had a very productive evening. made dinner for tonight and set up tomorrow's ready to put the slow cooker on so i'm not fumbling around with worcestershire at fuck am and also made pastry so i can assemble pie without fuss tomorrow, and also did rice so i have an actual lunch instead of a toastie (which is always a hit in the work kitchen but in my mind is bottom tier haven't done the shopping yet lunch), and painted the patch in the bathroom where the toilet roll holder was poorly affixed and i took off to patch and sand and now finally paint (i need to do it before our friend comes over again otherwise it is simply a hole in the wall that has clearly been there for some time), then i took out all the rubbish even the bathroom bins which tbh should have been done a while ago, and also the recycling, and then i did some yoga (which i need to do more of now that i am mid-30s and would like to still be able to move in 30+ years) and put away the washing in the basket (but not the stuff still on the line i'll do that tomorrow) (and didn't change the filter in the cats' water because the sink is full of dishes which i also did after i did all the dinner and lunch et cetera), and now i am typing this and then i will triple check my bank acc details in the forms for my new job and send them off

and tomorrow i will pick up another baby gate (we are not having a baby) and also go to the fancy foodland to get vegan cream cheese and other assorted items to make vegan + gf carrot cake for work on wednesday. and then i think the things are done except for the washing which is never ending and the filter. oh and the wire for the back of the mirror which i want to do for the same reason as the hole in the bathroom wall.

and through all of this i am thinking about new job and dog. dog!!! dog on friday. new job on tuesday.

I sent the official resignation email today and must externalise my anxiety about the (admittedly small) pay drop and also not having signed anything yet and the guilt about leaving this job which while incredibly boring has also been very good to me, and a general fear that this is the wrong move both for my career but mostly financially

they're always bringing experts or activists on the news to agitate about porn and there's a standard script for this that's like "I think sex education is important, I'm not anti-sex, but so much of this porn is violent and misogynistic if not outright illegal, and it's far too accessible to our children"

I want to see someone finally be brave enough to say that the government should just make its own porn for teenagers that accords with community values, so they don't have to go to these shady places to get it. I think the government porn would probably be pretty bad but I would be so eager to hear about the process of designing it. there would be so many stakeholders and consultations. in canada it would have to be bilingual
