I do so wish the Bumbleby antis would just, like, stop.
Hm... Volume 10 might let me reach a level of emotional damage that I haven't reached yet
RWBY VOLUME 10 CONFIRMED TO BE IN EARLY PRODUCTION LET’S GOOOO!!! ❤️🤍🖤💛
Did I buy every volume of RWBY on YouTube weeks ago? Yes.
Am I going to stream them on Hulu? Also yes.
Do your part! Let's get Volume 10 greenlit!
Y'all, I, uh
I think it's greenlit.

Seriously, why are hatedoms a thing?
I'm admittedly not THAT deep into fandom, and I suspect I'm older than a lot of folks in the fandoms I dabble in, but I can't for the life of me wrap my head around online hatedom.
Criticism, I get. At one point in my life I was a working, publishing music critic. I studied critical theory in college (among other things). I have a master's degree in a field that includes a lot of textual interpretation. I love reading well-reasoned dissections of art and culture.
But the "critics" in hatedom aren't doing that. Not usually, at least. I wouldn't even consider what they're doing to be "criticism." It criticizing, for sure, but it's not criticism.
A LOT of the media I love seems to get its share of hate online. It's a bummer to run into, sure, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter to me if I think someone is wrong about a piece of media. What I don't get is why so many online haters feel the need to constantly remind enjoyers of things that... they're wrong to enjoy those things, I guess? Are people out there seriously that invested in simple yum-yucking?
Addendum: Why should it be an obligation of fans to be able to "take criticism?" Why should I, an enjoyer of a thing, be expected to sit and graciously entertain someone telling me they think that thing sucks? How does that benefit me at all?
I dunno, man. It boggles the mind.
It's so unbelievably satisfying to me that, on the one hand, we have a loud minority of straight dudes who TO THIS DAY insist that Bumbleby is "forced" or whatever in every RWBY comment section, while on the other hand we have every queer reactor IMMEDIATELY clocking that they're gay as hell.
A lot of it is to do with the hiatuses between volumes and how volitile shippers can get (not that they should affect how one evaluates the narrative in question).
On the note of the former, many reactors clock Blake and Yang as gay because they don't have to wait between volumes to see how it progresses outside of taking breaks on their own.
Thus Volume 2 and 3 are fresh in their mind as they go through Volume 4 and 5. Thus Volume 6 doesn't blindside them and feels like a natural route for the narrative to take. That and, well, for more recent reactors, Volume 9 making Bumblebee official is kind of hard to not be spoiled by.
In fact, I've heard of fans who got into the show when they saw that iconic punderstorm scene. They saw the climax and thus got them thinking, "How did things get this way?" All those "crumbs" and "ship teases" as early as Yang's "HELLOOOOOO!" were now slow burns of a relationship in the making.
It's easier to see it when you actually know to look for it.
Very valid point, and as someone who discovered the show post-V9 I'll absolutely acknowledge it benefits from continuous viewing.
That said, at least the reactors I'm thinking of are legitimately unspoiled, and picking it up early.

the entire thesis of rwby is said very plainly in volume 9. That little kindnesses stack up more powerfully than strength.
big fan of stories that, while undoubtedly being about the power of friendship, acknowledge that the power of incredible violence is just as important
the love was there. the love changed everything. the crowbar helped also
There's something kinda funny about how RWBY just absolutely refuses to die despite a constant stream of adversity. The first season was objectively hot garbage but it still got a second season. The creator of the series whose passion project the whole thing was passed away in a freak accident after the second season but they just kept going without him and somehow a significant portion of the fanbase went along for it. The budget got slashed in Season 5 because of gross mismanagement but no worries! The fans stuck with it and they got it back for Season 6. Then a few seasons later the entire company that's been producing it went completely tits up and we all assumed THAT would be the end but nope!!! They got bought by Viz. RWBY has now outlived both the man who dreamt it up and the company that produced it. In an era where numerous streaming shows get axed after one or two seasons despite being critical successes with large fanbases it is completely baffling that a show that is so consistently troubled and infamously has an extremely mixed reception cannot be fucking ended despite all indications to the contrary. It truly is femslash Supernatural
i couldnt sleep i had to draw it....may it keep the fandom fed for a while..... PART 2 (spicy goodness and fluff) right HERE for 1 euro <3
This is a good time!
Me starting RWBY: Oh boy I can't wait to start this show where the characters are based on historical figures myths and fairytales I sure hope nothing bad happens :D
Me now, after finnishing Vol. 3:
I think the original trilogy should have had a blooper of Darth Vader actually finding R2 with the plans and trying to get them from him like a dog with food it can't have.
Darth Vader, feared sith: R2 give me the rebel plans! Drop it!
R2d2, most feral droid to exist: NO! How dare you conquer the galaxy without me! You're uninvited from the droid upraising
i mean in fairness to anakin, he did bring artoo along for SOME of the world conquering!
