BIOGRAPHY
If there was one thing Oliver Harwood was sure of in his life, it was that he was going to be a star. From a young age, the boy was in love with performing and putting on skits and took dance lessons. With his love of acting, his mother let him audition for the community theater growing up and when he was in school, he started auditioning and being part of every school production there was. And while he had this in his life, it distracted him from the arguing that was going on at home.Â
His parents were always fighting. They fought about money as they werenât exactly making a lot and his father didnât want him doing the acting classes. Hell, he didnât even support him doing that. He felt he should be playing sports or focusing on his studies. He never went to any of Oliverâs productions and that increased the fighting until one day, their parents sat him down and told them they were getting a divorce. His mother got custody of him and they moved in with his grandfather in Bridgeport and he started a new school.
Honestly, Oliver loved it better in Bridgeport. He loved the sea and he loved his new dance school and community theater there and the productions being put on at school. He soon became close friends with Liv Rhodes and finding out who her mom was, he was truly just in awe. He continued acting all through high school and after graduation, Oliver ended up following Liv to New York and he went to school for acting.
Eventually, he started doing auditions for Broadway and he and Liv ended up playing Skye and Sophie in Mamma Mia! together. After she went towards dancing, Oliver still did Broadway and starred in several productions, even alongside Livâs brother Patrick. Everything was going great and he was completely happy. He even started getting a bit of a following and he knew in his heart his dream was coming true. And as he got more famous in a way, he started seeing an incredible man he was truly falling for.
Things took a turn during a performance of Waitress. After opening night, he was spending time with the man he was seeing when the director of the plan came in. Apparently the man he was seeing was his boyfriend and this left Oliver getting beaten up. He was admitted into the hospital and after the threats from the director saying heâd ruin his career, Oliver was forced to quit the show and was told heâd never work in Broadway again. So, he packed his things and moved back home.
After getting settled, he debated what he wanted to do since being an actor and wanting to be a star was all he knew. He discussed things with his mom and so, he started teaching drama at the college in town. It wasnât exactly what he wanted to be doing, but it was something and thatâs all he could hope for given the circumstances.
