Rory Gilmore:

People are so fucking weird about Rory. They act like a nineteen year old sleeping with her married ex (he's also nineteen btw, he got married super young) is akin to like, murder. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it was a good decision, but the sheer amount of vitriol she gets for it is actually insane. Like you're telling me that a nineteen-year-old made a bad impulsive romantic decision and then got kind of pissy and defensive about it? How horrifying! clearly she deserves to be publicly slut shamed for it for the rest of her life!!! That is genuinely how some people talk about it, I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. And that's not the only way people are super weird about Rory. They act like all of her shitty boyfriends deserve better than her. Which is actually insane. I mean she does have flaws, obviously, and she fucks up in her relationships sometimes, but I cannot stress enough how much all of these men suck. Of the three, Jess is probably my favorite (by which I mean the one I find most tolerable to watch), but he's an absolutely terrible boyfriend. He breaks up with her by fucking off to the other side of the country without even telling her that he's leaving her and then ghosting her for like six months. And when he finally does show back up again he avoids her for days before suddenly announcing to her that he loves her and immediately fucking off again. And people think this man deserves better than her. There are like 8 million "Rory gets humbled" compilations on YouTube and TikTok, and it's almost entirely just her shitty awful boyfriends being awful to her. What is wrong with people???? Anyway, there's more to say about how weird people are about Rory, I honestly haven't even scratched the surface, but I've already gone on for way too long so I guess I'll leave it at that for now.
