Was curious if both of you self taught how to make outfits for cosplays? If so what resource materials did you use to learn?

tomo: i learned how to sew in middle school through home ec. my skills were still pretty poor after that. practice helps the most. even now i wouldn’t consider myself a great seamstress. as for resources i think just studying patterns on what your particularly hoping to make is the most useful.

hi!! so im going to be cosplayign akaashi at a con soon and i already have everything ordered except the wig. im so scared, i dont know where to find a good one and im not sure how im going to style his bangs. your cosplays of him are really good, so do you have any advice and/or links to where i could find a good wig? (im so sorry if you've already answered this or if its in like an faq somewhere) thank you so much have a good day.

tomo: thank you! so i bought a very cheap black wig (a bit too cheap for what i should have gotten) and styled it to be like akaashi. so even with a thin cheap wig, it’s possible (not that i recommend this). make sure the one you buy is heat resistant.first apply heat to the hair with curling/straightening iron, then use a plastic curler (not velcro kind) with clip to hold the hair in place. repeat for all around, making sure you keep the center parted. then once the hair has cooled and set, remove all the curlers. depending on how long the hair is it will look really crazy with curls. trim them while wearing the wig to a length appropriate to your face shape. apply heat and curl like before if needed.i hope this helps! i wish i had more time to make proper tutorials!

Ah Tomo! If you don't mind me asking, I was curious how you created your attire for the owl demon Akaashi cosplay? o:

tomo: for the top i made a shortened gi. like a gi crop top cus you don’t want it to show up in the leg slits of the hakama. the bottom is pretty much a hakama with thigh holes. then you elasticate the bottom. you want to make sure that the bottom isn’t too wide and baggy though. i had to readjust a couple times to make sure the bottom part didn’t parachute too much. for the tights, i bought leather tights and nude tights and sewed them together, with a suspender in between to function as a fake garter. as for underwear i wear an inner layer that’s pretty much a very high cut thong i fashioned out of boy shorts. i wear a layer on top of the tights too to prevent the tights from slipping down.

tomo: i’d guess i’d say get to know us. send us a private message to our personal accts. there are limitations to depending on what coast you’re on lol. you can only get one of us hahahaaaa...... lastly i’d say i will only go on a “date” if you’re 18 or older cus senpai doesnt want to go to jail.

tomo: i really want to go cause i love seattle but i missed table reg so it’s unlikely i’ll go. :( i cant say for kou but considering she’s even further away, i’d believe it’s also unlikely.
