"bring back 2D animation" mf when an actual 2D animated movie comes out in theaters
...Look, I get it, but '2-D animation' is a medium, not a content or quality qualifier. I love 2-D animation. I don't like the Looney Tunes as an IP. I just don't. I think what people WANT is 2-D animated fairy tales a la Disney/Bluth, but lack the vocabulary to state that.
It's like saying 'bring back musicals' and they bring Repo! The Genetic Opera. It's a good movie, but I kinda doubt that's what people meant when they demanded a return of musicals.
this doesnt change the simple fact that giving monetary support to 2d projects will encourage more to be made. If these companies see 2d fail at the box office, which they want, they wont exactly feel inclined to create more, which will pave the way for cheaper and more exploitative projects. It really doesnt matter if you like looney tunes or not, if you care about 2d animation not dying, you should go see it.
