“People in this city need somebody they can count on. We got plenty of freaky ass bats running around chasing after the other colorful nutjobs, but who’s lookin’ out for the people on the street? Not all criminals have a themed costume, and not all victims are obvious. There’s enough fear going around in this city; people could use a real protector, someone that can be a… a bastion of hope. I can be that.”

“Y’don’t need t’know shit. Reckon half o’ wot comes out me mouth is gospel? Just gotta have the right vibe. That’s the secret of ev’rythin’, innit?”
“Gospel? Shit, I just assume ninety-nine percent of what you say is pure bullshit already. I can definitely make up the other one.”
“Now yah just ain’t playin’ fair!”
open.
“Fair? Didn’ know we was dealin’ in fairness today.”
conjobbed:
“Oi, fuck off, gettin’ us thinkin’ there was some interestin’ shit goin’ down that didn’t have anythin’ t’do with people in shitty costumes.”
“Sorry we can’t all measure up to pissin’ off demons an’ shit. Can’t believe there’s somebody that don’t think Gotham is flashy enough.”
@oldhecd said: damn straight i’m a hustler.
“Aye, I never doubted that,” John grinned rakishly.“Y’a quick study, then? Cos we’re gonna be bullshittin’ some magic nonsense.”
“You tell me a little of what I gotta know, I’ll have ‘em eatin’ up every word I say.”
bigidiotenergy:
just another bloke that’s gonna wag his stern little finger at him.
always was a CURSE, taking things lighter than they usually were. scourge knew how this went. and scourge had the scars to prove it. those stern fingers were often knives or guns— and no matter how many times he was met at the end of em, they still HURT LIKE HELL.
scourge feels those two shots back-to-back. RIPPING THROUGH THE FLESH as he lands right on his ass at the impact. there are grunts, there are groans, but never a SCREAM from him. even as blood is seeping through his fingers as he shakily applies pressure to his wounds, why, he can imagine this pain feels just like home to him. like he’s that kid on florida’s streets again, barely makin’ it past the night without a new scar.
oldhead. —– oldhead, wait, he DOES know that name. jesus, THIS cunt’s the oldhead himself? why’s god gotta wiggle his dusty, glowing middle finger at him sometimes? hands SQUEEZE onto the gunshots in his leg as the oldhead comes up to him and presses that bloody weapon against him. what a SHOWOFF. scourge is breathing heavily, still clearly in pain— BUT WHAT’S THIS, EH? is that a goddamn smile across his face? clearly, a thing or two is loose in his noggin.
“that RIGHT?” a very pitiful excuse for a laugh. “now, i say yer gonna remove that gun from me torso or y’can kiss yer fuckin’ 5 gs GOODBYE, yeah? i die, you don’ quite get tha’ money.” hell, scourge’s free hand even goes to the barrel of the gun to try and remove it FOR HIM. “an’ wouldn’ that be a grand ole shame, killin’ some bloke who got th’ best of ye before y’could even get yer cash back?”
With every second that passes, the bleeding idiot’s smarminess continues to grate on Sully, and it becomes increasingly clear that he’s dealing with someone who doesn’t fully comprehend the situation they find themselves in. He can see it in the other’s eyes as they light up that this fool think they’re somehow winning this exchange, and Sully feels a deep compulsion to disabuse them of this notion. The opportunity comes when he sees the hand reaching for his gun, and he pulls out a second one, popping the man in the shoulder.
“You right: if I kill you, I don’t get my money. But you not givin’ this situation adequate consideration. For instance: That fact only protects you if you’re cooperative and do, in fact, get me my money. There’s also the fact that, should you continue to run yo fuckin’ mouth, I will show you just how much you can live through. I got time for this, and I can make sure you don’t bleed out or pass out before I get what I want. So; you gon’ give me what’s mine, or am I gon’ have to air yo ass out? ‘Cause right now I want my money more than I wanna permanently shut you up, but those scales could tip the other way real quick.”
bigidiotenergy:
say, how many people have THREATENED HIM, huh? more than he can count on all 19 of his fingers and toes? this ain’t any different from all the other times. NOT REALLY. just another guy that’s gonna wag his stern little finger at him. scourge certainly isn’t bothered.
“ohhh. YER money? lookkit me, shakin’ in me fuckin’ BOOTS here.” if scourge was anything, it was definitely that he was far too cocky for his own good. but if his cockiness has gotten him this far— he can’t really say it’s a BAD THING. though, interestingly enough, he has no idea who this bloke is. he’s not exactly the first person whose money he’s fucked around with. certainly shan’t be the last, either. “doesn’t take a genius t’see i ain’t from ‘ere, mate. born ‘n’ raised in good ole london. states jus’ 'ave more gullible fucks.”
Sully’s face remains impassive as he let the clueless idiot play the ‘too cool to give a shit’ act. When Scourge stops speaking, he nods for a moment before whipping out the pistol holstered beneath his jacket and firing two shots into the other man’s thigh. One of the youngbloods that brought Scourge in laughs with satisfaction. “You should keep your mouth shut. You already done pissed off the Oldhead, you don’t wanna make this worse.”
Sully stood and close the gap between he and the man who owed him money, then knelt down to press the gun up to the other’s abdomen. “Listen and listen close, Bert, the guy you decided to con outta 5 gs? He was kickin’ up to me, and I don’t take kindly to having shit stolen from me. So if you don’t want the next round to hit something vital, you gone get me my money right quick.”
“ALRIGHT- ALRIGHT- get yer bloody hands off me!” —– being dragged inside by two henchmen. scourge wasn’t TOO collaborative, given they picked him off the street and brought him here. the two push him inside the room before they make their leave. he rolls his shoulders to fix his jacket before his eyes go to land on sully. … ah. so THIS is how it’s gonna be.
he takes a few steps forward with arms outstretched. a pathetic excuse for a ‘bow’, if you well. “BONJOUR.” he’d greet through a sly smile. all before resting his arms as his side. “so yer th’ cheeky cunt tha’ wanted t’see me so bad.”
@oldhecd
Sully is seated when they finally bring the asshole in, and he doesn’t bother to get up once he’s face to face with the out-of-towner who’s been all the wrong kind of waves. He studies the other man’s attire and demeanor, and immediately decides this man is way too cocky in the moment to have an adequate understanding of where he is. “So you the one been fuckin’ wit’ my money. You for damn sure ain’t from around here if you thought you could get away with that shit.”
conjobbed:
“See, these are the things y’need t’actually tell us. Wot do y’mean by ‘piece o’ it’? Wot’re we talkin’ like curses or hauntin’s or jus’ a touch o’ bog standard PTSD.”
“Yea, it’s like a hauntin’ alright. I mean yo stupid ass, comin’ round here bringin’ yo spooky shit wit’ you.”
You want a quote? I’ll give you one.
People aren’t important. Not as a whole. Everyone runs around like they’ve got a BIG S on their chest for “special,” but the actual gift of genius, of work ethic, of aspiration, is rarer than a white tiger. That’s why you see people throughout history rising above the masses. Those are the changers. Those are the doers. You are not important.
YOU’RE NOT. I AM.
CHARACTER STUDY: MONTGOMERY “SULLY” SULLIVAN
— basics.
▸ is your muse tall/short/average?
Sully is 6′3″ so he a bit of a tall boi
▸ are they okay with their height?
He’s very comfortable with his height. He likes being tall which both adds to the intimidation factor when he needs it to and makes him generally more desirable, which he’s a fan of.
▸ what’s their hair like?
His hair is usually kept pretty short with neat waves throughout, very rarely letting it get too long or unkempt.
▸ do they spend a lot of time on their hair/grooming?
Sully is very meticulous about all aspects of his appearance, so his hair is no exception. He’s got loads of products to keep it well taken care of and takes his time each day making sure it looks just right.
▸ does your muse care about their appearance/what others think?
As mentioned above, Sully is big on appearances. He always wants to be the best looking, best dressed, most well put together person in any room he’s in. Whether that’s hanging out in The Bowery, schmoozing it up in the Diamond District, or on the job in his Triggerman uniform, great care is taken with his looks. He has an extensive skincare routine he never breaks from, he regularly gets manicures and pedicures to keep his nails done, he works out regularly to stay in shape and maintain his desired physique, he even has a specific regimen for trimming his body hair.
In terms of clothing, in his every day Sully tends to wear clothing that’s needlessly, prohibitively expensive and flashy, just to show that he can afford luxury without breaking a sweat. Custom tailored suits by famous designers, high end jewelry and watches that could pay off someone’s mortgage, shoes made from exotic animal hides, the works. At any given time, Sully wants you to know, if nothing else, two major things about him: He’s pretty and he has money.
— preferences.
▸ indoors or outdoors? indoors ▸ rain or sunshine? rain ▸ forest or beach? beach ▸ precious metals or gems? gems ▸ flowers or perfumes? perfumes ▸ personality or appearance? personality ▸ being alone or being in a crowd? being in a crowd ▸ order or anarchy? order ▸ painful truths or white lies? painful truths ▸ science or magic? science ▸ peace or conflict? conflict ▸ night or day? night ▸ dusk or dawn? dusk ▸ warmth or cold? warmth ▸ many acquaintances or a few close friends? a few close friends ▸ reading or playing a game? reading
— questionnaire.
▸ what are some of your muse’s bad habits?
His horrendous overspending, he can underestimate opponents, he’s hella vain, he’s way too comfy with murder, and a whole host of various other vices/faults. Sully can be charming, and he’s not without his sense of humanity, but at the end of the day he’s considered one of the Rogues for a reason.
▸ has your muse lost anyone close to them? how has it affected them?
Sully’s parents are both dead. His father died when he was a boy, and it hit him pretty hard as he looked up to his father. It also taught him early on about the risk involved in a life of crime, and while it did not deter him from it it showed him that he needed to make his choices wisely.
▸ what are some fond memories your muse has?
He’s got plenty of childhood memories or cherished moments with close friends that would fit the bill here, but some of the memories that he is most fond of and looks back on most often are ones of particularly challenging jobs he’s taken over the years. Kills that required some unique strategies to pull off, fights that were a rewarding challenge (like some of his tussles with a certain caped crusader), things like that. Sully is very aware of the fantastical life he’s lead, and it’s something he’s very pleased with. His older years don’t have nearly as much excitement to them, so he tends to look back on more eventful days in quiet moments.
▸ is it easy for your muse to kill?
Sully has no qualms about killing. It’s the job, and he does it very well. Killing isn’t his go to option in his everyday life, but when things get to that point he doesn’t bat an eyelash or feel any remorse. When they’re not happening to someone he cares about, death and pain are things he’s become rather numb to.
▸ what’s it like when your muse breaks down?
Sully isn’t really prone to breaking down. Aside from having some formidable mental fortitude, things generally don’t stress Sully out much. He’s built a life of security, luxury, and ease, and with little capable of threatening it stability he doesn’t often get upset.
If he were to break down, however, his response would likely be to recede into himself. Depending on what’s caused the problem, this could take one of two forms:
1- he stays in his Triggerman uniform and seeks out trouble to let loose his emotional turmoil out on others with violence
2- total isolation from everything. locks himself in his house and doesn’t come out until he’s essentially shut down and rebooted from whatever messed him up. In either case, wouldn’t reach out to anyone and would try to avoid direct confrontation with whatever the problem may be until such time he’s decided he’s ready to deal.
▸ is your muse capable of trusting someone with their life?
The only person Sully really trusts implicitly, in general, is Zeke. The rest of his circle are people he has varying degrees of loyalty to, and he typically doesn’t expect any of them to betray him, but Zeke is the one person he can truly be said to trust. The biggest expressions of trusting Zeke with his life are the fact that Zeke is the CEO of his company and the builder of his suits. If Zeke wanted to, he could ruin and/or end Sully’s life on a whim, but even the mere notion of him doing such a thing doesn’t so much as cross Sully’s mind.
▸ what’s your muse like when they’re in love?
It’s only ever happened the once, and for a brief time he made him truly believe in the future as a certainty; a dangerous thing for one in his chosen line of work. He believed in building a life with someone, he dreamed of being more than he chose to be. It didn’t last long, and losing that dream hardened him to love. If someone were to manage it now, they’d likely get him to be vulnerable in ways he hasn’t allowed himself to be in years. They’d get showered in gifts, and much of his attention would be pulled away from his work. It’s harder to go out and risk your life when someone is waiting for you to make it home.
All that said, it’s an uphill battle to get Sully to fall in love at this point.

Sully’s Squad
These are the people in Sully’s innermost circle and are immutable across all his various verses unless explicitly stated. All but Sophia are NPCs, though open to being played by others if anyone is interested in doing so.
Full Name: Theodore “Teddy” Sullivan
Relationship: Older Brother
Thick as the thieves they’d grow up to be ever since childhood, the two have an unshakeable bond. He and Teddy were both introduced to the world of crime from a young age, and while Sully remained a direct part of it, Teddy shifted the focus of his hustle to working from within the opposition; he got a job in the GCPD in the pocket of the Falcones. He’s also not above giving his baby brother a tip here and there.
@shesgotliesfordays
Full Name:Sophia “Sophie” Sullivan nee Solano
Relationship: Wife (Seperated)
Sully has stolen more than a few women’s hearts in his day, but the first one that’s ever managed to get her mitts on his is Sophia Solano. He caught her trying to pull a fast one on Teddy, and while Sully was impressed by her level of game, he couldn’t sit back and do nothing. Despite interfering with her mark, it turned out the fascination was mutual. They tumbled headfirst into a reckless romance and married far too quickly than either was really prepared for. It didn’t take long for things to fall apart (Sully’s career wasn’t conducive to married life and settling down never fit Sophie right), but the love between the two never faded. Even though Sophie travels all over, the two still meet up every now and again. No other woman has ever touched him in quite the same way, even all these years later. They’re exactly right and exactly wrong for each other in all the best and worst ways. Even though they just can’t seem to make it work, she always finds her way back to Gotham right around Sully’s birthday and for just those 24 hours they act like it’s old times all over again.
Full Name: Nathaniel Banks
Relationship: Biological Son
A few months after one of Sophie’s birthday visits, Sully got the call that she was having a kid. They both knew neither of them was quite fit to be a parent, and it was decided that they’d give their little boy up. Being placed with the Banks family in Metropolis, Nathaniel has grown up ignorant of his birth parents’ identities, and Sully has made sure it stays that way. Despite checking in on the boy now and again, Sully feels that keeping his son as far away from his life as possible is the best thing that can be done for him.
Full Name: Ezekiel “Geeky Zeke” Blackburn
Relationship: Childhood Best Friend/Personal Tech Guy/CEO of Sullivan Incorporated.
Sully’s best friend and confidant. Sully and Zeke grew up together, and while Zeke never involved himself in the crime-focused life Sully indulged in, he never knocked his friend’s hustle. From a young age, Zeke showed an aptitude for tinkering, and as they got older and Sully gained more and more resources he supported his friend’s desire to hone his craft. When Sully decided to take up the mantle of The Triggerman, he enlisted Zeke’s help in making sure he was prepared. Zeke has never had any interest in putting his skills to use for any of the other various rogues of the city, so Sully’s gear has always been top notch and unique to him. In exchange, Sully has always made sure his day one is well compensated.
Full Name: Xavier “Mr. X” Dalton
Relationship: Friend/Attorney/Fixer
As he made designs on taking both his criminal and legitimate pursuits to greater heights, Sully recognized that he was going to need someone to watch his back and help him navigate the legality or lack thereof of his actions. He discovered Xavier Dalton as a young but stellar lawyer, known for having a spotless record no matter the client or severity of the crime(s). Sully was quick to snatch him up and Mr. X, as he came to be called, has been watching Sully’s back ever since.
Full Name: Marcus “1 Cent” Booth
Relationship: Friend/Colleague
Sully and Marcus met when both were doing work for Two-Face. The two simply hit it off an got to chilling even after Sully’s job for Dent was up. He’s one of the few in Sully’s inner circle that knows just how wild it is to work for the crazies Gotham has to offer. Sully took to calling him “1 Cent” as a nod to their mutual former employer and the fact that Marcus was just a small part of the whole.
Full Name: Tremaine “Payday/Trey” Patterson
Relationship: Friend/Mentee
While hanging around some of his seedier contacts, Sully caught wind of a couple of up and comers that pulled off some pretty big scores practically out of nowhere. He followed their budding career for a bit before, to his surprise, they tracked him down. They’d heard about his reputation and wanted to check him out for themselves. He ultimately took the two of them under his wing and helped find a balance between the money they were making and managing the attention they were getting before it got out of hand. Payday earned his name for his focus on consistently making more money, though his greed was tempered through his time with Sully.
Full Name: Michael “Ponyboy” Curtis
Relationship: Friend/Mentee
Ponyboy and Payday have been attached at the hip practically from birth. Their parents were all friends, so the two naturally grew up together. Whether it was getting in trouble or getting paid, the two have always done it together. He’s the more friendly and calm of the two of them, but is no less capable or dedicated when it comes to pulling jobs. He has always heeded Sully’s guidance most closely.
Full Name: Luther Pearce “Terminator” Sammuels
Relationship: Bodyguard/Head of Security at Sullivan Incorporated
Luther is a consummate professional, and one of the few in the inner circle who isn’t in any way involved in Sully’s less than legal activities. He’s aware of them, but focuses solely on his job of keeping Sully alive when he’s showing his face in public and that things are running smooth at the company. Nicknamed “Terminator” for his icy disposition and unwavering dedication to his objectives, Luther has more than shown himself to be money well spent.
Full Name: Lauryn “Clemency” Jacobs
Relationship: Driver/Informant
Lauryn started as one of Sully’s youngbloods; learning from him and honing her skills as she navigated the Gotham underworld. The two grew quite close during her tutelage, and though she has long since ‘graduated’, she chose to remain by Sully’ side. Publicly, she is his driver when he needs to go to whatever big public events, but her primary job is as his top informant. Even while out of the game, Sully prefers to keep close tabs on what’s going on, and Lauryn is the person he trusts most to keep him up to date. She also keeps eyes and ears out for any potential jobs that need doing, in case Sully decides to stretch his legs again.
