a three-day weekend during which i unexpectedly spent a lot more time than usual with my loved ones (and it was awesome). didn’t think about my wip once, but worked a little on my home office by bringing a pile of books to multiple little free libraries.
started reading The Courting of Bristol Keats. only read 130 pages instead of the minimum of 150 pages that i aimed for, but i’m really hooked on the story. took the book with me to an appointment and read in the waiting room, which was fun and reminded me of my childhood <3
you think that you're so alone in the world then you read literature from hundreds of years ago and you realize that other people have always felt this way
it’s the fact that work is an every day thing that doesn’t sit right with me. like surely not

today wasn’t my most productive day. continued working on the summary for book 3 during my lunch break and changed a few plot points that i realized would be redundant. didn’t have time to finish the summary during my break, then had chores to do after work.
i’ve decided to add a “read at least 50 pages of my current read per day” goal because focusing only on writing my wip has me neglecting my tbr and i miss reading lol

summer of indulgences. takeout for dinner two nights in a row. glass after glass of cold peach juice. scratching mosquito bites for the sensuous pleasure of it. climbing past the point of my fingers giving out. taking the long way home. gently pressing the bruises on my heart just to feel the twinge

another busy day. got about halfway through the summary for book 3 during my lunch break. had a bit of a hard time figuring out which timeline would work best for the story, but finally settled on one. changed one major character-related element from book 2 and moved it to book 3 instead. very excited about the direction that this project is taking.
didn’t have time to finish the book 3 summary after work which is a bummer. very much looking forward to the weekend so i can rest and focus on my wip!
Summer so far: comps reading, ballet, and long hours in local coffee shops. As much work as it is, I am greatly appreciating the flexibility and individual pace of exam prep. Especially when the view beyond the window is bursting with lush, vibrant summer leaves.
I am 17/100 texts into my summer of comprehensive exam prep! I have been walking to town, through the cemetery, almost every day to sip beautiful beverages as I read.
Also: this weekend my ballet summer intensive begins, which I am so incredibly excited about.
Even though my summer is quite regimented, to prepare for fall semester, I am still embracing the whimsy whenever possible . ݁₊

busy day at work. only had time to revise the summary that i wrote for book 2 the day before. realized that, despite being something that i wrote in 20 minutes, it’s pretty representative of what i had in mind and is detailed enough for now. i’ll add more details (such as exact locations and character actions in scenes) when i write the chapter outline.
now onto the summary for book 3.
