into tears and pulled Danny into a love filled bear hug, Danny could say it was the most love he has ever felt.
But Danny, he would never talk about his past, no, no, he claimed amnesia. He felt subtle guilt when he lied about it but now it felt insignificant to worry about, after becoming a Halfa due to the portal accident, he found himself in the middle of simping A-listers and a conspiracy theorist who immediately clocked him upon sight(how did he do that??).
Wes Weston always had the affinity of finding out someone's identity behind a mask, he always voiced out these thoughts knowing no one would believe him but at times it can still get pretty annoying. Danny Fenton caught his eye, he never paid attention to the boy but he kept a secret tab on him, the way he walked felt stuff and subtly regal, the way he talked had a hidden southeast accent(?) that Wes couldn't pinpoint where came from.
Considering the Fact that Danny was adopted... Completely out of nowhere, the Fenton's picked up a boy from somewhere in the world and adopted him without question but Wes doesn't think that's suspicious since the Fentons ARE the Fentons after all.
What kept his tabs, and everything else come to life is when Phantom appeared, Kyle Weston, his brother refused to help and exempted himself from Wes's spiraling Theories piling up.
Wes immediately clocked Phantom as Danny, It's too obvious for Christ's sake, Fenton? PHANTOM? It was so original and unoriginal at the same time, Wes still forced his brother to listen and at some point Wes noticed Dash stopped bullying Danny after having Dash listen through Wes's Theoretical Rant.
Dash and Kyle want nothing to do with Danny, they don't have him, they just suspect Wes is secretly gay and his love language is comparing his crush to the awesome town vigilante ghost.
Everything is as normal as everyday until the GIW found out about Danny's identity, The Fenton Parents and Jazz weren't there when they took Danny away for 'Examination'. So Wes did what any normal person would do, pull out the exact blueprint and hidden passageway of The GIW Facility Base and Bust Danny out of there without getting the already wounded and partially open boy even more injured and in pain.
The Fenton parents did everything they could do to hide Danny as soon as they got home after Wes had contacted them somehow, they love their baby boy so much, He's their Danny, their Daniel, their Phantom.
Wes dragged Kyle into the mess, Not that Kyle had any options and thus. With the help of Jazz who was in Gotham for college, The Fenton Parents stayed behind to keep the GIW in Amity, And Wes along with his Begrudgingly Dragged Along Older Brother Kyle, Is heading to Gotham.
Did Danny anticipate that Wes and Kyle both have truth altering possibly also Reality Warping curse that they bend to their will, but then again sometimes they're too stupid and too human to use these curses to their advantage.
They arrived in Gotham and at first everything was Normal, Danny became the Handyman of their free and he'd fix anything for food and any of the sort. Especially candies for children who wanted their toys fixed, Wes was the weird quiet one who was deemed tough on the outside, soft on the inside because of how oddly kind he still was despite his first impressions.
Kyle was the chill one who was denser than rock in most occasions and jazz was the oldest one who was raising them(along with Kyle) as well as pursuing psychology.
Now here comes more of the DC part :
Wes starts to theorize about the bats, same old same old, Danny listens to them intently as Wes makes pretty good points about the identities(Except Bruce Wayne as Batman, cuz that guys a Total Himbo Billionare.)
Danny and Robin meet by pure coincidence. Danny recognizes him immediately, Damian impulsively taking off his mask and charging at Danny, Both knew they were not Clones of each other and Danny comes home with an unmasked Robin and not any of them feels that this is something out of place.
Going as far as serving Damian a plate of food and Danny introducing the Weston Siblings and Jazz. Jazz immediately mentally adopting Damian because he's her baby brother Twin thus he's just another little chick of hers.
For a while Robin takes time to have dinner on their house, Alfred obviously instantly notices but doesn't mention it Infront of others but merely tells Damian to stay safe and eat well.
The Batfam slowly notice the change of demeanor, Damian slowly getting less aggresive and acting softer and perhaps a tad bit too innocent like for their comfort, they finally follow him to the place he frequents and sneaks off to every night and they see him take off his mask and hug someone who's the exact replica of him, just blue eyes.
They see him drop his guard and become comfortable by their small dining table that fits 5 perfectly. If it weren't for his current costume at the time then he would have looked like a normal civilian boy.
Shenanigans Ensue. You guys can take it from here ✨
Damian is so unguarded because he doesn't have as many expectations on him that the Batfam knowingly or unknowingly have.
This new family of his doesn't get mad when he slips up and attacks one of them because they caught him off guard. They just smile and they play fight with him. Jazz always asks if she can give him a hug which he appreciates and she listens without judgement. She always asks, "do you want advice or just for me to listen"
I would totally add Dani/Ellie to this too and Damian is such a protective older brother to her and Danny because I always see Danny as the younger twin and that's why Damian has such a hard time adjusting to being the youngest in a big family like the Bats. He thought he would be very overprotective over Danny considering he can see how Weston the younger looks at his brother but he isn't. Weston was the reason he was reunited with his twin and accepted into this small but powerful family and he is eternally grateful. So much so that he decided he must help Wesley Weston romance his brother.
Danny, Tucker, Sam, and Jazz as a joke make a video about who certain superheroes are and it goes viral. In a panic they delete the video and tell Wes to say their video is a 100% accurate. Hopefully, they don't have any heroes knocking on their door.
They are finished!!! Here was the progress and preview post -> ✨️😌✨️
And here was the post that inspired the drawing -> I Though We Had More Time
For Ellie I wanted a casual/skater kind of look. She has tons of band tees and has made many of them crop tops that she pairs with tank tops. She has a travel charm bracelet but what you can't see is she also has a chain on her pants that holds more flags of the places she's been. She has vitiligo as you can see and this is basically her "death scar" in a way. It's basically a visual of how close she was to destabilizing as a ghost. But since they all were essentially "reborn" thanks to emotional ghost adoption it showed up as vitiligo.
For Dan, I went more alt! He's not goth but more grunge when he goes all out. He too, loves band tees but his are all rock/metal/punk bands. Of course he has his favorite band, Dumpty Humpty. He has a lot of ear piercings and two lip. He is considering getting his eyebrow done next. He also has his nails painted but his are like always perpetually chipped. This boy wears more eyeliner than anyone in the family.
For Danny, he's more casual fashion but sometimes he will dress up and it will be a little androgynous when he does. We have his classic NASA tee over a blue sparkly hoodie that he got because it reminded him of space! Piercings! He jas many space themed earrings but his favorite kinds are the ones that are mad as a set but not identical. He does have lichtenburg scarring that isn't faded but pretty light unless under intense lighting. He is blind in his left eye but it can still see, it just sees low level ghosts/shades that don't normally have enough power to be seen. But that's it. His little star clip you see is actually the Crown of Wisdom (formerly Crown of Fire) it and the Ring of Power (formerly Ring of Rage) refuse to be parted from Danny so they disguise themselves so he can take them everywhere.
For Jazz, I gave her a more academia kind of look! She still likes dressing in blacks and turquoise but she has started adding pink into her looks as well. She does accessorize more now with chokers and earrings. The chokers have double meaning though as when they were attacked, Maddie shot a new weapons that shot out arrows. Jazz thought she dodged very well but one cut her throat. Not enough to be a danger but enough to scar.
Danny and Dick are dating, their relationship is at the stage where its beginning stages of getting serious. Because Dick's family is so important to him, he wants to introduce Danny to them; And since Dick and Danny live in Bludhaven, they stay at the manor for a week.
But the Wayne's really don't like Danny. He so different from the kinds of people Dick usually goes for, and none of the family really thinks the relationship is going to last. Danny's so ordinary, with seemingly no career goals, not to mention hes weird, completely disregarding his strange family, Danny himself is just weird. The only ones who are open to Danny are Cass and Jason, Cass because Danny is harmless, and Jason because he could care less about the situation. Alfred has his doubts about the relationship lasting, but hes polite and kind regardless.
Danny is super uncomfortable. He can feel that nobody really likes him, but he wants his relationship with Dick to go good so he puts up with it. He deals with the nitpicking, and dirty looks, and judgemental stares, and criticism, and he doesn't say a word about it to Dick because he looks so happy spending time with his family.
But then it goes too far. Damian says something thats just a bit too scathing, and Danny can't stop himself bursting into tears, he excuses himself back to his room, Dick following behind him worriedly, completely confused.
In the room, after Danny has mostly stopped crying he tells Dick he doesn't want to be around his family anymore. He really likes Dick, and hes not breaking up with him or making him choose between Danny and his Family, but Danny refuses to surround himself with people who hate him. He had already gone 7(ish) years in that kind of environment back in Amity Park and he just, he doesn't want to put up with that again. At the end of his explaination, Danny is crying all over again, memories of his Parents hating him as Phantom and his Peers hating him as Danny for the sin of simply existing still fresh in his head.
Dick apologizes profusely, he had no idea they where saying or doing any of those things. He thought maybe Danny would get a shovel or two, and Damian would grump around like a feral cat but, had he known how bad they were being he would have immediately pulled Danny to leave. Its too early to call what he feels for Danny love, but he deeply cares for him all the same and Danny doesn't have to, and shouldn't have deal with that kind of treatment.
Once they're calmed down, Dick and Danny pack, and leave. Its too late to drive back to Bludhaven, so they go to a hotel, and make plans to cuddle up with a movie in the hotel room.
Bruce tries to stop Dick at the door, but Dick just tells him he doesn't want to see the family at the moment. That his family hurt someone Dick was starting to care deeply about for absolutely no reason disgusted Dick and he didn't want to be around them right now. Maybe, he'd reach out in a few weeks, after he cleared his head. With that he shut the door, and continued to the car where Danny was waiting.
Basically: Bat Clan being overprotective and that translating to them being assholes to Danny until he cries and Dick decides to solidify boundaries while comforting his partner
Later on, Dick returns to the manor alone and after a very heated argument, someone says something to the tune of "We were worried he was a gold digger."
Dick laughs bitterly at that. He saw Danny's bank app a while into their dating. Danny is almost as rich as Bruce. His investments and work allow him to just be and live without working (unless he wants to). Dick takes care of rent and Danny does utilities. They split groceries.
He could tell them that, but this was a line that they crossed. He shouldn't have to explain himself or Danny for then to accept him.
"Danny has money. Enough to be comfortable, if we consider Bruce "comfortable"." That got everyone to shut up. Tim got out his tablet and started hacking into Danny's information. He couldn't get anything and actually had his tablet short and die.
"I thought you guys would support me. Sure, he is a civilian, but I thought you'd be okay with it. Instead, you were calling him and saying to him abhorrent things. You're no better than bullies. I'm done with you all."
Dick turns around and leaves the manor. Everyone else is doing horribly after the verbal lashing.
