simple witchy things for the secret witch
sorry, I’ve been out for a bit but I'm back, baby! As a witch practicing in secret I figured I’d post some of the stuff I do to help myself feel magical.
💚 Music
listen to music with heavy bass, you can feel the vibrations and it can help you recognize your own energies (kind of the same sensation as rubbing your hands together)
making your own music is good too! practice playing an instrument or singing, maybe ring some windchimes.
💚 Baking
Baking is very similar to magic and is associated with a lot of festivals (i.e. Litha, Ostara, Yule, Mabon) if you don’t have an oven I have another post with plenty of microwave bakes :)
💚 Meditate
meditation and yoga is good for the mind, body and the spirit, it’s a good rest to either think over one specific thing or nothing at all
💚 Just fuckin look at the moon
the Moon is really pretty, tell her so no matter what phase she’s in
💚 Pick up litter
get some friends and go to a park or around your town to pick up trash on the ground, take care of the earth
💚 Study and use dream magic
absolutely no one on the mortal plane can get in your dreams, log them and study their meanings, learning to lucid dream is good too
that's all I can think of right now, I may add to this later. Have a good time with your craft, babes!💚
Hello, friends!
I'm sorry I’ve been extremely inactive lately, I’ve been feeling uninspired to do magic. Without inspiration, results will not come. If you have any tips on this please please please tell me :)
thanks!

Saving the h*cking environment part 2!!
I couldn’t fit as many ways as I wanted to in the first part without boring people so here we go again:
💛 Plant your plants in old yoghurt containers
this is good for if you’d like to plant a garden but you’ve not got a lot of space, you can also keep your compost in yoghurt containers. Plus planting things puts the bees closer to not being endangered anymore!
💛 Reuse bottles from condiments
there are millions of recipes for homemade ranch, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, you name it and most of the time they’re better than storebought. you can store homemade versions in original bottles to avoid confusion but you can also use mason jars and stuff like that.
💛 Keep. Your. Pop. Tabs.
you can either give them to local recycling places--most of the time they’ll pay you for them--or you can turn them into art stuff. There are countless things you can do with them, here are a few:
-chainmail (yes chainmail) you can make bags and shit out of it
-jewelery
-pins (I glue them to look like flowers)
💛 Don't use disposable cups for paint water
when you paint, use a regular washable cup or mason jar to hold your water instead. Also, do this with glue and any other substances you might use a styrofoam or solo cup for (trust me almost everything will wash out)
That’s it! read the first post about this if you haven't already and have an awesome day, babes! 🌏
hey, mates its time for some ways you can help the environment!!
The environment isn’t doing so great and for some reason, the billionaires that completely have enough money to help fix it aren't doing anything so here’s how you can help a little bit :) I personally make art and useable items out of not easily recyclable items here's how
💛 make yarn out of plastic bags
here’s a helpful video on how to do this
you can then make stuff like backpacks and baskets and shit.
💛 make pins out of bottle caps
you can paint plastic ones from standard water bottles or just use the facing already on metal ones from soda bottles. I have like a million of them they’re super cute and you can give them as gifts
-superglue cardboard into the bottlecap for lift so the pinback isn’t all the way inside
-hot glue pinback on the cardboard (use as much hot glue as you think you’ll need so the pinback doesn't fall off
that's it super simple
💛 keep soup cans to store stuff in
just make sure you wash them out all the way first I’ve got a wasabi pea can that I keep my hair straightener and combs in.
💛 make origami from old homework assignments
I make paper cranes every year at the end of the school year and hang them on the ceiling in my room because there's a legend that if you make a thousand paper cranes you get a wish :) they look really cool
💛 donate old clothes to thrift stores and charities
clothing makes up a lot of the waste we make so donating can cut back on a lot PLUS a lot of people need the clothes they can get from charities PLUS you’re helping feed important organizations
💛 use metal straws
you can get 8 for like 5 bucks at Wal-Mart, they come with a little thing to clean them with. they’re just great, you should get yourself some.
I think that’s all I can fit in one post without boring people, I’ll make a second part some other time. Thanks, lovelies, have a nice day! 🌏
I have a (kind of) important announcement!
I recently learned to read playing cards like Tarot! (will make an in-depth, very long post about it later I promise) if you’d like me to do you a reading put it in my asks if you’re an experienced card reader please critique me on my work!
School magic ideas
School is hard, let’s make it easier and a bit more fun! I’ve compiled some simple ways to incorporate magic into school to make it breezy.
💛 Glamour your backpack for confidence
💛 Make pins and enchant them with different purposes, pin whatever you feel like you need that day on a jacket or bag (i.e. luck, self-love, focus etc.)
💛 Charm pencils, pens and lunchboxes to keep from losing them
💛 Write good luck and focus sigils on homework and tests (is this cheating? idc)
💛 Charm shoes to keep from tripping in hallways
💛 Glamours to help ~*you know who*~ notice you
That's all I can think of off the top of my head I’ll probably add later. Add on to the post of you know any cool stuff and let me know if you’d like me to post how I do any of these things. :)
I made a cake today! 1) because it’s spring and I figured I would and 2) because I’m happy! I’ve felt great all day and cake makes me feel even better, it’s vanilla with matcha frosting and I’m very proud of it, have a nice day, lovelies!
A Deep Room Cleanse
The state of my room is extremely important to me. It’s a direct reflection of my mental health, so when it’s messy, my energy levels are low and I just feel yucky. There’s no way I’m getting any kind of work done, magical or mundane. When it feels good and clean to be in, it’s a lot easier to deal with my symptoms and be productive. You don’t have to do every step every time of course, but each step has helped me so I figured a list like this might help someone.
Change the lighting. Use natural sources of light (like pulling back the curtains and letting the sun in) over artificial ones. If you have salt lamps to turn on, those are still very nice. If you need artificial light to keep it from being too dark, try to prioritize light bulbs you like the color of, and ones that don’t whistle quietly when they’re on.
Change the airflow. Open a window, if you can. Often our rooms feel yucky because the air is stale. Get some fresh air moving. If it’s too cold, it’s okay to only keep it open for a few minutes or put on a coat while you work because you’re stubborn like me.
Change the sound. Put on your favorite cleansing music. Let it soak into the room. I tend to go or ambient spa stuff, or playlists that sound built for a rainy day. (Note: the music that helps you cleanse the best may not be the same as what you like the most. The playlist should keep you focused/uplifted while you work and reflect the vibes you want your room to have.)
Change the smell. Take out the trash, maybe refresh the sheets on your bed. Light a scented candle, some incense, heat up some oil, something to make your room smell distinctly different from the mucky-feeling room from before. (If your method of choice is something short like a room spray, I actually like doing it at the very end.)
Actually clean and organize. Nothing junks up the energy of a room more quicker than actual junk. Organize everything as much as you can (this might mean finally gutting your closet, even if you can close the door and hide it.) Wipe down any surfaces that need it, get everything fresh and functional again. Do some laundry while you work. If you have clothes or trinkets that are just collecting dust, extra points for purging them!
Cleanse any sacred spaces by themselves. A lot of us have altars or shrines in our rooms. A sacred space can also be just an extra important area of your room, like a reading nook. Make sure to give them extra attention! You don’t need to wipe the board energetically (and probably shouldn’t), but taking a little extra time to clean surfaces, straighten up, and make sure everything feels okay on them goes a long way.
Cleanse in your regular way. Bust out the herb bundles, the bells, the ribbons, the broom, whatever you usually do to cleanse a space! The room is SUPER primed for it now, most of the negative energy probably already feels removed if not broken down. A good once-over with your favorite cleansing method should finish it off nicely.
Refresh any wards or protections. Self explanatory. If you maintain energy borders in your room, now is a good time to check in on them and zhoosh them if needed. Keep the space clean for longer!
Practice self-care. Take a shower, a nap, eat some food, whatever you need. You’ve put in a lot of work and you deserve it.

Microwave baked good recipes for those without ovens
Baking is sometimes important in festivals like Yule, Ostara, and Harvest and I know a lot of people either don’t have ovens or don’t have time to bake and baking isn’t the most discreet of practices so I’ve compiled some easy microwave bakes that are actually pretty good.
💛 Baked apples in a mug
-2 chopped apples(or enough to fit in a mug)
-1/2 tbs of butter
-1 tbs of brown or white sugar (but brown tastes nicer I think)
-sprinkle of cinnamon to your liking
microwave for around 45 seconds or until the apples are mushy
💛 Cake!
-2 tbs melted butter
-1/4 cup flour
-1 egg yolk
-2 tbs sugar
-1 tbs milk
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1/4 tsp baking powder
combine all in a mug (don’t fill more than halfway) and microwave for 45-60 seconds or until the cake pulls away from the sides of the mug then top with whatever you like (putting honey on when it’s still hot and letting it soak into the cake is really good) you can also add in practically any herbs you like before you cook it too!
💛 Vegan cinnamon cake
-1/4 cup flour
-2 tsp baking powder
-2 tbs brown sugar
-3/4 tsp cinnamon
-1/4 cup dairy free milk
-2 tbs melted vegan margarine
-1 tsp vanilla extract
combine all in a large mug (don’t fill more than halfway), sprinkle a little extra brown sugar and cinnamon on top, microwave for 1 1/2 minutes
💛 Fruit cobbler (this one's complicated buckle up, bros)
This works with practically any fruit like strawberries, cranberries, blackberries etc.
-1/8 cup flour
-pinch salt
-1/8 tsp baking powder
-1/2 heaping tablespoon sugar
-1 tbs cold butter
-1 tbs milk
-8 blackberries
-1/2 tsp sugar
microwave just the blackberries and 1/2 tsp of sugar in a large mug for 10-15 secs and set 'em aside, combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, add the butter and mix with your hands until crumbly add the milk and stir until dough forms, spoon over the blackberries and microwave for 1 minute check it and if it doesn't look done microwave again for 20 secs.
This post is super long already I think I'll stop here but I may add more later. feel free to add some yourself if you know any, have a nice day and a good equinox tomorrow!
I need more ways of learning magic
I’ve said this before on this account but I’m 15, I’m in high school, I've been studying magic for about two years and I'm learning more every day but my parents are very religious and if they knew of my practices I would likely be murdered on the spot. That being said, I cannot buy books on magic for fear of them finding out. the majority of my knowledge has been coming from the internet, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, loads of blogs, you name it but I know that the internet isn’t always the most reliable source and I was wondering if anyone knew any other ways of learning. this would be a big help thanks!
What I’m doing for Ostara (and also some stuff for teen witches i guess)
I’m in high school and live with my parents so I can’t do a lot of big stuff like baking loads of bread and go shopping for crystals so here are some things I recommend that can be done discretely if you’re in the broom closet like me
💛 Deep cleansing
- I’ll be cleansing my entire room, going through my wardrobe, books, art supplies, general junk you name it. I go through stuff and get rid of things that don’t make me happy anymore or I just don’t use, then cleanse the whole room.
- Cleanse yourself, take a shower or bath, do a mind cleansing spell, maybe do a face mask, whatever makes you personally feel clean.
- Cleanse your phone, I feel like people forget about doing this but we use them every day so it’s important to keep them cleansed as well, there are tons of ways to do so here on Tumblr and out in other places.
💛 Make herbal tea and meditate
- I personally recommend chamomile, mint, sage, or fruity teas like lemon or raspberry 1)because they’re tasty and good for you and 2)because they help with grounding, healing, and getting rid of negativity.
- Meditate on how you want to grow as a person and spiritually “wake up” like the earth, visualize what you want to work on and learn this spring and how you want to work on yourself.
💛 Bake if you can
- Make muffins packed with lemon and cranberry, I have a recipe I like for apple and cheese muffins or make fun cookies and say you just want to try the recipe out. There are tons of recipes online for baked goods meant for celebrations that are fairly easy and fun to make.
💛 Wear pastel colours
- This is fairly simple, super easy. you totally don’t have to wear pastel colours to celebrate Ostara but it does help make you feel more connected to spring.
💛 Read/hang out outside
- If your school has an outside place to eat lunch, eat outside with your friends if it doesn’t, read a book or do your homework outside, lay out a blanket or sit in a lawn chair, if you don't have a lawn or its cold or rainy, open and sit by a window, breath the fresh air.
💛 Study
-learn something new! write a spell! do that thing you’ve been putting off (also remember the spring equinox is on a full moon this year!)
💛 Take care of your plants/pets
- If you’ve got plants in your house, be nice to them, talk to them a bit, tell them how pretty they are. If you’ve got animals, love on them, tell them how much you appreciate them, give them a treat.
Most of all have a good time, be safe, and appreciate the earth. Thanks for reading, have a nice day, witches!
Non-wiccan, low-energy ways to connect to nature, and feel stronger in your craft.
+ Take a walk in a forest. Find somewhere to sit, close your eyes and feel the life thrumming through all the living things around you. You are not the only living thing in the forest. Find the biggest tree you can and politely sit on one of its roots.
+ Walk on the beach. Barefoot, preferably. Feel the sand between your toes and the water rushing over your feet. Breathe in the scents of salt and sea and wood. Close your eyes and feel the power of the sea, the gentleness of the sun.
+ Hike up a mountain. Sit on a solid piece of stone and reflect on its age and all the people it has seen, and all the people it will see after you are gone. Do not feel insignificant. Even though you are one of many, if any stone in the center of the mountain fell, the whole structure would be less stable.
+ Go to the seaside at night. Look up at the moon and feel its power over the tides and sea, feel it tame the wild waters that no human can control. Try to capture that powerful feeling inside you.
+ Sit on a riverside. Listen to the water rushing by. Think of all the places it has been and will be, how it has been along long before you, and will exist long after. Dip your feet in the water and feel the current rush around your toes. Imagine your negative thoughts and energy drifting away with the gurgling water.
+ Relax by a pond or lake. Look at the sun and sky and clouds reflected in its surface and imagine it a well of magickal energy. Draw from it, and bask in the scene’s serenity.
+ Stand by your houseplants, channel your magick and funnel it along the connection between you and your plants. Feel their life force and feed it. You are a witch, and even if you feel different sometimes, nothing can change that if you don’t want it to.

Things to do to celebrate Ostara
Okay. I know, I know. Ostara is like… What’s that? 18 days away? Well maybe some people are still basking in the glow of Imbolc. But I missed Imbolc because I had a heck ton on my mind. So I am so excited for Ostara! I’m hoping that our Canadian weather relaxes a little bit with the snow by Ostara so I can spend some time outside. So here are a few things that I’ll probably be doing to celebrate!
🌿 Wildlife Photography
So I’m not really that big on photography, but it’s a fun thing to do to capture nature’s beauty. I’ve only tried photography a couple of times, and I like it, so I’m probably going to try it again sometime soon.
🌿 Cooking a big meal
So I plan on cooking up a whole lot of food to celebrate. After doing some research I found out that a popular food for Ostara is eggs! So I’m not really a fan of eggs. I can’t stand boiled eggs, omelettes are okay, quiches are… meh. But a while ago I tried making Japanese cheesecake off a recipe I found online. It requires so much eggs, whites and yolks! So I’ll probably make some of that. Maybe I’ll also make so fish and some sort of salad to represent the blooming of vegetables.
🌿 Going Outside
This one’s simple. Just get your ass outside and enjoy it. Have fun breathing in the smell of fresh spring and noticing every sprout and bloom. Talk to some trees and plants if you so wish.
🌿 Gardening
Do some gardening! Plant some plants. I’m sure your garden, as mine, will need some replanting, weeding, and mulching after a long and cold winter.
🌿 Music
So this one’s a bit strange. Music? Why? Well, music has always represented a sort of flow for me. And that’s what spring is all about for me… Don’t ask me why. Try an instrument, and come up with some simple and nice melodies. It’s good for charging, cleansing, and magick in general.
🌿 Cleanse.
By cleanse, I don’t just mean cleanse the energy because I’m sure everyone already does that anyway. I mean… get ready… Spring Cleaning! Yes, everyone loves spring cleaning… right? But seriously, get cleaning. Trust me, after all that clutter’s gone, you’ll be so much happier. A good idea is to reorganize your Grimoire/Book of Shadows (mine is a binder which makes that easy) and your altar. Organize your herbs and plants and books and basically I’m repeating myself.
🌿 Okay, so that’s all I have! I’m probably going to repost this later with more because I remember having more ideas than this, haha. Have a great day and weekend everyone! 🌿
